Got a bit of info from Gabe that some may want to see. Did a search and came up with nothing so I think this is new to most :) Very nice temps on the GPU considering the clocks :up: VRM is being cooled with the unisink and a very low speed fan.

In terms of VRM temperatures, as one of the previous posters said it could be solved with better area airflow. Realistically though Fur XBM is not representative of any real-life load so those temps will never occur in reality. The good thing is that even with that the sink is still holding. Anyway, the real nice thing are the temperatures on the GPU core, even with Fur XBM they are only hitting 33C which is just superb :up:

I so NEED that block to replace my Maze5GPU. I didn't get a MCW60 since the exterior just looked so damned cheap. It looked like a cheap toy. I know it performed nicely, but I just couldn't get past the looks of it.
are these temps on an individual loop?! and what sort of radiator-age are you using?! it doesnt mean very much if you have 2 pa140.3s in this loop as most of us mere mortals wont have that sorta hardware, but if this was on one pa120.3 or equivalent, then excellent!
oh, and wont it be an improvement to use a heatpipe to the vrms to improve the cooling that they get ?!
The new block doesn't look bad at all... But I wouldn't worry about it. A couple of degrees one way or the other won't make a bit of difference in a GPU (most of the time, at least).Quote:

Given the expense of brass, my bet would be that the top is injection molded POM (just like the MCW60). The old Silverprop FusionHL or FusionSL GPU blocks, though, would be great for setups with phase chillers (copper base with all brass top and integrated brass barbs)... the trick is finding some.Quote:

Meh, besides, I'm with Waterlogged on this one. A GPU block being a degree or three better than another isn't going to mean jack squat when it comes to the vast majority of users overclocking their cards. Additionally, comparing GPU-only blocks to full-cover blocks while trying to maintain a "controlled" environment is a problematic proposition.
i dunno, theres not really all that many popular contendor's and most solo reviews are rare and done poorly. If nothing else the flow comparison would be nice.Quote:

I'm having a heck of a time with mine on my 470's. I've tried remounting them, even with fresh thermal paste but it seems like it's not making proper contact.
Everytime I remount it and power up the loop I get about 4 minutes before the gpu fan ramps up to 100%. I kill it in fear that I'm overheating the card(s). I'm gonna start my own thread, if anyone wants to help.
i got the mcw60 with the unisink on 5870
used msi combustor
950mhz 1200memory
fan @ 40% 1 5870 vrm 54c stock 56c gpu 35c stock 70c
its a cheap solution but with a full block vrm would not hit 35c but for the core i doubt a full block will be better
so does anyone know how it compares to my ancient Maze 4 GPU block? (or how my block compares to other more recent blocks?)
I wonder if much has changes for GPU blocks in those years... If it is actually worth it to buy a new block...
