One user on oc.net has one; Hey_zeus I think it is. IIRC, he had to get a custom bios from EVGA to get it running on an x58 classified.
How do you get a custom bios from EVGA?
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=247395&page=7 There is some discussion of this in this post.
updated i see some test
Asus Rampage II Ex can run it
Gigabyte UD7 UD9 [no boot]
Pretty sure most Asus boards will run the dual QPI Xeon's. The Classified will run it, but you have to do a hard mod to get it too. Not sure about the Gigabyte boards though.
I have the six core 5620 on a gigabyte-ud3r motherboard and can overclock it to 4.2 on air.
I had a 5630 running on a Classified and it ran pretty damn good. Overclocked quite easily to 4.4Ghz BUT it was a total waste of money at 600 dollars. The pro's is that it ran extremely cool. When i say extremely cool i mean 60C load's at 4Ghz with a stock intel cooler but the low multi def kills overclocking potential unless you get a board that can turn a high BCLK.
How new is the classified? I had to puchase mine directly from EVGA because the newer boards had a different revision then the older boards that allowed it to run the dual qpi chips. Let me see if i can find my post over at the EVGA forums.

My GA UD7 could run at @4.18GHz(220x19) with a X6550 for 24/7, but some new MBs are hitting pretty high BCLKs these days.
BCLK240+ will get a good OC out of E5620, and it will be interesting to see how these newest MBs can do with e E56xx.
Might be alittle too old. The new revision started in march/april. PM Jacob. He'll know for sure.

I run a X5650 on a R2E, so the E5620 should work as well. The problem is the locked uncore that will probably limit your oc fun.
As there's no bios (as far as i know) that unlock the uncore on asus boards, i recomend you getting a gigabyte.
revision 1 pcb classified will need a hardmod + newest bios
revision 2 pcb only bios update
revision number is at lower left
i think 4 way classy is only rev 2
Yeah my board is a Rev 1 I'm selling it and picking up either a rev 2 or sr2
Any word on the R3E??
R3E should only need a bios

Can anyone explain this to me?
what about P6X58D Premium?
should work fine?
Yeah, I am currently looking at getting an EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI, but there is no way of finding out if this board will take an E5620 with high qpi.
PLEASE can someone who owns this board comment on the use of a 32nm cpu.
I hope it can, because for the price, Asus, MSI and Gigabyte start to look good.
wtf. I thought i was sure about E5620s being Quad cores. Is intel & newegg lieing to us?

would love to know if the the E5620 works in any of the low end Asus mobos..
Does anybody know, if it's possible to overclock this CPU with 20x multiplier (though it has 2,66GHz Turbo clock it shouldn't be a problem?)
I found information it works on GA-X58A-UD3R which is not so expensive, anybody confirms?
I bought an E5620 cheap on South African forum , bought Gigabyte X58A-UDR3 ver.2.0 and Corsair XMS3 1600 CL8 6gb kit . Tried cpu with default bios ( never was able to see what version BIOS was - no boot ) . I couldn't update bios as I had no compatible cpu for the board , so I sent the board back to my supplier and asked them to update to latest official BIOS ( FE at this time ) . Tried again - still nothing . Then I updated to latest beta BIOS ( FF1 at this time ) from Stasio @ the Techpowerup forums ( this time I had i7 950 to update ) , then , with 950 installed , changed multi to E5620 multi , and set uncore , DRAM and QPI ratios to lowest possible . Low and behold - the damn thing started ! ( All this is today , after 2 weeks of missioning and tears ) . Now I have CPU set to 211 x 19 ( you have to have turbo enabled to access 19x multi ) @ 1.35v under Corsair H70 . Must still check for stability and mount cooler properly with TIM properly applied . I will post some screenshots as soon as I've confirmed highest stable OC . I hope this helps - I struggled for 2 weeks trying to get this going and am now fully amped and stoked and happy ...... ad infinitum . :)
I can confirm that my E5640 works with my Asus X58 Sabertooth
