After several BIOS modify and timing fine tuning , finally break 4100MB/sec barrier ...

Configuration :

Barton 3200+ @ 266 * 10 @ 2.0V
ChipSet Voltage @ 1.7V
Memory Voltage @ 3.3V
AGP Voltage @ 1.5V
ATI R9800 PRO @ default clock
A-DATA Winbond BH5 Single Side 256MB * 2
DRAM Timing and Driving :
11-2-2-2-2-9-12-Enable-Enable-Fast
Auto-Auto-Auto-Auto-Auto-Auto

Note : CPU is watercooled and an extra FAN for PWM airflaw is a must because there is no CPU FAN air flaw to the PWM when you using Liquid Cooling or Vapor Phase Change Cooling

Ps : For user who use the same board as me , a beta bios will be available soon , besides breaking 260mhz limitation , the new beta bios also bring back the lost bandwidth when the FSB > 200 MHz and multiplier lower than 10X ...

Most definitely should be DFI. Se the LP thread. Poster's name is on the beta bios links. So that also explains the q about 'bios modifies.'

Not only that but look at his listed memory timings. haven't seen a board with that many other than DFI for NF2's.

My inifinity will be here thursday. I also had an AN7 that I believe disliked my BH5's. So these results are two fold kicka$$ for me to see.

Oscar... are these the same beta bios being directed to by DFI? I didnt see your name mentioned on previous beta bios postings but now I been seeing it. Just wondering if you are at all affiliated or sponsored by DFI.

Great Job on everything. I'm hoping for the 230 range with crossed fingers.

its new beta bios is doing amazing things.

the question is wheather its a LP or finity.

When last bench marking a Barton 3200+ I personally ran it in excess of 3000mhz on an NF7-S v2.

Can these board sustain such high cpu speed with a high fsb speed as has been exhibited by your screen shots? Something along the lines of 11.5 x 260+.

Also is it possible to increase cpu voltage above 2v?
For phase change cooling it would help. At 2v set up is limited to 3000 mhz for benching.

This board might be able to get a little more life out of the Socket A format....:D

PS: at 3000 mhz and stock 9800 Pro speeds 20500+ on 3Dmark 2k1 if I remmberer correctly.

Board has to be up to the task though. Some people exhibit fluctuations with high vcore and vdimm. The mosfets on the board are really small. However, the DFI NForce2 -AL is a budget board though and has more standard size power reg, so maybe these mosfets are better somehow. Still the low mffg max is questionable. Might end up with other problems.

I am hoping with some cooling to get a solid 2.0v and use an infinity for my everyday box. A vmod would be nice but I think there might be a reason they dont let you use 2.3 vcore.

I wonder if DFI is where the hotshot Abit engineer went when he quit. He was the guy responsible for the KX7-333R (IIRC the board name)

Infinity owners: Is that board as quick as the NF7-S per clock in 3DMark?

Some boards make a lot of horsepower but never get it to the ground, so-to-speak. :stick:

I think you might be correct regarding the power regulation of the board..... ;)

Still it would be nice if one of these would actually allow high speeds with really high fsb at the same time.

I would definitely get one if that were the case.

xDuck, I am only stuck at 218 because of my max cpu speed. I can go higher, but I'll have to run a slower top speed. I never tried the L12 mod, I might do it. Right now I can run my mem single stick at 233 2-2-2-11 CI enabled at 2.99vdimm. Both sticks top out at 233. As soon as I go to DC DDR, I have to go to 225-227. I just got some new KHX3000 w/ BH-5, so i'll see what it can do:)

8x245 stable ... but 10x245 no ... (CPU Prime stabile 2,56GHz ...)
On Prommie my mems (CH-5) did 8x240, 11x230, 12x220 (CPU 2,78GHZ stable) ...
Why on Abit NF-7 2.0 memory max fsb isn't the same @ multi x8 .. x10 ... x11 ... x13 ??

Disable APIC.. It gave me 2.3V instead of 2.1 and boosted my Sandra from 37XX to 3890MB/s. So go for it :)

Bad for 3DMark though.. but nice for Sandra shots and Pifast. So show us your 271 1:1 :P
