nice:)
i'm having a hard time with vantage atm,but messing around with 03 and 06 i was able to run past 1000 on core
used a super mega prolima cpu cooler in a 24f shed with this unlocked to 1.21v bios.

bout time i get a good fermi :D
BTW Any info on hardmods?
Nice scores and OC guys! Keep pushing it!
Beside, I have a huge doubt. I have the possibility to buy for the same price ($489) an MSI GTX 570 or a MSI GTX 480 Lightning, wich should I get? I just cant decide for my own on this one :(
Pekalion.
thats a hard call,it really is.
I think performance wize, they are roughly the same or not a lot of differance...more of a side by side upgrade.
but hey, who am I to talk :) I went to a 580 from a 480 and I like that change, not a major upgrade, small performance increase.. but some
Yes, its actually one of the most complex upgrades in my life :p
In the benchmarks, wich is better? Also for OC. Maybe this two things could make the choice a little bit easy.
As for overclocking on air i'd go with the 570,if hardcore clocks and fancy ln2 cooling is your thing get the Lightning.
Even with the tiny bit of less ram I'd give the nod to the 570 for only one reason it might be the better gamer/air benching card thats easier to live with.
What no 1 got a 570? were all the overclocks?
(and the hardmods lol):p:
trying to find a pencil mod for rams i'll post back if i get lucky
I need more experience for sub-zero with cards, and a pot :ROTF:
I decide to go for the 570, probably in the first week of january i will get it, before i have to finish some important stuff and buy the xmas gift for my whole family T_T
Anyway, ppl! we need more results in this thread!!! :p
Does the stock unisink that comes with the gtx 570 still fit without the thermal pads? I'm planning on using tim instead for better performance.

Mine was running 850 core 1150 ram until today, when it decided it wants to artifact even at stock ram speed
How are you guys managing to get beyond the 1.100v limit in MSI afterburner, I tried the unlocker and when trying to save the config file it wont let me.
I really need more volts, have some artifacts at 900 so reckon it needs a little more juice.
What kind of speeds can you guys run through the heaven benchmark at, I can't even run 830/1900 without increasing from stock voltages :(
It also might be my imagination but I think I see artifacts all the time on this card since the day I got it, and at stock frequencies:shakes:
send those cards that arti at stock speeds back.
well we cant unlock anything but as you look around the net there sure is alot of 570's runing 1g+ with water/cold air and volts.
BTW in my first post is an unlocked to 1.21v evga standard 570 bios it may be what some of you guys need to help hit 950+.
remember you should set fan to max when adding volts.
Think my card is on its way out :(
Stock speeds run in 3dmark11 gives black screen and fan spinnig full speed.
Restart PC then beeps of no card detected. I have to shut down and restart to get it running again.
Now that I think of it, it could only do 820 core on stock volts 1.025
After having another look it doesn't seem to artifact at stock. But it won't run heaven at 820 core without artifacting/crashing at default 1.012v, crap card indeed! With 1.1v I can make it through the first 06 test at 955 core, but that's about all :ROTF:
This card has been giving me strange performance issues since day one though, only gets 13k ppd in folding while everyone else I've seen gets 15k+, can't for the life of me figure out what could cause that!

That is one serious card nikolas!
If you can answer either of these I'd be much oblidged :D :
-If you've run vantage at anything around 830 core/stock mem, could you tell me what graphics score you got?
-How much difference does cpu speed make to the graphics tests in vanatge?
(yes, very new to it and just trying to figure out some things a little quicker)
nikolas61>What's the max stable oc for a daily use and what temps do you get? What cooling are you using on the board!10q

