Rampage III Extreme - Showing off 50k Vantage

Just a VERY quick run to set the facts straight! R3E is a good board with potential when I get me some good tripple channel ram. (OCZ Blade 3x2GB 2133Mhz died, and OCZ offers me a poor reaper 1600Mhz in return.. "good job...")

Enough crap about OCZ, although it will be my last memory from them - ever!

The new Rampage is up to its task, and this was the first completed vantage run of the evening. (up early in the morning, so also last..)

Too bad OCZ didn't return ram of the same value. Great CPU score and 5870s action! It's a pretty board. :D

Hey! I tested 4-5 661 cpus, and ofcourse I wrote the highest pi stable freq on them ;)

The OC panel is for overclockers only I thing.. not sure.

We tested RIIIE on LN2 during Cebit - there never was an NDA :p:

Hmmm I somehow found it more sexy with custom heatsink - I don't like the final one. The one in the middle goes to close to the socket imo.
Apart from that it is a really nice board which surely can do great with 4 cards! Nice to see "initial" 50K :up:

We got an official statement on AF about the OC Panel here. Freely translated it is just a study in a very limited number and will only be handed out to a few choosen overclockers. It will not hit the market in that current form 99% sure. I do not like them spending time on such a solution now, they should first optimize their software for RoG Connect with profile and scripting capabilities ;) After that they can do whatever they want, I'm with RC TweakIt when I get my hands on that board...

OCZ doesn't have any stock and the reapers 2166 well, they almost doesn't exist, so i am not supressed that they send you crappy sh*t. Because they have nothing else ;)

Anyway, nice benching on air btw. wanna know what this baby can do on LN2

hey eva! the rig draws about 960w with cpu under LN2.. with the cpu under air the rig draws 990w :)

the cpu isnt maxed out yet, 5.7Ghz in cpu test is the goal.. hopefully 5.9Ghz in gametests.

yeah.. maxing out the cpu in one week time, then the whole rig on LN2 :D

so, no benching for me in a while now.. stuck in London because of the vulcano :(

but, after taking the bus from London to Oslo I got home in two days. I would not recommend 1800KM for those of you that dont like bus..

did some benching just now, but the rig freezed when I opened gpuz :( got the orblink tho:

i tried just one time load the chip under vantage cpu test
6088 1.85 cpu test passed easy @ -185.
i killed 3 ESs under cpu test vantage test, no want kill this one :D

so, I finally got some help with the setup. my good friend Henning (Hifiking) helped me out! we got some pretty okey scores, and the R3E manages to clock all gpus high! my four 5870 cards are reference design, but still they do 1300++ in Vantage :D

we were running 1300 @ 1.5v and -90C.. quiet easy, maybe the R3E gives the cards enough power..? The board has two EZ molex plugs for gfx supply.

one molex should be enough for 5870s i think
but u are lucky dude 4 X 1300 no mod reference cards @ -90 is awesome freq

and u no have coldslow on ur cards, some of them loose frame lower than -70
