This whole project was built around a V2x00 but this PC343 came up and it has been professionally modded by marcus at WCUK (it was his rig!) and it was at the right price, and it is exactly what I wanted looks wise, so I jumped at the chance.

after working for 12 hours solid :eek: disassembled it, cleaned it, got the motherboard waterblock installed, graphics block installed, rads in, replaced all the fans, and...er thats about it hehe. It dosent sound like i did a lot in 12 hours, but i'm meticulous.

Funny story...
I needed some vaseline or dielectric grease to insulate my CPU socket so that condensation wouldnt get in and fry it.
I couldnt find any grease, so I thought the easiest thing to do was use vaseline, I thought we had some already, but we didnt.
So anyways, I got some change and went down the road.
I nervously walked into my local shop and looked around. The woman behind the counter asked me what i was after. I said "This is going to sound strange, but all I need is vaseline."
She looked at me, clearly trying not to laugh.
"It's for my computer!" I said loudly, turning red.
"That's the best excuse I've heard yet!" she smirked.
All the customers turned around and gave me funny looks.
She slowly handed me a large tub of vaseline, chuckling to herself and I hastily paid and walked out.
The things I go through to build this bloody computer!


motherboard insulated unit set up and tested successfully! :D running for hours with no issues :D

Thanks guys! I havent OC'd or anything yet really, WC Loops need filling before i can use it ;) (This weekend probably) though when I was testing it I'll say this, on Air it refused to be stable at 4ghz @ stock volts, but 4ghz on phase was rock solid all day @stock :D less heat = less volts :up:

Oh and I'll take some properly good photos when it's done, i'll get the tripod out and everything :p

Theres vaseline directly in the socket, around the socket and then a layer of eraser, and neoprene for extra insulation / neatness :)

Hmm, update will probably be after the weekend, I've just wired a switch and a kettle lead plug (like a PSU) to an acrylic backplate so I dont have a mains plug coming directly out of my case, and I can turn the unit off/on, but my actual kettle lead cant take as many amps as the unit needs....it nearly melted... :p so i needs to buy a more robust 16a 250v one off ebay :D

If you meet the wall with it a workaround is to change the gas - if the seals are up to it, and not overdoing it which might stall the compressor or even worse destroy the compressor (valves / motor).
But I remember from the vapochill days that danfoss compressors could take a lot of punishment.

I'm sure you get help - if needed - in the phasechange forum.

the fans are fractal design 120mm fans, just give it a quick google, a few places sell them iirc

One last off topic, are they proper white or grey? :)
