ASUS Rampage III Extreme Preview
-
Thanks for sharing Andre:)
It looks great. Hope it performs well :)
-
Nic pics! Looking forward to some numbers
-
Very nice mobo Andre! thanx for pics, waiting for results! :d
Do you know when the retail is out? :D
-
Nice pictures, many thanks for the post......Next to the molex plug, it says EZ_plug 2, what will this be use for? PCIe slots?
-
So is this board going to have a "RC Blutooth" module or are they just traces on the board for a future revision?
-

Thanks for sharing Andre. This board is so crowded that I wonder how Asus will fit NF200s on it... That version, of course if it's in works, that's gonna probably a little bit larger than this.
-
The shots are great! Eagerly waiting for the OCing results! :D
-
poison me,when can be found in retail and how much is the major concern.

these plugs just are for ATI Quad or triple crossfireX.

I think ROG series will have it in the future.

I have NF200 version R3E,too. Its size is the same as E762. I am not sure it will be available in the future. It depends on Nvidia "Quad SLI" support.

Awesome Motherboard .. you know when this will be for sale ?

Thanks for sharing my friend, much appreciated. Awesome mobo and now waiting for the results.

update bios options and uncore testing on air.
-
Did you mess around with the CPU vcore or just throughout a number that you knew would work? Just curious as it seems a little high for 4.2Ghz on a D0 chip. Love the information and really appreciate you doing all this testing Andre.

this cpu vcore should be lower without problems.
-
-
wow looks like a very well thought out board indeed!
-
I'll buy one if they leave that cute little blue heatsink on it :p:
-
Thx for sharing Andre. Let's hope they hit the shelves soon. So Asus is gonna improve the IOH heatsink then, very good idea !!
Any word on max Bclock for the non extreme cpu users ?
-
I'd certainly like to see some more involved testing. Id this full digital VRM or 'hybrid' VRM as the Asus reps were saying in the other thread?
No idea why they used s775 mounting holes also. Aren't they for really low end boards? There are many good s1366 cooling solutions out now, I see no reason for it.
-
Memoryoverclocking with CL7 looks good. Remember issues with high clocks and CL7 on R2E. Seems like its getting better:up:
-
Nice update, very good numbers  Thanks for this. Any Everest tests?
-
I hope this is one of the better version of an ROG board on X58 platform

Looking at those BIOS pics, unfortunately nothing that I can see.

Uh.. I hope that's not going to be the shipping NB sink... Otherwise there's going to be some melting NBs in their future.
The naked board looks gorgeous, high quality digital PWMs make be jealous.
-
Why does the board have a 4 pin molex connection on it ???

For tri-quad SLI/CF setups.
-
BloodRage v2? Looks very much alike.. Maybe too much. Btw. whats max BCLK? :D
-
wow those are alot of caps ...nice board
-
Excellent to see, I am glad I didn't buy the R2E last night.
Thanks again Leeghoofd for letting me know
Looking forward to some numbers and date of retail release and how much coin it will cost me.
On a side note to all the people that have been around for a while.
How long does it normally take for companies like bitspower, EK to make wc blocks for these boards, any ideas?
-
andre it looks very nice , could you tell me what psu are you using for testing the board ??? just curious :D
-
I would imagine EK will have a block either at launch time or just a week or two afterwards. Same with BP.
-
Might be a stupid question. But, will the upcoming 6 core Gulftown 32nm be supported by this board?

Yes

-
Any picture of the box with all the decorations?
-
Let`s see how it performs :)
-
at last mobo with DirectFET's packages :D. Btw, why nobody solder pins on monitoring points? Isn't it much more to catch probe lead to pin, and pushing probe to small pad, which can jump and short near elements? It's not that expensive to do :D
-
Looking forward to this. Love my RE 1 :yepp:
-
I hate integrated sound...
-
Thanks Utnorris thats exactly what I wanted to hear.
-
Thanks for your information about memory over clocking. Because I'm going to buy rampage 2 extreme in next 3 months, so I must analysis it at many the forums, before I make my last decision. hehe, I hope its price will low a little bit when I put my hand on it ...:D

Thanks for sharing Andre. Definitely a beast, nb_crazy sounds fun :P
Do you happen to know its release date (approx.)?
-
Good design and components but:
a_I don't like the trend of putting extra useless 8pin eps connector in high end boards, you don't need 6000W for a cpu :p:
b_Useless molex over there(in the final version there will be two)
-
^
There are already two. One is at the bottom of the board facing downwards.
-
any word on the gene version of the rampage extreme III ???
-
-
-
Only single LAN port, weird.. :(
-
I am sure you've been busy but have you put this board on cold yet? Keen for some updates when available :)

Why is it weird?
The Asus soundcard wasn“t that good:) , and a good soundcard aint that expensive for people that can buy this motherboard , as rumored will this be comig out in March?

