Gigabyte GTX 260 SOC + Liquid Nitrogen NexGen Style!

Today I started overclocking for the Gigabyte Beat me if you dare competition.

This morning I started with stock air benching in 3D Mark Vantage. to my surprise with stock cooling and stock Voltages I achieved a max stable core clock of 775MHz, 1300MHz Memory, and a Shader clock of 1710MHz.

This is rather impress considering the stock core clock for the SOC card is 680MHz vs the reference clock of 576MHz. Nearly 200MHz of overclocking headroom!!!!

My impressions this far lead me to believe Gigabyte has a card worthy of the Overclock name! (Move over ASUS TOP?)

Next I apply heat sinks to the two secondary thermal zones

Kneaded eraser is used to prevent condensation or buildup of ice on the PCB

I have also coated the back of the card and used RAMsinks on the rear MOSFETS

With a max stable core clock of 840MHz at -120c The only thing holding me back are these stock voltages!

I have a Vmod in the works for the GPU Core and will be posting some EXTREME GTX 260 Benchmarks.

Being held back by the stock voltages, Im currently working on a Vmod and will have some very nice benches to post :)

yeah man your looking good so far with this result,

i find that the eraser CONDUCTS heat or in your case cold, so you might be hurting your ram clocking there but conducting cold onto that area... because generally speaking gddr doesnt always clock well when its cold..

You lucky!.....My Gigabyte 260 SOC is the WORST core ever.... :(
MAX on stock is 702MHz core and at 1.25V goes up to 727MHz with a HUGE heatsink on the core...... :(

I really don't like this RE5 Benchmark..... 4th time in a row i have tried to take a screen shot of the score and the program closes out to the main menu.........

You know what is worse? NVIDIA driver crashing during the score sequence. I had a few killer runs and this happened, not coldbugging the card or OVP tripping, driver just crashes. I really hate the RE5 benchmark, is it 100% inconsistent. I had a better score at 975MHz core 2000MHz shader 1323MHz memory than at 1033MHz core 2200MHz shader 1356MHz memory -_-

Ya, this benchmark is really making me angry! I keep having similar driver crashes around 97% test completion and at the score screen

Blue pcb=ewwww 840mhz on lnd stock volts? not bad but i would of expected more i can get 790 out of my watercooled 260 stock for benches

Normally I would have a lot more time to bench and tweak, but over the weekend my store was burglarized and nearly half of my equipment and product was stolen. They even managed to take a few of my benching rigs and some CPU/GPU Pots...... making it a little hard to bench right now with out all my nice tools and hardware :( Currently neck deep in paperwork for insurance and the police department....

Im going to try and get one more bench in b4 the end of the week.
