holy tempting
Where's my BE DAMNIT
Just ordered one OVN. Been waiting on this thing for ages!:D
But it says pre-order. Hopefully it shows up in stock later tonight, or tomorrow. Otherwise the other e-tailers should have it in stock soon Monday/Tuesday. I ordered mine from Amazon since it shows in stock already, and I won't have to worry about driving around Monday/Tuesday (don't know official release date) + bridge toll. Since I'm paying tax I figured that into the cost as well.
Wish i hadn't sunk so much into my Westmere setup or i would be inclined to switch. Good lukc boys
Fry's online (call) pre order 1090T $299 ship by Tuesday
Lol everything seems so cheap in USD :p:
Came up for pre-order in New Zealand too but $349 1055 and $499 1090 so looks like I'll be settling for the 1055. Also store reckons we wont see stock down here until May 10th .
I haven't really tired or looked that's the :banana::banana::banana: thing about being at the bottom of the world we get things slow and expensive  but I'm used to it
Edit: That $349 in my first post is NZD not USD so once you convert it it doesn't seem to bad actually. So yeah I'm paying $248 USD for my 1055T.
Now Amazon says it's available for preorder. These guys still better deliver the 1055T to me on Saturday. ;)
Hi guys, a shop here in the Philippines has listed an X6 1090T "non-Black Edition" processor for roughly $175 US, and a 1055T for $167 US... does that make sense? I know this shop I bought my HX650 from them through a local forum, the listing just seems to good to be true. I'm told it's in stock, only a few left and I can pick it up today. Anyone got thoughts on this?
edit:
Here's a link for reference http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=5708818
Is the shop in close proximity? If so, doesn't hurt to check it out.
No, if it was I'd be there already haha, anyway I just reserved two (one for a friend) and will pick it up tomorrow, wouldn't hurt to check it since I'd be seeing the merchandise personally, if it was through shipping I'd be very suspicious.
I'm just wondering if there really is a non-BE 1090T
As long as I get it a few hours before work I'll be golden. I just want to swap out my current cpu with the 1055T, and do some quick tests. Aint nothing more fun than messing with new computer components.
OMG! I just got the CPU and it's a 1090T black edition, no way of testing it but the code on the IHS itself is HDT90ZFBK6DGR and a quick google confirms it's a Black Edition 1090T.. for $175 US! Need to get a board and some rams now, this purchase wasn't really planned until next week at the earliest.
The link I posted above, and no I'm not kidding :D
Sorry for the crappy mobile camera

Frys ship 1090T today
Phone order only @ their 1-800#
Product #6219140 for $299
think prices will settle to about 180-200$ for a 1055 and 250-260$ for a 1090 in the next 2-3 months?
6 months is too long, might as well just hold out for a BD
im looking at these chips as a great way to skip the first gen BD since in theory my 4x 3.4ghz (effectively 13.6ghz combined for max OC within a decent power draw) would be crushed by 3x 4.2ghz + 3x 3.6ghz (23.6ghz at practically the same power draw)
plus i still run ddr2, and do not want to upgrade until 4gb sticks are down to 50-70$ a stick
If I had the need and a better board with official support I would jump all over this. 1 left in stock at amazon
nice chip, only 4 days to launch and some days to me :)
4GB sticks will still cost a good bit in a year I'd assume. The price is dropping, but I don't see it going to an 8gb kit for 150 for a while.
The cheapest on newegg right now for a 1333mhz kit is around $350, so for the cost to be cut in half won't be that soon since there's nothing new to push down cost just yet.
Since most programs are not multithreaded, you might not see a jump from a quad to a hexcore. I'm waiting b/c of this. On top of that, you can't just say a quad a 3.4ghz = 13.6ghz. I bet a single core 13.6ghz chip would spank a quad in many things. ;)
i expect a thuban to last 2 years, my 940 lasted almost 1.5 and the only thing bad is single threaded perf. so in those 2 years, 2GB sticks need to come down to a little over half their price (like 60% price drop), and 4gb going for a very similar price per GB, so i expect early 2012 for them to be within anyones budget.
and the 13.6ghz is a very bad way to count, i know, but it just shows the raw potential difference between them. fact is badly coded games will see 30% increase using just 2 cores, and good games will see a 10-20% increase using 4 cores, and great games which can use 6 cores should see up too an 80% increase (or just not be cpu dependent at all, lol)
my CB runs are right around half of what were seeing here for 4ghz hexies, so i know the increase will be substantial. plus turbo makes it easy for me to OC while still being green on my electric bill.
A thuban at 3.6 should do the job for you honestly. It'll feed any SLI / Crossfire set up (Not sure about quad honestly) you'd throw at it if you went in that direction.
I bet you'd see a $30 to $40 drop in 4 to 8 weeks.
I guess at that point, you'd have to weigh how much 4.0ghz + with a 1090T is worth to you over 3.6ghz+ with a 1055T.
im wondering if i should just get a 1035T, but given its lower watts, i dont know if it will have the volts with turbo to let the 3 cores go to ~4.2ghz. i dont need all 6 super overclocked and taking up 2x the power. so im just looking for moderate volts and decent oc, but killer turbo, cause its only the duel core optimized games im worried about needing more than 3.6ghz
just wait a month or 2 n get a 1055 when it gets a good sale & by then you will know what mobos can take htt high enough for any 24/7 oc
Here are my tracking details so far:

April 23, 2010 07:08:45 PM --- Shipment has left seller facility and is in transit
Is this a sick joke or what?
you live in Vallejo? i have some family there. not sure why your package is in TN :ROTF:
Yeah, it's really weird since normally stuff from Amazon that ships out from Reno arrives within a day or so. Maybe I shouldn't have selected one-day shipping.
Ill be ordering one later today and it should be here on Wednesday. I just want what settings i should use to get 4.0GHz. Getting rid of my Bottleneck of a PHII X3 720 BE.
UPS' global hub is in Memphis. Everything has to go there first to get sorted.
It's being delivered by Fedex....luckily it's on vehicle for delivery
omg dumo have fun! ch4, dominatorgt, 1090t, gpu??? i had dreams about that last 2 weeks! ;)
Wow, that's neoce! Anyone try putting an order on the 1090T yet? Is Amazon shipping? Or is this some pre-order bologna? Thanks!
My 1055T should be here Thursday. Damn its going to be hard concentrating in school.
You should try to order it from Frys, like Dumo.
Looking forward to you results Dumo
richierich have you got some overclocking results? You have 4.2GHz in your sig and I wanna see some CPUz screenies to see how you did it :p:
Oh, check out the other thread labeled, "[XS]Just got Phenom II x6 1055T (Retail)". I posted in there, since I felt I didn't need make a whole new thread.