I guess you missed this part of my Sig. I own the PCI-e X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty, my point is that I could use the PCI-e slot that was used for the Asus sound-card, the new version does not have this slot now
-
You can use the top 16x slot for the card, so it doesn't matter.....
-
I would like to know hows the BCLK clocking on this board , my last RIIE was a lot of fun and good for unlocked cpus but for locked cpus i was limited at 217 BCLK on LN2 no matter how much tweaking i did, very bad BCLK clocking board , if that issue its resolved this will be my next board if not i will go with the next Classified that comes out as classified Rules high BCLK Clocking and no other board can touch it ;). I really like this board but thats my only concerned.

Yes I know that, my point to the other guy was that on-board audio sucks IMHO and the ASUS Rampage Extreme & ASUS Rampage II Extreme did not have on-board audio .

Yeah, I see what you mean, but I used my titanium creative card in top slot on my rampage II extreme since my waterblock lets me fit it....
-
Hi AndreYang!
Thank you so much for those nice detailed pictures. http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/artists...C_ThankYou.gif
I might buy ASUS Rampage III Extreme to my gaming computer project.
Regards, WOLF.

Im not "other guy" im Raiden please Respect Mr dctokyo:cool: :)
Yes onboard audio sucks of course:up:
But Asus X-fi also sucks compared to auzentech and other good brands of sound cards, its better than onboard yeah so you got my point there as well:up:;)
Ps: i dont read signatures .
I would have bougth this board but Asus you took to much time to release it in the market , why releasing p55 motherboads and no X58 why?????:rofl:
-
They are all waiting the launch date of the gulftown cpu to release their x58 next-gen mobo, that would make alot of sense. And not all company do like to give preview of their upcomming stuff.
-
Do we know when this board will be on the shelves and at what price?
I have the first Rampage Extreme and i am interested in this motherboard.
-
Yeah, This looks promising :)
I've Owned Giga,Asus,DFI.
And i Actually enjoy asus the most, not sayin they are the best, I just like them, most my boards have been Asus, maybe i got used to the bios and how it works? so this looks really interresting!
Owned a DFI now since Summer, and i dont fully like, dont know why, thought i would, I was all hyped up for it, never had a DFI, and all fuzz about it when X58 came made me want it, but after a while having it, i say no..
so really hope for this to come sooner than later :) , when do Gulf hit retail? probably then as all say, should we see this board on the shelfs too.
Cheers!

It should be released at the end of March. In regards to price, how much are you willing to pay for it. :D

Less than current Rampage II Extremes:p:
-
I bet it'll cost $680 to $700 here in Australia  for such a price it better perform damn well :yepp:

It depends on its performance. If it's really good,i could give up to 500$.
But of course,i'll wait to read its reviews first, from what i have read it must be Asus flagship for the X58 chipset. It will show if it's that good.
-
Sweet looking board for sure, don't think its good enough to get rid of my classified for, but sweet none the less.

if it does PCIE 110 ,maxbclk would heavily defend on your CPU
otherway it could theoreticaly reach 250 bclk and go over it
its possible only if cpu likes that
-
they use the 775 mounting holes for compatibility with older water cooling setups...kinda nice!
-
Does anyone know when these are released in the uk! Currently selling my i5 rig and want to go to a x58 setup!

Wow!! I counted 8 4-pin fan headers!
Now if only Asus Q-Fan allows full manual temp/voltage/duty cycle settings instead of the current crappy selections and range...

May be not for now ,coz this mobo is so heavily packed with so many power ports .......................... mini version is going to be an impossible task ...
Anyways Im also interested if its possible
-
Great pictures. Looking forward of getting one of these with the 6 core cpu... I love my current rampage extreme II.
-
