Ok, so seeing as we just did 1k threads in less than half the time allotted here, and we have the Supercomputer push this week, the new goal is
500 theads. In 7 days or less.
Anyone up for it?

let me start haha

I didn't add to last thread my 24/7 Quad at home, so:
Phenom 9500 = 485-4

One i7 920 down, temporarily replaced with the 2nd X5680 (until I get an SR-2)
-12 + 8 --> 477
just built another cheap dual core with HT, and installed BOINC on mom's old core2 duo
(4) i3-530 @ 4ghz
(2) e7200 @ 3ghz
471
PS- most of the new guys that just joined probably will not post here. from the "special thanks" thread, there was already over 500 members that joined. assuming each one only has a single core computer, that's already 500 threads. there's also 5 pages of fresh meat that Rise just recruited. now if we can get them all to post in here, then mission accomplished.
Great job guys!
And I posted up there, we'll see if they come!
980X came in today

cheater your running water :p: Just you wait till the SR-2 gets here with some X5670 action and a kick arse water loop:D
i7 920 @ 3.2 - 8
447 - 8 = 439
PLEASE DON'T DOUBLE-COUNT
This thread is for NEW threads; if you already posted it on the other countdown, don't post it again.
What is a thead?
Anyway, i think i understand what is going on here so:
439 - 8 - 4 - 2 = 425
just remembered i'm tossing a 2 threaded atom n450 netbook in ... should i bother counting that >.>;;?
hell .. 1.6 ghz stock oced to 1.8ghz xD

Hey Skycrane,
Didn't you add these machines in the 1000 thread count down? Not that your contribution isn't huge, but I think we're try to add 500 new threads that haven't been accounted for yet.
still man 56 threads.... insane!
Scycrane is a cheater :sofa: :ROTF:
My final contribution for the big push is now crunching hard :D
Many thanks to OldChap for the loan of a DDR3 stick

ok awesome! no problem, I just wanted to be sure we are getting an accurate count down. Sorry for wrongly accusing you :p:
Jeeze a quarter of the way there and only a day has passed
hahaha , this is fun :D. I started building crunchers from my old hardware laying around doing nothing , i will keep adding cpus as many as i can.
Added Celeron 430 Conroe-L 1.8Ghz Overclocked to 3.6Ghz on TRUE 100% Stable OC.

We'll see how stable that is over the next ten days ;)
One Core 2 duo @ 3.6
Gonna get another one online tomorrow as I'll have time for it!

PhenomII 965BE C2 @ 3.66GHz: 4 threads
I hope to get at LEAST another one thread running (I know my FX-55 can do 3.45GHz WCG stable, there's also a 6000+ floating around and an AthlonXP). My only problem is PSUs :shakes:
293
Took a thread off the Grid. Sorry. The wireless on the Celeron rig I just threw up is completely :banana::banana::banana:ed up (or, rather, the university's thousand access points plus a hundred other boarders' routers is :banana::banana::banana:ing up my router). I cannot get a reliable connection period. And for all the good the Uni's doing, they block out anyone not using Norton or McAfee... despite the fact that the last two weeks have been an absolute disaster for them since a McAfee update exposed the entire system. If the odds of 1:1000 for me getting McAfee were good, they're so low that I'd run up Fugger's bandwidth bill posting all the zero's that'd follow now!

How did you get sooooo many "ready to start" units?? I might have a laboratory e8500 (damn, who puts e8500 in hp office desktop:confused:) that is not connected to internet and is off for more than 95% of time. If i could fetch manyyyyy workunits at time, disconnect it and after few days connect it back again and upload??
How to download so many units?????????
Advanced, Preferences, network usage, Additional work buffer and ramp it up a bit :)
Oj101, you're a star

So, in this thread, I should post the ones I run for THE WEEK and in the original Core Countdown the long-term ones?
BTW, Jcool, wrong avatar!
No, you should post only cores/threads that you added recently... And not already posted by you (if any) in a previous countdown thread...
My bad for being unclear
Cores for SUPERCOMPUTER WEEK --> 500 thread
Cores for long-term --> 1000 thread
That way? I don't mean double-posting cores from one thread or another
Looks like we are going to reach 500 before I can get my sossaman up and running...still waiting on the heatsinks which won't be in until Monday

Just added a i7 930 4.2Ghz (-8) and for the week my T7100 (-2) laptop and E6600 (-2) will be crunching full time.
So 214 -12 = 202.
wow good work. there's alot of good crunchers/enthusiasts coming out of the netherlands. between xtreme hardware and tiesto i'm really liking that country!

Getting one of my HD5870 back from a friend on Monday and will be adding another i7 920 for the week.
Finally, after many trials and tribulations, dave is now crunching. Too bad I have to wait for a stats update to switch it to cancer only.

I feel so stupid you guys seem to have hardware under your beds and can assemble a quad core effortlessly and with a ton of passion! Very stunning ( although I feel bad I canīt add nothing at all :S)
edit: will hunt down a cheap mobo.. oh sh I would still lack the psu as the only spare I have has 20 pins.. I doubt an adapter could fix that, right?
130-10
120 left!
Added a 980x with 12 threads and a p4 HT (2 threads) but retired an i3 530 until it comes back from RMA... ;)
