Anyone caught wind of it? It's been a long time since I've heard any info and I remember reading that it was slated for August release. It's the middle of August and not sign or damn thing about it other than pics.

Tbh I wouldn't count on seeing it this year, especially with the Formula doing so well.
Perhaps with the next wave of new CPU's?
Funny thing is MSI did have some board equip with Hydra chip
They even got one for 870 chip
The board that your thinking of imamage is called the MSI 870A-Fuzion and ASUS said July-August for the release schedule and we are not at the end of August yet. I to am waiting for this board. One reason is for the High binned chipsets so I could possibly get my 1055T to 4.0GHz as my FSB is holding me back on my 790FX-GD70. The other reason is for hydra and the chance to join the Hydra Masters.
think, some boys here has this board, but still is under NDA :(
I can confirm it's real but i am not sure i can show it's real. Will ask around.
 Hope, launch will at least September:confused:..
Dear Brian ;)
all we want know is that how it goes ? 400+ htt? 6.5 @ 32m Thuban ? ;)
please :D I was very nice this year :D
haha :D
can we at least confirm that it still has the lucid hydra chip?
so waiting for the answer ;)
Is this enough to satisfy your curiosity?

I have been following this product quite thoroughly as it will be my next mobo and why shouldI know as much as I can. I have also been in contact quite frequently with Lucids PR contact for any info she could give me on the MSI Fuzion and the Crosshair IV Extreme.
Chew keep us updated if they ever tell you anything. I appreciate you asking. :D
ohh my god, you cant believe how excited i am with that PDF
for sure this is my next mobo, i currently have 2 x GTX 470's on a crossfire board (with SLI HAXS) but its getting harder to do this with Nvidias relentless fight to disable it,
i wish they would let it go, considering we will do it with hydra,
many thanks for the link
It was my pleasure. Although I found this a while ago I didn't know that where was anyone else this interested in the board to post it up. Not that there was anywhere to do that anyway.
Don't mix Hydra N mode with SLI. They are both offering nvidia multi-gpu setups but they're aren't working the same way. Also Hydra N is much more dependent of good game profiles made by Lucid driver team and till now multi-gpu scaling is not so good as the official nvidia SLI. The only good thing is that Hydra N supports 2 different nvidia gpus in multi gpu mode that SLI doesn't.
Guru3D review of MSI Big Bang Fusion was few months ago but it was very nice and very informative regarding Hydra and it's modes:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/msi-bi...review-test/22
They tested with Hydra driver 1.4 and N mode didn't work at all. It also lacked GeForce 4xx support and DX11 too.
There are new Hydra drivers 1.6 so their team is working hard to polish the drivers but still beside interesting Mode X (nvidia + AMD) I think that the genuine SLI and Crossfire multi-gpu options are better choice.
http://www.lucidlogix.com/driverdownloads-driver3.html
Hydra really looks promising but the fact that is fully dependent of drivers from nvidia and AMD at the same time doesn't look good for it. (Lucid Hydra drivers are installing on a top of Forceware, Catalyst, or Forceware and Catalyst together)
Coming in September, actually the delay has been on the Lucid side waiting for GTX4xxx enhancements but it appears they are about ironed out now.
Thank you ASUS Support. This means Im getting new Case, MOBO and Heatsink in the same month then. CC600T, Corsair H70, ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme.
This thread just made my day
sweet, finally some definitive word, top notch ASUS
Sweet, that's wonderful news! I've been waiting so long for this board, never wanted the Formula, but the Extreme, so I can put 2 Nvidia cards on it..
Thanks for the great news people!
Question for ASUS. Are you guys working on an Android app for the ROG connect?
Now that it's september I'm really hoping for a release in the first half even if it's a quiet one :)
I was waiting for this release.
I wonder if perhaps they are delaying so they can get the AM3r2 specifications added. Since they are already late on this release, if they could get AM3r2 (am3+) working on this board they would be ahead of the game.
Probably NOT but we could hope.
some pics
Would be 20 Sept
http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showth...air-IV-Extreme
looks exactly how I imagine it :D
Sweetness.....
This mobo looks sick!
Ohhh, purdy......
It looks awesome
I see you guys like it :)
sli?
Lucid right? It doesn't have Crossfire or SLi... You can combine every card you want on that board:)
it has cf.
I liked the old heatsink design. It was Prettier.
whau, nice, looking for inovations and performance with this.
i had a bad dream last night
it was that asus went gigabyte crazy and decided to charge people $900 a pop...
Like the new heatsink design, but i have fear of the loudness of that micro fan...full shot of the board please! :D
Will it come with Socket AM3r2 ? :)
no, think with AM3+ we will see better monsters :)
nice!

it up on the Asus website.
Does the RC Bluetooth mean I could potentially view temps / volts etc - via my bluetooth enabled phone!?! - AS someone here is asking if its going to be available for Android?
If it is - I'M SOLD!!! lol.
I actually like the look of this better than the Deluxe. Now a countdown for the EK full cover block. :D
DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL!!!!!!
I was going to get the Formula one this month - by selling 4gb of my RAM and My Asus M4a89GTD - lol, hope I can still it afford it! :)
but hell, i'm defo waiting for this baby!!! Hurry up Asus!
Anyone noticed that the Extreme isn't anymore on the ASUS site?
I wonder if they will ever bring this out, as in 6-8 months it will be time for the AM3+ platform anyway and these high ends will be out of favor.
Think he meant the proper product page, it was up a couple of days ago at
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...Le7&templete=2
Jep, that's what I ment Wez;)
Ah, didn't realise that there is this interest thread around (found this while searching on Hydra), anyway got the retail box sample a few days ago. NDA for numbers is still 20th though.
You can click on my VRZ thread for more photos, enjoy. :)
http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread...56#post8565994
Does it suffer vdroop like the other asus boards mate?
Also interested if Bus Speed jumps around as much as the 890's - both M4a89GTDPro AND Crosshair IV formula cause CPU to jump around nearly 50Mhz! (when using 20x multi :P )
Don't think we are supposed to be showing shots of that board yet although I could be wrong ;)
And that looks so eerily familiar... got to be deja vu. :D

