request for GIGABYTE EP45T USB3P BIOS support me guys

How are you ppl

I been requesting a new BIOS update for this great mobo that unfortunately has problems on new mem modules DDR32000+

i tested 3 kits of mem and this where the results that i reported to gigabyte

gskills ECO 1600 CL7 / gskills PI 2000 CL6 / stalents hypers 2200 CL8

*NONE do 1T at 1600 on ANY 1600 divider, you can put 1T or AUTO and they do 2T, i did some serious tests here and no go

*all gskills boot 2000 when set at 4.A/C/DB divider and they do 1T AUTO...you can put 2T manual and they boot 1T

*hypers get amazing tight timmings at 1600 (1600 6-6-5-18 PL7 trfc 52) but no 1T again and NOT 2000 not even at ridiculous loose timmings, i assume some mem incompat here

So i ask gigabyte to dont stop giving support, i had the great help from stasio, lsdmeasap and said form giga support but last words suggested me to change to P55 or newer chipset wich of course i dont want

So any owners or ppl supporting this are welcome

Just curious, but you have an LGA775 computer. You do realize that your host interface(aka FSB) is more limiting to your performance than your ram speed right? What i'm saying is that your FSB's maximum speed is less than DDR3-2000. Any increase in performance above ddr3-1600 would be inpercievable and any difference between your benchmarks would simply be due to margin of error, right?

Also, I'd like to mention that the memory timings you are trying to achieve are not in gigabyte's supported list. I'm not saying that they won't work, but I don't think you really understand what you are asking for. You are asking Gigabyte to add support for RAM speeds that won't increase your performance, aren't supported by their list, and on top of it are for hardware that is basically obsolete. Car analogy: You want Ford to make your Mustang go 200 mph instead of 199mph, and you want them to make it work on your old 2007 model. Ford doesn't care about the 2007 model. They care about their 2010 and upcoming 2011 model.

If you want DDR3-2000 support you should drop some money in a new core i7 motherboard(doesn't have the limitations of your motherboard because the RAM is directly connected to the CPU.

Props for xtreme though.

I think it would be nice to get Ram to run at 1T. Seems like a realitivly simple fix.

Thanks my friend but all i've tested you can see on the UD3P thread and they made F1 bios and F2D long time ago...mobo says 2200+ DDR3 so they should at least respect 2000

I found the best mem for tight timmings and no problems at all are Elpida Hypers IC's wich i repoted to giga some time ago, and BBSE or PCS its hard (gskills for ex)

Whenever i try to do 2000 on hypers i get the red Overclocking Message on BIOS indicating some incopat with RAM wich is nonsense as it could do magic on 1600

I just want GIGABYTE to take a look at this and i appreciatte your comment but this is not a I7 moving thread mate, im very clear and tested all and posted on UD3P thread and also sent all the data to the ppl i mention above

well i can be happy to get my hypers at 2000, but seems some incompatible things here wich are nonsense as i tried lots of other RAM that are not on the non updated compatibility list of gigabyte...

I have to disagree a bit , yes im always on the fore front of new technology and yes if we wanted ddr 3 it be a bit easier to run a I7 , but gigabyte just made this board for all the ddr 3 775 users with the e8400 and q9650 and other processors that where simply designed very well that even keep up with the I7 design ,so lets see one more bios update for a 5 month old board GIGABYTE EP45T USB3P rules :up:

Yes Gigabyte, support andressergio with a new bios. That supports better and newer ram..
Only the cool guy's use 775 sockets, so give us some support here..

I have tried multiple sticks of Corsair Dominator GT 2000c8 and a few different Kingston HyperX 2000c9 with no luck.

The USB3P is a great board but they need to fix the memory incompatibility and allow the use of the 1T command rate.

Not gonna lie Sergio, my UD3R/Q9650 has been getting a lot more use than my i7 setups:yepp:

Yes mate we talked also by PM remember ? and some posts here...what is weird it that she like Gskills but this mem barely cant do tight timmings and my hypers yes, but hypers cant do 2000...and when the Gskills do 2000 they do it on crap bandwith

That is why im asking at list a revised BIOS to fix this

I had a bfg s939 board, it had 1 bios...and only 1 bios. I called bfg and asked the support guy about the chance of an update because it didnt recognize my fx60, he laughed and said " I wouldnt hold me breath". I would think gigabyte would be much better though.

I've advocated for a two-year life-support system, starting from first public offering of product.
First year should be intense bios/whatever support on most issues, and second year should be extended support for remaining (serious) bug-fixes, etc. Unfortunately, it's our fault as consumers for buying into the current 6-month planned-obsolescence system.

