Intel Core i7 980X -Round number one! (Pifast, 3DM05 overall and 3DM05 single GPU WR)

Hi all!

It is time to show some results again.

Most horrible 5 months of my benching career is over. We got a chance to test these samples in intel labs in october 2009.
At that point I signed NDA and saw the performance of these monsters. Well.. everything else in benching was obsolete and meaningless after seeing,
what these can do under extreme conditions.

Best moment back then was when the Jon "killer/elmor" Sandström striked and killed the first CPU. "ohh.. that was too much" :)

did you mod the mobo against cbb?

Thanks all! The EVGA Classified does not have the bios options for cooling modes while using Gulftown and CBB mod are not needed.

It is all about the CPU. Others I tested bugged at -150C - -170C

So far looks like the worst ones will top out around 6GHz validations.

If you mean temperatures, not much.

Current pot design can hold load really well and drop is like max 10c in 1024M Wprime. During Vantage CPU test worst temperatures were around -177C°.

I did not measure the exact voltages during heavy load, but it should be pretty close to what it is in the pictures. CPU test can be passed at 6180MHz and 1.893V, but a little bit lower freq and Vcore with 4 x GPU.

Yes, my Q3QP was doing over 6500MHz on 2D, but it was too hard to control with fluctuatinc cold bug around -145C° - -155C° :D This is so easy to use.. just like AMD :p:

it's a tricky temp around 155 cause next slightly bad poor and you could be looking at -170 :rofl: if you did at least one overfill before heheheh

with -150 to -155 on my setup i just dont want the pot to see above that so that its harder for the temp to go much lower and is all good heheh
one thing i liked about UD7 is no matter what type of crash and restart i had i didnt have to reset the machine or deal with CBB it would fire up every time with my OC settings and be stable which was nice for a change lol....nothing worse than needing to bring the temp up without a torch lol to fire up again heheheh...that :banana::banana::banana::banana:s me

Exactly! Actually my current pot can be controlled easily at those temps, but you would need to have slave for doing it :) Or else you will have sore wrist pretty soon :p:

Why so much difference..:confused:

We have seen some issues with CPU score in 06 also (stummerwinter and me on AOCM) and so far I think it was related to the early bios. you have to keep in mind these was the first round of SF3D back in '09 already and I am somehow sure he nowadays get a better cpu score in 06 ;)
PS: and pls resize or thumbnail your screen...

You're on XP while he is on 7, it's not a problem, just different OSs.

Nvidia VGA will affect your 3DM06 CPU score. CPU score will be lower, if you use ATI VGA in the system.
Windows XP will affect your 3DM06 CPU score. CPU score will be lower, if you use Windows Vista / 7

Once again: Win XP + Nvidia is :up: and Win Vista / 7 + ATI is :down:

This is the most basic knowledge of 3DM06 benchmark, so now we all know it for good :D

I think this is some kind of throtteling...

6200MHz CPU Test should be around 14500 with NV Card and XP and this is more difference then any "tweak" can give you.

I saw same on one Retail Chips we tested:

5700MHz same score then our Q3QP

5900MHz lower score then our Q3QP

6100MHz (Q3QP crashed) same score as 5900MHz :shrug:
