Finally!
Veery interesting:up:
Country qualifications are on the way ? I saw some stuff on LinX stability as one of the requirements ???????
It was on some german website Daniel, for prequalifiers linx stability ( no word on ram , number of runs, very very vague ) and I forgot the 2nd test requirement... if I relocate it I'll post the link... I hope it's related to GooC
my bad then :p, will wade trough my gmail stuff... is that the media OC event PJ ?
No, it's an NDA event :p
We are working on rules now, here in Czech will be only online qualification ...
PS. Giga is organizing now some few other events and competitions (AMD stuff etc.) GOOC will be later ...
Nice!
What about 3rd stage of Beat Me If You Dare? Waiting for Fermi?
wohaaaa!!! no way!! :D:D:D you serious ? or i heard istanbul-Turkiye ! ? :D
i will check tomorrow asap!
in any case all you guys :welcome:
Portuguese qualification expected?
FYI - Japan country qualifiers are set for April....I'll be playing in the Asian region this year ;)
haha Albrecht :D
GOOC prep, that seems a bit off??? Normally the qualification starts AFTER Cebit for most European countries.... Besides, there is an event by quite alot of Gigabyte offices, BEFORE GOOC 2010.... GOOC qualifications for Scandinavia I wont comment, as I dont believe this is public information....
The other event, for Scandinavia will be revealed upcoming week...
Hence; OBR, Taipei office is still closed, CNY, it will open tomorrow morning...
Personal note;
I DOUBT GOOC EU finals will be before May.
UK competition is April - I'll be heading over :D

GOOC 2010 plans are in motion already? :D
Too bad Miah won't be in LA with us :(
Hey guys ;)
nice to see a new GOOC edition ;)
hey bro, this is good news indeed :D
awesome, hope to hear something soon!
Looking forward to this event !
:yepp:
They Will consider do a SouthAmerica Qualifier?
To backup my statement earlier;
http://overclocking.gigabyte.de/
Still think the dates for qualification is spot on? ;)
oh man that brings back some funny memories...."the vaseline" crew, "i know what the problem is" crew
you guys were top notch entertainers last year :up:
I look forward to seeing you all again that qualify. I'll update here on Aussie local and Asia regional details soon
Hehe, thats one way to make sure you make it to the next round.
I can just see it now...
***Someone comes on the mic and says***
"Soo, who here has a passport and or wants a trip ?"
***Only Miah puts up his hand***
"Great, you've won" says the man on the mic
:D:D:D
Also, hope you're having fun in the sun mate.
i heard round1 was PCMARK05 and round2 was RE5??? ? ?? ???
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
i am not sure, but P55 OC is a "country level competition" isn it? Not international event ...
EU+country level
it will be funny, if everyone brings there own mobo+CPU+mems, it will be amazing event :)
Actually rules depend on country...
My point was; This event will take place before we talk GOOC qualifications... ;)
This event, example in the region where I live; live event will be with P55 by Gigabyte, you can choose which version..... 2x1GB GTX1, HX850, GBT 260 SOC, Seagate HDD, and i5 processor (dont know which one)
Here's to hoping there is an open US qualifier, instead of invite only :toast:
not be fun, its not fair challenge against who have a HandPicked ES CPU. maybe if they will allow use only Retail CPUs wil be more fair for everyone.
Is it fair that if you buy 12 lottery coupons, you got bigger chance of winning then the guy next to you who buys one....???
Let me answer that question for you; Yes it is fair....
Btw; I do not think ES is allowed, Im not sure - however I know that submitting results from a none released Gulftown, will get you disqualified in a split second.
It wont solve the cherry hardware debate. I'd rather fight dumb luck in picking a CPU from a tray than go up against someone who might have £10K at their disposal to find the best CPU.
Picking from a tray on the day levels things out a bit.
If they all do the same frequency, how is that any different to the idea of a MHz cap that was totally shot down a few months ago?
:)
Just saw this thread :)... GOOC 2010 Asia Regional Final will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia in June. Looking forward to meet with all my friend again :toast:
Thats a better way of explaining it ;) Always good to weed out the total lemons in a bunch of competition chips.
someone at Intel is laughing at you thinking why....we dont give a :banana::banana::banana: :D
These people have no sense of irony PJ. :p:
I like where this is going :D

[edit]dammit mike stop deleting your posts :p:
+1 vote for Intel speed binning all the Extreme Edition CPUs to 5.5GHz 3D and giving me the only one that does 3D @ 6.5GHz :p:
Bill's trying to pull an 'Andre'
feels like pulling my leg though :p:
Woot, I cant wait for GOOC 2010.
Any more info for US?
So, you guys dont know when the qualifiers will start?
Cant wait to see some of the benching this year. Last year had some awesome overclocking.
Japan online qualifiers are already in motion...winners will go to Tokyo to duke it out in April
Thanks miahallen, but what about U.S. qualifiers?
RULES! Are completed ... i will ask Giga, can i to publish :( But i dont think so ...
But ONE thing: Platform is X58 :)
My guess is 980X + X58-UD7 & 5870 SOC.
looks like 1 million dollar chase....
One of sponsors are Intel - no AMD cards (My guess)
GOOC in UK will be held on 16 April. More information is here.
The MB will be GA-X58A-UD7.
As i said regional for Asia will be held in Indonesia ok
1st - Booooon
SuperPi 32m - 6min 26sec 593ms
CPU-Z - 6776.55 mhz
SuperPi - 6sec 437ms
SuperPi 32m - 6min 24sec 813ms
2nd - DAKARA
CPU-Z - 6760.4 mhz
SuperPi - 6sec 422ms
SuperPi 32m - 6min 26sec 219ms
3rd - MIAHALLEN :shakes:
CPU-Z - 6804.9 mhz
SuperPi - 6sec 500ms
SuperPi 32m - 6min 26sec 593ms
I guess I played my cards too early posting my scores a week ago. :(
I thought I would have better results with the special BIOS from hicookie, but I had nothing but problems with it
My only backup was the CPU-Z validation....and that was the only category I won :p:
oh man that hurts...you almost had it
damn > so Boooooom goes to regional or final round??? or do you have a live event as well?
Can I do note that these qualifier scores are just crazy? Most of the qualifying sessions are not at this level
i know :D but that's Japan for you man...HARD CORE
Aww, tough luck on that one.
However, from my experience people drop out of competitions left, right, and center so you still have a shot
