Phenom2 555 BE C3 stepping into Windows at 6325MHz Biostar TA785GE 128M under LN2

Yoko bought that board for her new HTPC ,its one of the cheapest solution in the market ,but its not only about money ,she got TA785GE 128m because we like and trust Biostar,but before building the new HTPC we need to torture a little the pocket board :D
Well, we had only been playing around with the motherboard for approximately few hours.

Already the processor was stable at 6.1GHz under LN2 and we was trying to boot into Windows at 6.3 GHz.
After a few voltage tweaks and HTT speed adjustments, we managed to get into Windows and fire up CPU-Z at 6325 MHz speed (230MHz X 27.5 multiplier).

the cores can be unlocked by that cheapo and amazing board and we can fly high of course ;)

C3 instantly looks very promising.

Dual Core which can't become a Quad because it's not strong enough does 6.64 Ghz on an $80 board under LN2. ~7 Ghz under LHe? I like it.

Amazing stepping by AMD. Can't wait for other CPUs with C3 stepping.
But this cheap setup can break 6.5 GHz+? That's fantastic! Keep updating us :)

A prime stable result with air would be more interesting. We've seen many similar LN2 result in the past.

for internet maybe yes :), but for stability think, upo 4 GHz with C3 u will use 1.475-1.5V

That would be nice. Along with NB @ 2800/3000 at a reasonable voltage and some ddr3 1600 6-6-6 or 1800 7-7-7.

I can't wait to get hands on C3 Phenom! I was saving for that upgrade since I got my excellent 940BE!

If things will go well I will also jump on to DDR3 platform.

BTW what is default NB voltage on that CPU? I'm asking because my board lacks regulation for that :mad:

well ,i still using my old and good Yorkfield and i will replace soon for a Lynnfield,nothing against Phenom but i prefer Intel :D
i like Bloomfield but its energy-wasting for me
i will choose Lynnfield cz its everything what i need
cheaper than Bloomfield ,cooler,fast and energy-efficient

Year a cheap i5 might be the best solution for me when I am mostly gaming.

My Q6600 have done well though with 3.6 on air and now 3.75 on water (Not prime stable, but gaming stable^^) Just wonder how much the i5 will go on water, is a i5 better clock for clock than a Q6600 btw?
