yes dual channel but i'm guessing to have more RAM on the system or maybe max it out with smaller capacity RAM to reduce costs

I see your point. This whole NDA is going useless now. I'd prefer a full review by now, rather than some leaks all over the forum.

It'll be better for Intel to lift it sooner. P55 is a new form of an old tech., they're even making it age more.:D

Or is the NB Speed from i7 CPUs higher?

What I find more important atm is OCing 24/7 on air / water. Could you use any of these and tell us if it's worth getting these chips for anything other than benching? i7 920 seems more attractive to me atm.

i5-7xx has maximum memory multiplier of 2:10; Uncore multiplier is 15x (1,5x memory)
i7-8xx has maximum memory multiplier of 2:12; Uncore multiplier is 18x (1,5x memory)

one last Q.. with so many p55-udx is the ud6 the highest end p55 from giga ?

i did some air already
seems to clock the same RAM and bus as far as i can tell

didnt really push the chip as this puny stock cool is :banana::banana::banana::banana:!!! Definitely need an aftermarket cooler for it fellas

UD6 is top end correct
i also have UD4P it think .... will try that too when i get a chance

Dinns22 - it's always a plessure to hear from you.

Vcore seems litle higher than i7 920 at the 5.XXX Freq.
My i7 920@5.2GH needs only 1.45v (D-ICE, Maybe on SS the CPU needs more )

We will have to wait a little more to see some D-ICE results . and than we can compare it.

I've got a new bios and a kit of some new RAM binned for P55(coming in a few days) :up:

I'll do some proper benching with those and see where we're at :D :yepp:

i spoke to some retailers here in Sydney yesterday who are saying CPUs are going to hit the channel today in larger numbers (unofficially) LOL!

I'm using a P7P55D Deluxe and a i870 atm, pretty dissapointed so far, cant really get it vantage stable over 4.2ish.

Can boot around 4.6.

Memory is great though, my elpida hypers can boot @ 2.5ghz cl10-11 no problem @ stock volts.

so i flashed to F4D bios and i can get turbo working with 22x but not lower multies which is ok i guess

here is what the board spits out in 32M SuperPi at 5GHz with stock timings with some Kingstons i have here

i am still on SS cooling :)

WHAT? 7min 31.219s at 5GHz. Nice, either you found a sweet config or Gigabyte got tired of always being slow in SPi. :D Yes I see you're running some really nice RAM config but still...

F4D bios seems to be pretty sweet. :)

Seems like sub 7 min would be possible on a cascade with P55. 8xx series really look to be rather benching friendly, not any slower than 9xx and pair it with some nice future dual channel (2300+ :D) kit and you may find slight advantage for benchmarks like this.