EVGA SC GTX 570
nikolas61>can u please tell me what VID u set for 880/1100?just out of curiosity.thnx
nikolas61, those are some impressive clocks you've reached- motherboard and GPU. All on air you say? Does your case double as a microwave oven?
I use my GTX 570 at 850/1700/4300, 1.05V. Using GPU-Z 0.5.1 I remove OCCT/Furmark protection, FPS in OCCT increases about 2 times in comparison with protection. But after a couple of minutes system shutdowns. I tested when at stock (732/1464/3800 0.975V), the same, it shutdowns after a minute. And then card become broken, it doesnt function even at stock frequirences, any 3D game stop responding after a couple of seconds. Very sad.
Maybe it's because card only have 6+6 pin power and/or two power channels are not used in comparison with GTX 580, which uses the same pcb.
belated kick ass and  to you nikolas great clocks:
can someone help me edit my gtx 570 bios in order to get higher voltage?
yes ...that i know but i am not sure with what program i can extract my full bios.(from what i've heard gpuz does not extract the full one but i don't know if the latest version fixes this issue)
Is there any way to set fan speed at 100%?
^yes you can unlock this limit in bios then flash new image
i cant quite get 50k....yet

Wow, nice clocks there for air, regardless of ambient
Completely shows why GTX 570 > 6970 ;) 6970 really needs to be cheaper than 570...
Im having a bit of an issue... Anyone playing Battlefield bad company 2 and get random sound loops freezing? Will basically freeze 1-2 hours in to the game and then i can alt+ctrl+delete to open task manager and see BFBC2 is not responding. (Black screen before?)
Realtek issue? I am just lost currently in what to try.

this thread make me want to swap my 6970 to 570 Haha
my lil devil
my GTX570 arrived today - will post clocks tomorrow :)
its a MSI one - was cheapest one I could find (reference cooler) - but out of box is fairly overclocked, 786mhz on core and 4200 on the RAM
core is nothing special but the RAM surprised me as an out of the box clock
just short of 6k >_<!
.963 stock vid, max load temps 68 degrees under unigine's heaven benchmark. should be able to break 6k if I switch pcie slots, but this config is further away from my cpu and done to reduce heat.

I just ordered a pair of those MSI GTX 570's to replace my GTX 580, I need more speed! The out of the box memory clock is pretty nice-looking... they're due in Wednesday :D .
Got it off newegg for $350/ea but it has a 30 rebate, a free 4gb ddr3 sodimm, and just cause + mafia 2 coupons for each one (rebate's only valid on one card though). I figure I can sell the RAM and 4 game coupons to get a good chunk off the total, as well as my 580. Hoping I end up at around $100-130 for the upgrade, and if the rebate comes subtract 30 from that  .
I'll post my OC results in SLI soon!
EDIT: 9% off coupon now too, should save me $31.50 each if they apply it, they usually will while it's in transit :D .
Yes very nice...another 570 going 1g .
guys what are the best drivers for GTX570 SLI i just jumped to them from 460 SLI
thanks in advance !
Sergio
I have a GTX 570 SC and MSI afterburner does not allow me to change voltage 0_o .. what to do?!
do you have MSI Afterburner 2.1.0 beta7 or 2.1.0 final?http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=339433
Never, not NEVER!!! run new FurMark ver. 1.9.0 on GTX 570/580, it smels cards very fast, one can't boot now, and in system started from second card in other PCI-E slot, first even can't be seen in system, as there is no any other nVidia PCI device.
here my score

Does some1 can help me to make a mod 260.99 win7 X64 inf for my GTX570?
You want only to edit NV_DISP.inf?
any ideas on this one? didn't think to look until I saw something odd posted on another forum
MSI OC'd 570 ... but a psuedo non-reference cooler ?? any ideas ?
http://www.mark-buckley.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/570.jpg
http://www.mark-buckley.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/570-g.gif
mine obviously does :(
what sort of temps do people get in Heaven bench please ?
at stock "OC'd" speeds I'm up to 85C or so - is that about normal ?
never seen a 480 type cooler on a 570.
I just checked after seeing your picture you could put a ref 480 cooler on a 570,,the 480 base plate does fit quite well on ref 570
do you have a grilled cover, like dont tell me that there is a big 480 hot plate on it too?
anyways my 570's stock clocks fan maxed 65c looped 5 times in heaven all maxed 1600x1200.
grilled cover ?/hot plate - where would that be ?
um sry, what does the fan cover look like?
480's had a metal plate soddered to the heatsink fins that showed thruogh the fan cover thats why i called it a hotplate.
A little bit of heaven here and some vantage. Too bad my 2nd card is a terrible clocker :(

