They both have worklogs named "Pegasus" but this thread isn't really based off of a pegasus and is more masculine and the other thread has girly stars and a pegasus on the case... which makes me facepalm.

It kind of reminds me of the pink s2000 from the FANTF.
Interesting if not amazing work, but god.... well. I can't say it.
Either way looking forward to how this ek fest turns out. :)

Nice build, a lot cooler. Two powerful pumps, one of the coolest out of reservoirs.
I hope so forth. I wonder how all this will look like.
Good luck.

I love BSG and I love your photography and gear so you get double thumbs up from me. Looking forward to this one.

This is my first water cooling project - before getting on with it, I've spent some long hours on the forum reading, and looking - now time to give something back :D
The spec is:
PC parts:
i7 980X
Asus P6X58D Premium
Corsair 3x2GB C7D
3x ASUS GTX 480 Tri-SLI
Intel X25-M G2 160GB
2x WD 2TB EARS
WD 2.5" 500GB
LG Blu-Ray DVD
Lian Li PC-A77B
Enermax Revolution 85+ 1250W
3x Dell AW2310 120Hz 3D + Nvidia 3D Vision Surround
Watercooling parts:
EK Supreme HF Acetal + Nickel
EK GTX 480 Acetal + Nickel
EK Dual Serial SLI Bridge
EK Asus X58 Acetal + Nickel
EK Asus X58 Mosfet Acetal + Nickel
2x MCP655
EK D5 Dual Top - Single loop
XSPC RX360
XSPC RX240
XSPC RX120
FrozenQ Liquid Fusion Blue/Black
Bitspower fittings
Primichill LRT Black 1/2 ID 3/4 OD
Aquaero VFD + flow & temp sensors
20x Akasa Apache Black 120
Avoiding any questions - yes the 2x D5 will run in a single loop - I have reasons for it and I realise that some would run rather 2 separate loops than 1 big as this one.
I have done calculations and flow should be spot on with it.
All of the parts are currently in my February build:

hmmm...not all really these 2 beasts have been added last weekend :D

http://rapidshare.com/files/38800400...nboxed_800.jpg
All the WC parts are on the shelf - only part missing is the case which is now @ CPC in good Tom hands :D
So far I have done some sleeving - it's not as nice as others do but I'm fairly happy as a first timer :)
Will start with posting parts and sleeving jobs, whole assembly will take place in the next 3 weeks - hopefully :D

Awesome pics!
I particularly like that EK 480 backplate. My hip pocket is tingling...:D
-
Yep, those EK backplates look awesome mate.

I would have to agree! Where I have not been a fan of nvidia has of late I have to say thats a nice damn cover for it. Only if Eddy would make top covers for the Radeons like that.