Software/Hardware upgrade racket (as you guise know) has been the norm for ages, but "progress" these days is measured in nanoseconds...and every product seems like a version 0.9alpha release,.. WTF.. sheesh :)

PS. Speaking of v0.9alpha..... F1 bios (for me) had this nasty scroll bug at MIT menu.. total LOL, i must say.

was gonna get the usb3p today but hesitant on it a little...

Would be nice to see Gigabyte maintain support for this board. If a company want to release a board so late in the game, they should still support it once the new platform is released for the same length of time it supported the first release boards for. If they don't it clearly shows they just released the board late to get some more money from people, then try and force them onto new gear by failing to update BIOS etc. When a company does this, all they succeed in doing is forcing people away from their brand. Last time I looked at the stats on market share, X58 and P55 held a low percentage compared to P45 and X48......only a small percentage of computer enthusiasts run out and buy the latest and greatest when the have perfectly good gear at home already.

Mandatory 2 years support from release date would be a great idea.

well it would make since because most car manufacturers and motorcycle manufacturers are on two year cycles anyways but the difference is you can still get parts support after the new body style comes.

Gigas P45 are the best 775 boards, they should continue to support them just for the good reputation they gave the company.

Today I set up USB3P with Q9650. I used my old x48 Blackops boards as guides since I run the same ancient patriot DDR3 memory across all my boards : 8-8-8-22-60 @ 450, etc.

I must say : Mad propz for the USB3P on this one. :up: I've not had any problems (yet) in porting over settings from x48.

I hope you're right, because I bought USB3P partly because of the 'hype' on these XS threads, and I --would like-- to buy another if bios/support improves.

Normally, I buy two motherboards of the same type (helps with debugging/modding/backup), but l probably won't do that with USB3P at the moment. Little issues are getting in the way. For example. the seeming ?? lack of L1/L2 disable truly craps on some DOS software I like to run -natively-. Also, what genius Gigabyte accountant came up with the idea of :down: soldering the bios chips to the motherboard? :down: This saves all of 7-8 U.S.-pennies and discourages us from using Award tools to take this bios apart on our own. (Solder Solder Solder ..... If anything seriously bad happens to primary soldered-bios, why should one be forced to rely exclusively on soldered-backup for salvation?) (Please Note : I should just STFU on this last point and solder a socket in there.)

To continue the bios "rant" -> Comparing the bios menus (Blackops/USB3P) illustrates some hits and misses for both. USB3P is pretty good in this, only being slightly-less feature-rich with respect to support for common elements on both boards. Naturally, there are some annoying differences in nomenclatura throughout menu systems but that's to be expected.

Did we ever get a new bios for this board?
I just got GIGABYTE EP45T USB3P and I think using my dominator 2kgtc7 are not working as they should.
I can only get 4400 (not stable, cascade) with very lax memory timing ~1333 9-9-9 or slower.

this board blows at clocking memory.

I couldn't get my hypers to run at 1600 c6 stable for the life of me. Also the board would always set 2T even when you set the 1T command rate.

I have a feeling PSC's might clock better on this board but I sold it before I could test with my GTX3's:shrug:

Also try raising the NB volts

I see that there was an F2d bios for this board - anyone have that or a linnk to it?
I am on F1 and not doing well and I can't find F2d anywhere.

I've raised all the volts - a lot - no help.
I think this board with F1 bios may not like the dominator 2kgtc7's.

Wish I knew about this thread earlier - I still have my USB3P and now I've just move into a more spacious home, I can finally have a benching table set up :D

There's an E8500 and E8400 I have kicking around which I know both do 600FSB+. Would be nice to see if this board's capable of some higher numbers.

A newer bios would be nice to see and the 1T bug was odd considering it could manage 1GHz ram speeds. I guess the board was just not quite popular enough to warrant extra the work involved.

this board was a giant flop, very disappointing coming from Gigabyte especially since there has not been a bios update in the last year

I sold mine to my brother - He has had 0 issues forover a year now. It has Q9650 OC'd to 3.84 and G.Skill 1600 RAM (8 GB's). The board was fun to OC but I think they left us hangin on a BIOS update. Might get someone to mod the F2d bios ??? Just my 2 cents worth. wibujo

The only "mods" i've seen "out there" are cert mods for faking out Vista, etc...

I reluctantly sold my USB3P about a week ago - was desperate for the money and didn't get a lot for it either :/

It performed really well with the exception of the 1T issue which didn't really matter in real-world usage anyway (unless you're using memory intensive apps such as encoding video or benching).

Great looking board with a whole lot of nice features and potential, but I had to move on. Gigabyte still won as I got the X58a-UD3 which is lovely.

I just got an E8600 that I know will do 5.5Ghz+ from a forum member. I can't get my ram to run rated speeds or timing no matter what timings or voltages I run. It's really holding my OC back. Anyone have an answer to this? This is my ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231351

I have to run this ram underclocked and at CL9 to make things work.