Wow, nice system:up:
My HD5850 +460 GTX Scores
Hydra 200 chip is a combination of they're okay.;)

namegt: and sometimes changes with OC potencial CPU here against Formula?
Yeah we wants to see high clocks here :D
but with this board, thinking, is possible break some 3D AMD records
Mac can you tell us which slots support hydra and which dont?
http://www.playwares.com/xe/files/at.../aIMG_2000.JPG
http://www.playwares.com/xe/files/at.../aIMG_2001.JPG
hydra X-MOD
Mainboard interesting:p:
Hydra chipset to support slots?
I think all the slots available for PCI-E ...
According to the bundled printed manual, slots 2, 4 & 5 support Hydra while slots 1 & 3 support native Crossfire without any potential Hydra overhead.
PS: Just checked the Asus ftp server, again still empty save for the sole BIOS release.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...ir_IV_Extreme/
I don't like that fat heatsink. I bet it retains more heat than it dissipates.
Simplified summary of PCI-e slot usage
(hope I got it correct)
http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/68f8e2fd.jpg
A - ATI
N - nVidia
X - miXed
Max. video card modes
1 card - x16
2 cards - x16 x16
3 cards - x16 x16 x16
4 cards - x16 x16 x8 x8
With 3 or 4 video cards installed, slot 3 can still support another card in x1 mode.
Makes me want to sell my Formula for the Extreme! Oh man!
Thx.
2 x GTX460 in Hydra N Mode, impressively good scaling comparable to the nVidia's official SLI.

PS: 1090T x6 at Idle/Load/Turbo@800-4x/3700-18.5x/4000-20x MHz
I was told 20/09/10 via email which is today over here.
A quick test is run on air cooling.
My 1090T and Crosshair IV Extreme 1.4v 4250MHz 32M Super PI RUN
NB: 3000MHz 1.25v

Guess that's probably cos NDAs always expire 'earlier' this part of the world. :D
PS: Anyone tried out 3 x GTX460 cards in N Mode since Hydra is bridgeless? Too bad I have only 2 cards with me.
Think you can also use slot 1 too. I have tried running the 2 x GTX460 in N Mode using slots 2/4 and slots 1/4 configs with similar benchmark results. Just wondering how well 3 x GTX460 cards can scale esp. when this model is restricted to just 2 card SLI with its single SLI connector.
A few minutes ago I got an email from ASUS Germany. It's available now, no more words about nda.
So chew*, please show your results. :)
Retailers need to open the pages up I have an itch to spend!
namegt: whau, with 1.4V at 4260 MHz boot? Its look good, test pls max Cinebench R10/r11.5 at this air. Nice videos, u have a bit louder cooler, but looks me, what cooler is it?:) Thx.
USA NDA was waiting for something, I can post now but I am wait on the something, it will be worth the wait :)
Board has come along way since way back when, as you may have seen from pictures on the net it changed a couple times.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/c4e/c4e1.jpg
This is the final rev board that the guys above are posting with which I really have not slammed on to hard for visually obvious reasons.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...e/med_c4e2.jpg
I should have a full retail board tommorow so I would rather show results with that :)
Maybe I will toss this on the bench just for a little fun, don't think I can slam it at 4gig + though so I will post functionality stuff with sli.
Chew I still like the old heatsink versus what it is now. But when do you think I will be able to put this baby on my Credit card. I have a new retention bracket for my TRUE on its way with Arcticlean as well. I also had to order a new DVD drive because my old one is IDE and I ordered ASUS. Just want to buy this thing already, I have waited so long.
OK rewind back in time to my testing on ch4F with the hack for 3way sli.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...x480/lrg_4.jpg
Now its not quite apples to apples but If you would like to take my word for it sucking in timings to 7-7-6 at same speed is not worth 1500 points, that said it looks like lucid scales far better than a hacked driver.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...e/lrg_c4e3.jpg
Moving along lets see if the trend continues as we clock the cpu up with no concern for the motherboards PWM apparently on my part.
Hacked 3way sli on ch4 forumla.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...x480/lrg_9.jpg
Lucid 3 way on c4e keep in mind I am not using physics to boost my scores here.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/c4e/c4e4.jpg
Edit 2 more.
Preety sure I am severely cpu bottlenecked at these GPU speeds.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/c4e/c4e5.jpg
*Disclaimer* PHYSICS is on
Only for fun, is this the kind of CPU score we will see with bulldozer?
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...e/lrg_c4e6.jpg
http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/7509/c4eh.jpg
Like other AMD Asus board, that C4E is also very good for memory oc, Here i can get 2200 CL9 stable with 8Go of G.Skill Trident 12800 CL7 :)
More pictures of that Crosshair IV Extreme on PCWorld France
Salope Thomas :p
Nice board:D
Doesn't really look like the final retail box revision of the mobo though, mine doesn't hava the extra black SATA connector next to the BIOS chips.
http://www.expreview.com/img/news/2010/09/21/ROG3.bmp
Not many web reviews so far since the official launch, strange.
yes, nice board, good for 3D benchmakrs think. Now (next days) we will see Chews* WRs at it :-D
The official pdf manual is finally out on the Asus ftp server, all interested parties can go grab it.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...IV_Extreme.zip
I can try that on a retail variant if you like demon, Unfortunately that chipset cooler on LUCID chip in this pic prevents me from using slot 1. Config was 2/4/5
