Happy with Gulftown

I feel happy with the initial results of the Gulftown.
I used a Rampage 2 Extreme (many time after several months with a Classified :) ...).
I think I reached a good value to the memory and NB

Its possible i can be better with the EVGA (i don t know) but i am really impressed.

Nices times and scores there mate, those Gulfys are a monters. w8 some 3D Scores soon :). that would overkill any 3DMarks Scores paired with some 5970 or 5870 QuadFire.

I am using a water setup with a gulffy and 5ghz is out of the question. I have the same 3.07ghz one as him and the best i can get is 4.5-4.6Ghz 24/7. Its a hot cpu i am using chiller combo btw.

Max 1.56~1.57V, but is really hard to work higger than 1.55 at Rampage 2 Extreme.
I think Classified can be set around 1.~6 or more, but is dangerous.

You are lucky - not too many Q3QP's scale that well with voltage. And some die easily ;)
Watch out for the RIIE and LLC, at some point it starts overshooting like crazy.. killed one of my Westmeres :rolleyes:

But sadly running something more demanding resulted in a freeze, will try and use DICE instead of chilled water but thats for another day. The gain from 4.6ghz to 5.1ghz is also good, my original score for the 4.6ghz i9 was 41.02 and 19692....

I was told a new stting will soon come in my general way, will try and get that asap and OC the hell out of it.. :)

BTW expect the retail i9 aka i7 980x to be made in a better 32nm process than the i3/i5.

This is wrong i dont know why wprime reads my speed as 5ghz while its 5.2ghz??

Also i noticed that chilled water had little effect around this speed, i had a better experience with the older stepping around 5.1ghz under water.

NB 3000Mhz and RAM 800Mhz with 7/8/7.

Also since you are a champion :D i wanted to ask about voltage when i applied "In BIOS" 1.37V but cpuz shows 1.32v, in the second screen i applied "In BIOS" 1.46v but cpuz shows 1.41v and in the last one i applied 1.54v but cpuz shows 1.49v.

Here the same...the bios settings never keep in CPUz
You can measure directly in the MB (check the measure points)