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ntage42361.jpg
looks pretty damn good to me :D nice clocks
Not sure if its good or bad.
Its just that msi(?) must have used 480 coolers on some 570's
like this ref. 480
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...20Video%20Card
not gret photo sorry - but from "shineyness"/reflections off flash you can just about see the hot plate I think
http://www.mark-buckley.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/570-2.jpg
yup i see
you buy new right? in box?
thanks - only reason I bought the 570 over a 60 dollar cheaper 480 - was for the quieter- cooler vapor-chill 5xx series cooler
I'd may as well gone with the 480 - with the extra mem, bandwidth etc - if I'd known Iwas getting same cooler !! and saved myself a load of money
I know manufacturers can put any cooler on that they'd like - but I was assuming that other than the Factory OC I was getting a reference cooler - which is sort of what you assume unless you go for a Twin-Frozr, Phantom etc which have specialist upgraded cooling - and its obvious before you buy
I wasn't expecting previous gen cooler !
in reply to above- yes brand new out of box
guys wich drivers are you using i tested this:
i have 2 SSD one with clean install W7x64 SP1 drivers 266.58 and the other same but drivers 266.77
for my SLI of GTX570 the best ones are so far 266.58
266.77
3dmvantage only GPU tests: 39047
3dm11: 9754
3dm06: 33861
heaven: 96,8fps / score 2439
266.58
3dmvantage only GPU tests: 39439
3dm11: 9843
3dm06: 33854
heaven: 97,9fps / score 2465
apparently - according to this set of forum posts - its normal for this SKU :( just wish I'd known before I'd ordered so i could have had a choice one way or the other
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1643736
if you can live with it ok, its not the end of the world but if not...
Mail msi or the store and tell them take there pos back, that fan had no buissness on a 570.
just to see what they say.
I would rma if could and it is an issue you do run hotter then ref. cards.
+ Just forget resale even ebay would make you give money back if the buyer refused it...theres no site link to back up anything!
like its the msi rep said in the guys post
"The manager rang up an MSI representative, who told him that it's from a special batch with the cooling from the 480, that's why it isn't on their website"
My ref. 570 needs about 1.15v to hit 85c looped heaven with fan max.
thanks :(
just re-ran Heaven - auto-fan, undervolted@ 0.965V, and at the stock oc clocks (786 mhz)
after one run - 84C - and fan speed of 59%
doesn't seem great ? :(
If its warm room temps not so bad,if cool room temps not so good.
*
this fan is most effective when set higher then 60% try that to help if you can stand the noise.

It'll do 5.5 on LN2, which is a lot better, but still not good
My 990X cannot get here soon enough
Really suprise, MSI GTX 570 OC, not an ordinary reference card with overclocked frequirences, but it's a board manufactured by MSI itself, however it still uses only 4 phase power for GPU, not 6, uses heatpipe cooler from GTX 480, maybe MSI have a lot of them and don't know where to sold them, and modifyed BIOS with MSI subvendor IDs.

still 2minds about my MSI OC 570 - I haven't had the time this weekend yet to take it out of case - put back old card in, and send back to shop for RMA
thing is - I'm still miffed about it being a bit of a weird card ... if that makes sense - but actually its not that bad - its not that loud, and doesn't get that hot either
oc's out of the box are quite good too - and at low volts at stock 786/4200 mem my VID is 0.963 - not too bad anyway
what do you mean by its a MSI manufactured board vs a OC'd reference board, is it being made by MSI a good thing or bad thing ?
pity still standard 4 phase VRM - but sort of guessed that from the back of the board and the 2x6 pin power inputs
cheers
the ref 570's have only 2 6pin also buckster^
I still cant believe it,i would pissed to have a cut down card for the same price.
Important thing is if its ok for what your using it for
BTW
are you guys in the states?
I'v seen some cards only launched in asia that were cut down like that.
