Today, we'll be using our Biostar X58 testbed ,the OS Microsoft Windows XP Pro and the benchmarking applications Everest v4.60 and SuperPi 1.5mod.
The G.SKILL Perfect Storm were clocked at DDR3 2000MHz with 7-7-7-21-1T,for stable performance vDIMM was set to 1.68v and DDR3 1900MHZ with 6-7-6-21-1T timings at 1.88vDIMM.

Hiwa have you tried the G.SKILL (PS) CAS7??

As far as I remember hiwa had the CL7 Perfect storm triple kit and it could do exceptionally high CL7 frequencies at only 1.54 - 1.65V ;)

On my Kit ar Hyper too i can upload a Pic from the chips i hade removed the Hs wen i at home
But i have problem this kit works stock i have Freez at LinX
Witch Memtest86 Version works 100% with i7 and 6Gb Tree Chanel?
And Cl7 only at 1,75VDimm or i had only 2-4Gb Ram

Just quick tests my 1st afternoon playing with i7 and classified. I love these handy voltage pads! Will try to add tighter timings and linx for 12gb asap. Or if you want any specific test to compare let me know.

Depends on your HW, but my 3520 needs around 1.42v CPU VTT and 1.64v DRAM both measured with DMM. And that is 12GB @ 7-7-7-18. But that is not stable for much more than 1m or sth. You would need to jack DRAM and VTT up for more action. 1000mhz with trcd 7 is not very common way to run, 8 is a much different story. :)

Reviving an old thread for a few questions. I was wondering if any of you who ran this ram for a while with high vtt (1.45v+) suffered any degredation of the IMC? With 12gb of this stuff, if I can get it to do it, it will likely need 1.5vish vtt. I need the cpu to last until at least sandy bridge comes out. Have you been running many months at high vtt with no change in required volts? Mine is watercooled. Also, do the Xeon IMC's (45nm) do better than the i7 line, meaning can get higher memory speed with less volts? Thanks!

i used very often 2.1V too
and it didnt degrade
eevry volt gave more power

My 6G set is doing great after at least six months of good beatings now with no loss. Great stix.:cool:

^^ what kind of cooling are you using for those volts on the vdimm? water or ln2?

I run mine with just the standard Gskill cooling fan with no problem.

How many sticks? I found another set, so now have 6 sticks. I have my system apart right now for a watercooling rebuild, but am looking forward to more testing. I hope to see those types of results with 6 sticks. Memory will be air cooled with Gskill fan.

Hey guys, I have been messing with 2 sets of these in a R2E with a 920. Actually didn't too much ram testing in yet, but was able to do 1600 6,7,6 timings on a 920 @ 200 bclk, 21 multi. I stupidly didn't take any screenshots before I tore the system down. My system is in a home built case with a steel frame, and one of my weld joints broke. When I put it back together, I was going to put in a rev1 UD7 board and a 970. Is the UD7 known to be a good ram clocker?

The UD7 is an awesome board though Asus seems to hold there own very well with mem clocking. In my RIIIE I have had my 6G set of perfect storm as high as 1912mhz at 6-7-6-21 no problem or 2250mhz at 8-9-8-21. Its actually faster then this new 4G set of F3-17600CL7D that I tested last night which is very fast as well. Very good quality ram for the money.

Use heat gun and then very gently pry off with thin flat head screwdriver.

My 12GB of this mem is memtest stable after 1.2 years @ 1660/CL6. It's in my primary machine on classified, flawless MGH-E Hyper ICs.

Hi friend! No sir they are not. And they are not good for SB. They are Elpida BBSE IC's, but not optimized for 2nd generation CPU's. For that Buy some Ripjaws X. They are Elpida BBSE but good for SB ;)