Some more info:
1) Case
Here is the simplified diagram of how the parts will be mounted in the case:
http://rapidshare.com/files/387885453/Diagram.jpg
It's as far as one can be from some brilliant renders some make but it's in scale (more or less :D ) and should give some idea where things will go.
As you can see on top of standard top rad cut there will be 3x120 cut in the bottom for intake - I don't like having negative pressure and fans struggling for fresh air.
Also there will be a cut on the side panel to fit 4x120 fans to get more air in.
All this will give 8x120 intake vs 6x120 exhaust - this should be fine for the pressure I think.
2) RX 120 rad
I'm not 100% sure yet about mounting RX120 in the back - up until few days ago the plan was to put it inside - but few days ago I didn't have those nice NB+SB and Mosfet blocks (I'll be honest it's purely for looks, this MB runs cool and I'm not extreme OC).
I think it should be worth to mount it though, whichever way I look at it 6x120 sounds better than 5x120.
3) The flow:
Order will be:
Res --> Pump --> GTX 480 #1 --> GTX 480 #2 --> NB/SB --> CPU --> Mosfet #1 --> RX120 --> Mosfet 2 --> RX360 --> RX240 --> Flow + temp sensors
I might change the CPU,NB/SB and Mosfet #1 order though if tubing will be better in other configuration.
4) Filling/drain
So far the Filling/Drain plans are:
a) The top of res - I'll have separate piece of 30-50cm of tubing with barb on one end and ball valve on another end.
b) Filling as in (a), Draining by a BP Q fitting in the way out of the pump (lowest location)
This will be much easier to drain but might be a bit more messy.
Anyways if there are more ideas I'm all ears and will go for most cunning plan :D
5) Fans
If anyone is wondering why not the "industry standard" GT fans for the build - well, couple reasons:
a) Apache push decent air (~57cfm) with very good pressure (2.64mm/H20)
b) They are practically silent, even outside the case
c) They are all black so no painting 20 fans for me
d) All use GT, let's go for something else :D
I use them in my old rig in H50 push pull and couldn't be more happy.
I can't hear the one outside the case with my head close to it (I'm not deaf :D ) while they push good air through this rad.
I've tried sleeving one fan last night and result looked better than the stock sleeve material so next week I'll get more sleeving and do the rest.
6) Coolant
Distilled + PT Nuke
I've read some people had problem with it having copper blocks (I think it was Sidewinder forum), I hope having all nickel will help a little bit to keep the loop clean for a 6 months or so before changing the water.
-
Wow that's looking good  I can't wait to see how you route the tubing.
-
was curious how those ek sli bridges worked. looking forward to seeing more pics of those installed
-
I love this but are you actually doing anything BSG with it? Google Bodakker's BSG build to see what I mean. A build of this magnitude combined with a mod of that magnitude would be epic.

Thanks guys, I will try not to dissappoint :)
Have re-sleeved one fans to see and looking better with 4mm braid than stock but I want to see how it'll look in 2.5mm so have ordered some and will try and see next week :D
BTW - never thought sleeving is so addictive and so much fun, now I see why there is whole huge thread for it :D

I don't want though build too much expectations - so of course it will not come even close to Bodakker's epic rig (I don't have skills, time and creativity like him or other modders here to be honest :) but... yes, there will be BSG touch, stay tuned.
Rev 2.0 in 2012 will be working Cylon :D
Let me know if you want something like a BSG-etched window, maybe we can work something out ;)

I'm rethinking idea about the rad at the back of the case and would appreciate your comments/opinions, my options are:
1) Mount RX120
Due to the thickness I'll be able to do push only (I'm limited in space between the back of PC and wall)
2) Mount Swiftech MCR220 (I have one spare lying on the shelf)
This one is thin so I'll be able to do push/pull. I use only 1 screen (so far at least :) so I'm not concerned to much about it obstructing parts of the PCI brackets.
3) Don't mount anything - RX360 + RX240 (both push/pull) are sufficient for the setup?
What do you guys think will work and look best for this build?
-
man, you've got some great hardware, great blocks, great pics and great ideas! Can't wait to see where you take this

All right, all right, to avoid possible lawsuits the Quorum of Twelve Colonies hereby announce a new name :D
BSG Scorpion Fleet Shipyards
The shipyards are currently home to a pair of Mercury class battlestars (also known as ENGTX480 class) which are being refitted with a new integrated cooling system for the primary turrets and FTL drives.
According to the colonial fleet main contractor (EK Defense Enterprises), this comprehensive solution improves significantly speed and firepower of the ships.
Due to the significant networking issues with more than 2 ships in a battlegroup during the engagements there are currently no plans to add the 3rd, however according to some sources a major works on the core ship interface are underway which are suppose to resolve the issue.

Have ripped the stuff out of the "old" rig, mounted blocks on the the mobo, painted wi-fi card bracket and sleeved few fans.

