Here I will compare the performance of ASUS GTX 465 and ASUS GTX 285 TOP

You see, the GTX465 is not entirely weaker than GTX285 TOP, just remember that this is the GTX285 TOP, core/shader/ memory 670/1550/1300 (default clock of the GTX285 is only 648/1476/1242)

Do you say that GTX465 is a less powerful than GTX275 ?

I have checked with stock fan, GTX465 activity was stable at core/memory 650/840. Room temp 30oC, fan set 87%

I use furmark to test the temperature of GTX465@650/840. Furmark run 20'

no, it is faster in crysis warhead. 2 fps slower average and 6 fps faster minimum = faster.

Actually, is better in all the test in minimum, wich is great, not for too far better, but something is something, and can be improved with new drivers.

Im also waiting to see the OC power of it! Have you tried some bigger OC and stable? Maybe 750Mhz at the core rock solid will be great

according to your results GTX465 wont be any near a fail card like HD5830.. and it can overclock like a charm :toast:

It looks to me this is the direct result of driver level optimizations. Perhaps the OP needs to do all his test using High Quality Texture Filtering and removing any other optimizations so that these type of inconsistencies don't happen.

At least GTX 465 will have a very good custom quiet cooler from the begining but i think that 239$-249$ , 5830' price should have been more realistic.

Wow, I almost thought the GTX465 was POS, but after this review.... I might just sack F it and get me one if I can find it cheaply! I only game on an 20" LCD anyway. :D

mhhh the fact alone that you compare it to a gtx285 and have to mention that it DOES perform better is really all there is to say, isnt it? i mean yeah, it is faster, but the performance gain is so low that you have to point out its faster... :D

if somebody would switch your rig from a 285 to a 465 i dont think youd notice the difference at all...

and a 465 costs 300$... isnt that close to what gtx285 cards sold for a year ago? so basically you spend 300$ to get dx11 and be able to bench unigine and play 3 or 4 games with some additional special effects that are so minimal its hard to tell if they are enabled or not... now THIS is progress! :clap:

seriously... 300$ is way too high for this level of performance...
it should be 200$... and even then it wouldnt be all that great as a 5770 isnt exactly slow and costs 150$...

HD5850 @ 800/1150 is much stronger than GTX465 @ 700/925, however HD5850 @ 800/1150 can not play DX11 Metro 2033 at resolution 1680*1050 .

Some Asus GTX 465 can use accompanying software to unlock diabled cores and it performs very close to 470:eek::eek::eek:

Probably, I have tested an INNO and an ASUS GTX465 (as used here) and found overclcoking performance to be similar to what has been posted here and other reviews on both (reference) cards.

I tried using the ASUS unlock tool on both of these cards and it hasn't worked on either. Perhaps ASUS is holding it back for a Matrix Version or something.
