GEIL PC4200 @ 312MHz(624MHz DDR) ....

A friend of mine brought those 2 x 256MB GEIL PC4200 Rams at my place to test them........Not bad...... :D

Vmem = 3.5Volts.....
ABIT IC7-G
Prometeia cooling system

wow thats friggin insane. i doubt its the first time DDR600+ has been achieved(allthough one of VERY few) but its the first time ive seen it, congrats hipro, i got a question for you though, its obvious to me and everyone else who follows ure adventures that u have skill and a plentiful supply of it, so why dont we see hipro at the top of orb?

Corsair has pc5500,not sure what its ddr is...

Me loves my geil 4300, Nice when i have a 2.6c in here. 295 fsb 1:1, wish i had my old 2.4c that i sold though!!!

Hmm, never heard of Corsair 5500. They have 4500 if i remember correctly, but it is DDR566.

To clear up: Corsiar has PC4400/DDR550.

Yes... PC5500 would be DDR687!

Very nice speed, seems like pc3700 and up has high latency and usually overclocks bad to boot. you even got the CL to 2.5, not bad :) would really own for a 2.4c at 300+ fsb 1:1

What you don't see is that the IC7 is heaviliy modded with Vdimm and VTT mods along with Extra smoothing knowing Hipro.

If you mod a board to apply ultra smooth voltages to the dimms with Vref, Vtt and VDD tracking correctly etc the ram clocks like a god what ever the brand...

Trust me I have played with this.

Thats true but this is still a very nice OC for that ram.:D

No way to do that......GEIL can run at 2.5-7(8)-4-4 not even at 3-8-4-4.....If you put the first 2.5 to 3 does the things worse.....

Yes that's true but with glued the heatspreaders with some thermal paste and fast gluing glue but....they weren't mine to do so :)

I think they could do that but.......you see bigtoe was my internet good friend(I thought) some time ago but he desided not to any more(in a forum).....That's peaty coz I liked him a lot.A good guy and a badass memory bencher....One of the best......

Hey man what voltage do you have on your DDR? I have also those memóries and next week i'll have a 2.4 M0 but i'm not sure that these geil will run @ 1:1 (300 fsb). I already have vdimm mod!;)

I guess this puts Geil up as the highest clocking RAM?

nice to see geil kicking the :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: out of BH-5, BH-6. I am sick of hearing about how great bh-5 and BH-6 is. The fact is, timings dont compare to raw mhz.

I agree man, Im able to get such better bandwith with geil 4000 than my mushkin L2 3500 bh5

on a side note my GeiL 4300 memory cools better with the Heatspreaders on them with a fan blowing on them. Than with bare chips. Food for thought.

No not at all...............Try to bench everything exept S-Sandra and PCMark memory with both and you'll "see".......

what does that ram do @ 3.25v hipro 5 ?

It does almost 290-295MHz

should i but it , instead of my mushkin bh-5 for my prescott 2.8 ?