Can't decide for sure whether I should stick with the 4mm or 2.5mm - probably I will go for 2.5mm as it fits better into the cables channel in the fan chassis.
Here is 4mm:

Final week of the prep starts - next weekend case comes in and hopefully build will be ready to get some water in!
Updates since last post:
- finished sleeving for all the fans and splitters
- got the 2nd GTX 480 waterblock on the card
- got the EK links on to the waterblocks (note the main link is not screwed yet, just laying on the cards on the photo)
- got the fittings & tube routing plans for the mobo

Thanks for the offer, I very much appreciate it however my side panel is solid with 4x 120mm fan cutouts + the surprise so can't fit window.
Important build announcement
After very long consideration I've decided to up the game:
I've added another GTX 480 to the rig :D
Obviously this would have made poor i7 920 to sweat too much so...
I've addded i7 980X :D
Now even more obvious - what would I do with all that horse power on single 1920x1080 3D monitor? so...
I've added 2 more Alienware AW2310 3D for the 3D Vision Surround :D
After upping "epicness" level I now hope for some good drivers in the next couple weeks :D
And last but not least - official name is now Battlestar Galactica

Time for an update :)
Weekend kicked off with some new gear coming:
Sorry for the quality, it's just a quick snap.

Yeeeey... shiny 2 Alienware AW2310 to join older brother on the desk.
980X steady & ready to get under HF and the 3rd GTX 480 will soon get slimming surgery :D
So looks like it will be busy and interesting weekend, case should come shortly so I better get to work! :D

Well, got a bad news and good news.
Bad news first - for whatever reason DHL did not fulfil my Saturday delivery - which means I still haven't got the case.
CityLink, FedEx, UPS all were bang on time - DHL -poor service as usual (at least in my area).
So I couldn't put things together, but got some other minor things done like rad cleaning, 3rd GPU waterblock, CPU swap, new mobo fittings plan (yes, last one wasn't great :) and getting room/desks ready for the setup.
Now good news - 3 screens setup looks great :D
It's not fine tuned yet but just to give an idea of the "workplace" lol

those tubings looks awesome. for a second there i thought you didn't use any tubings at all. definitely going to be an awesome build once finished :)
-
-
Yeah, i actually had to go back for a second look, realizing there is tubing there. Very sleek.

Last but not least - my best friend today :D
http://rapidshare.com/files/396442194/dremel.jpg
All this took me longer than expected, but my fault, I should now better than it all looks more simple than actually is so add painting, sleeving, drilling & dremelling for most of the stuff and here you go, day is gone :D
Tomorrow will be a busy day too, dremel & drill will be busy again fitting PSU - as the SLI links forced me to unmount PSU raiser - so will have to do some cutting. Also last 480 bracket will become single.
If all goes well I should finish tubing and do first leak test later tomorrow so I better get good stock of paper towels :D
-
This is sexy, man. Battle Galactica

But I have sorted it today, cutting case and plate with dremel + fabricating new mesh panel to fit in the new hole so it is on ground zero now :)
Got few other things done too:
- 3x120mm fans underneath the case
- 480 out and back in to remount backplate (included home washers factory  but now looks great, no touch any chips/wires and no bending)
- more tubing done + res/pump plan
- cable routing
- side panel is now completed too
I will not show the panel though until build is ready, this is surprise :D
Will post some pics tomorrow with good light when I'm done with tubing - so watch out for more spam soon :D
-
-
Today I got to leak test stage - did 3 times and fail each time.
Now what are your guesses? I hear now "must be one of those gazzilion rotaries in there!" :D
Well, no. Each time Liquid Fusion res failed.
1st - bottom inlet
2nd - bottom inlet again (this time I've used plenty of thread sealer tape)
3rd - inlet fine but - water came out of the cavity between acrylic & alu.
So I'm very dissappointed with this product - it was suppose to be one of the highlights of this build.
This res turned out to be piece of junk - very pretty - but still piece of junk.
(I know there were revisions going lately but this doesn't help all those who got faulty ones.)
Small rant over :D
Time for plan B - EK multioption res. Pays off to have spares lol :)
Lessons learned today:
1) There is no "too much" with paper towel
2) If you think you've drained the loop....well, there's still water there
3) If you just got remaining water on your pants from parts where "there was no water"... well, there's still water somewhere
:D
Here are some pics from yesterday today so you can have an idea how it looks now:

WOW! Very clean, beautiful, sleek build you got on your hands! Only thing I can see myself doing is straightening the cables near the 5.25" bays so they look cleaner and maybe doing something with the pump label so you don't see that nasty white through the black mesh.

not really fan of the Liquid Fusion res anyway.... :D
the EK will be just great!
lookin' good so far!
-
1st leak test with EK res no leak so far, couple hours on the clock already
Doesn't look as good though and it is not large so I'll have to do something in the art department :D
Got some new toys for dremel today so will figure something out
Lesson #4 from previous leak test was... fast & easy drainage is a must so I have mounted Q fitting in the lowest point with hose ending with ball valve, should be very easy now to drain it.
Will post pics later :)

Its amazing , shame about the reservoir tho :( are you gonna RMa it ?

