I think it was:banana::banana::banana::banana: up before it got wet:rofl:
Started life as a FTW and ended up as a WTF.
Rrr?
Someone should buy it, as a trophy.
GTX 295 CO-OP Liquid Splash WTF Edition X2.
God, I can't stop laughing - you guys read the description, right?
------------------
it got a bunch of distilled water spilled on while running
i took it aprt and dryed it off with hair dryer
my friend tried it in his rig
it started windows but it had some screens thad had dot patterns on them
i dont know much elce my only pci-e motherboard is dead
it has happened before but usually it just refuse to boot untill dry
this timeit may still have water under the chips
even if its not the water
you can most likley get it to run as 2nd card in a sli setup
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Feb-05-10 at 20:39:29 PST, seller added the following information:
the distilled water came from the pc watercooling system.
one of the fittings leaked when i was adding coolant.
its a gtx 295 co-op card
i include all of the original card cooling
it can be easily converted back to looking like factory version.
The best part of it is the pic of his rig.
It looks like a rusted out Hewlett Packard case.
" it has happened before but usually it just refuse to boot untill dry "
That is the most epic statement of 2010, thus far.
i wonder if its actually broken... or if he just doesnt know how to diagnose it....
I wonder why, a faulty user most likely ..but evga wont accept him via rma :shrug:Quote:

I can't believe that he would have the nads to put that on Ebay. Man, I have had things that looked like that before, they usually came out of a blown engine block. :ROTF:
soo many epic reply's to this comedians GPU.. those pics should have huge watermarks on them saying "..just reboot until dry " I mean thats a real no-brainer..leik..the fans spin everytime I push teh button
Im tempted to buy it... and try and boot it... imagine it actually booted... a gtx 295 for 50$...
but seriously hes got balls to post it on ebay at all... i wonder what is excuse to evga was?
"I was showering and i got this idea, why take the water to the computer, when you can bring the computer to the water?"
I think we should host the pictures in this thread. That way, when the Ebay listing goes down, we can still have lulz.
I love how he's holding it. Like " behold. "
Instead of having it resting somewhere. lol.
Think I'll buy this and have the most awesome hood ornament, just have to make sure I drive fast enough to dry it.
tada :D
Are you guys planning on purchasing the Fermi WTFs?
I've already got my fans from my Pentium II ready.
I'm not sure yet...
Is this real?
:D
Update: Lol the item condition is: Refurbished.
He didnt even put used rofl.
Come on guys, I saw this and thought the heatsink mods were pretty awesome tbh. Shame he 'spilled water' on it, yes that part is funny...
i wonder if his card is single slot solution:ROTF::rofl:
GTX295 WTF Edition©®
:rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
:D
Whats hilarious are the amount of views because its been posted on a forums.
WTF are up with the heatsinks!!!???
Wow you guys are harsh. Thats my card. I am just trying to make some cash. The fans are worth more than 50.00.
Okay, why does this Jackass have plastic zipties for the watercooling?
umm I have zipties on mine.
only on the 3/8 hose/barbs but I do have them.
it is better then nothing.
Hahaha most certainly a "WTF" Single PCB Edition :rofl::rofl:
He has 24 bids @ $81. I wonder whose brave enough...
Sid note: Zip ties are just fine; they work very well and look much better than clamps.
Wow that thing is a monstrosity!!
He says that he got water on it while filling his loop.. who on earth fills their loop while the PC is powered on?!?!
I couldn't pass it up, check out the sig!

:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:
Someone is dillusional about being able to RMA the card like eVga won't find out that it was water damaged and they are going to be very very pissed in a week or so when the RMA gets rejected and it hits them that they bought the card as-is knowing this in advance. . . . thank god for morons, the winning bidder deserves to get screwed.
Well, I have had water damaged vid cards in the past...one XFX and one BFG. I sent them back and they sent me replacements, I just never mentioned the reason the cards weren't working!! :D
Don't hold your breath on project blackout. It's still in the works but it's damn cold in Indiana and the heat went out in the shop. I have been to lazy to fix it. I do have my Lian Li hacked up real nice lol. The TJ07 is long gone.
FYI it's not realyy my card. I was just trolling a bit.
So who's the lucky winner.............come on............man up :shakes:
Bfg ;)
Its truly amazing that someone actually purchased this card, especially if they actually read the description (unbelievable)! It would be great to get a follow up story on the buyer to know what he/she did with the card (if it got RMA'ed, if it booted, if it ended up an ornament).
Thanks for being an ... You do know that others will have to pay for your stupidity?
If you break something because of your watercooling you should at least have the guts to accept your shipment of fail. Some people are lucky they don't need many brain cells for breathing and breeding.
I wonder if the lucky winner will be brave enough to leave feedback :D
Lulz. Ket had a good laugh at this :D
Lulz, nice card. How many slots is it?
Yea zip ties work fine!!!Quote:

The small zip ties actually work great for that purpose and lots of experienced builders use them.
I pull them down tight with needle nose pliers then trim the end off with two on each fitting.
They look very neat when done properly.
Plus Ive filled up while my pc was on... its fine and safe as long as your not a spastic.
Also, isnt distilled water SUPPOSED to not be electronically conductive... i.e. the whole point why its used in PC watercooling, so that if you DO spill any, then it should be fine.
I also thought the DIY cooling was actually quite inspired!
Depends if the water that dropped on the Grafix card was clean distilled water.
Once it gets dirty it becomes conductive i believe.
And then it also depends on if this guy told the truth about how it died.
Got my previous grafix card wet twice. Both times the CPu block was leaking at the fitting (stupid me forgot to switch the o-ring). Dryed it and it worked perfectly.
ps.
i also use zipties. 1 zip tie per fitting. Have used worm clamps and them Swiftech thingies. Out of the 2 the swiftech clamps r best but they are a crime to get off the fitting.
yea zip ties FTW, screw paying through the nose for fancy clamps!
distilled water is used because its much harder for bacteria to grow and has fewer chemicals in it... with that said i wash my parts with tap water and dry them then fill with F1 because it looks pretty... otherwise id use tapwater and some ptnuke or something...
Well I said I have seen the light.... I thought zip ties didn't cut it, but I was wrong. I apologize for my previous comments. I also only have used the worm clamps and the Swiftech clamps, which I agree are a pain to remove. Maybe next time I will try the ziptie idea. :)
I don't think you use destilled water in your watercooling setups. Look closely at the bottle, I think it says demineralized in small letters somewhere.