Overnight leak test success - no leaks, all bubbles gone
I'm not finished with wiring yet (in fact I didn't even started yet  ) but... I'm done modding the side panel and I so like it that I will brake my rule and show the almost finished exterior (there are still small bits and pieces to fine tune so everything would great) :D
So there you go - Battlestar Galactica

This external Pics of the case are just amazing, so beautiful.
I really loves the look with the blue screws and the black of the case... very small detail but I love it. Where did you purchase those screws?
It's a surprise that even with watercooling you've added a lot of fans to the case like the 3 on the bottom and the 4 on the lateral.

I got blue screws from specialtech, also from same shop I got this brilliant 2mm anodised blue aluminium which is the background for the side panel cutout.
I prefer to keep positive pressure so with 6x120mm (5 push/pull) worth of fans I need to have a lot of intakes - 3 bottom - but 1 goes straight into PSU, 1 in the from for drives and 4 in the side :D

so over black, but still awsome. :)

This is a really, really nice build and some awesome hardware too.
Could you do me a favor ? could you measure how much gap there is between the bottom of the mobo and the top of the PSU ?
I'm just wondering if I can cram the 4way classy in there...

Benching @ stock Vantage now :)
Took a while to get it running though, turned out the power cable to the case control got unplugged so I've had like 2h fun trying to plug it in without draining water :)
"should have gone to specsavers"

aye, super cool dude!
Also: Preview time. What color combo for the T-virus?
I'm thinking of getting one, but there are so many color choices/combination that look good I get distracted thinking of the possibilities :p:

I have (the leaking one :) ... guess what... yeah, blue acrylic + black caps :D
Never tired of this combo :)
-
That is a sick combo right there :)
You didn't want to opt for the two colored acrylic, maybe one spiral black and one spiral blue? That would probably look pretty cool too.
Obviously this is just a suggestion as you have final say (duh :p:)

Ok, I'd be so discourage to post right now, but mines does have the potential to top, in a few... its still cooking.

I did 24/7 mode OC & tests this morning - and what can I tell:
1) Watercooling is awesome! Sorry if I sound too excited but this has by far exceeded my expectations.
It took ca. 6h to bleed, there is
I'm totally hooked now :D
2) i7 980X is great OC'er!
Success in second attempt @4.43Ghz @1.36v load 1.09v idle (by offset 0.13v)
3) OC Temps (I don't even post stock temps, so low there's no point :)
Ambient: 17.8C
Load OC CPU (4.43Ghz @1.36v) Max Water: 25.2C
IBT Load Max CPU Temp: 53C (max on single core 57C)
Prime95 Load Max CPU Temp: 57 (max on signle core 59C)
Load OC GPU (850Mhz @1.075) Max Water: 28.8C
Load OC GPU (850Mhz @1.075) Max Temps (Vantage): 45C
Load OC GPU (850Mhz @1.075) Max Temps (Furmark): 51C
Flow: 199 l/hour
4) Fans:
My oh my. Those Apache push some serious air.
I know GT are "industry standard" and this is fairly new boy on the block, but if you can, try it.
5) Problems:
Flow sensor seems to give clicking noise, not too much but I can hear it.
I wonder if I got faulty one - this would expect low flow reading (I set it to 169), I reckon with this flow I would not get these temps with all this gear also flow estimations suggested ca. 2x flow that I got.
But anyway even with this I'm very, very happy with temps so all good!
IBT quick pass after couple hours of Prime95
