What do you think about Corsairs first attempt on the chassi market?
How much radiator can you put in it? Do you think a 120.4 is possible in the roof just by cutting out a fourth fan hole?

its looks pretty elegant. Bit-tech had a great first look at it. It may have some small issues but its really a top-notch first attempt at breaking into the case market.

Im debating on getting either this, or the Silverstone RV 02, both should hit the market in the US the same time.
Finally somebody makes a case with excellent cable management! Too bad it costs that much though...
It looks absolutely great for water cooling, but I'd never touch it for air. The design is very nice though, love the simplicity!

i like some of the feathers of the case like the cable management the separated compartments but i think that all the rubber grommets take away from the case and there are way to many the side panel relies system looks a bit cheesy to but i have not got to use it yet so i may be wrong and personal i would prefer the hot swap to be rotated and the exterior is not very aesthetically pleasing but with a bit of modding a lot of this could be fixed and all in all the case is very nice
I think that the rubber grommets are removable, but I'm not sure. I don't really like them either, and plan to remove them, but if they can't be, I won't complain either. I personally like the subtle look of the exterior. It's not overbearing or underbearing.
Why would you want to remove the grommets? Most of them are hidden behind the mobo anyway. They are there so you can unisleeve your cables and tuck them behind the board.
I just don't really like the look of them. They look cheap and I think it would look cleaner to have smooth, rounded metal edge around the wires than the rubber grommets. Just personal opinion, could change when I see them in person.
i like the minimalistic look that corsair is bringing to the table with this case. I also really like the stock case LC support, it's a nice touch that some of the case manufacturers are starting to gravitate towards. Including fan mounts that are spaced for Rads ultimately will lead to better sales because it allows people to enter into the Realm of LC without having to hack up their cases. It's a win-win design if you ask me!

One thing we won't skimp on is quality. This case is actually a pretty good aircooling case, too. Especially if you put three 120mm low-speed fans up top. On the one in the lab, I turned the rear fan around as an intake (like I would if the H50 were installed) and used a large aircooler on the CPU. With the top 3 fans installed, my CPU temps were identical to my old case (TJ09) and my GPU temps for a GTX280 SLI setup were about the same as well.Quote:

Actually you could do either that or blow it towards the front of the case, because there's a 140mm fan on the bottom blowing up. So the airflow would go out the top, with 3x120mm up top you're just sucking all the hot air right out of the case.Quote:

I think the back fan blowing into the case a good option if there was a mesh/dust foam supplied (as in the botton intake).
I do believe corsair in paying alot attention to such details and inputs from "us".

I have nothing but respect for corsair products. and this is a very welcome addition to the market. It looks very mature. Black interior "@ last someone is listening" I am looking forward to using one for my next build :D

This is going to be my next case, and will be perfect for a watercooling setup. :)
I LOVE the fact that you can get to the back of the cpu without pulling the board. Also, a 3x120 rad on the top will get great even though I need to squeeze another radiator in there somewhere. All the cable management options are great. Plus since the inside is already black so I won't have to pay for powercoating. I really am looking forward to this coming out.
And I am interested... finally something that can replace my STC-T01???

they are also releasing a smaller version of this case i am led to believe, so those not interested in watercooling might want to keep an eye out for it.
My CM690 with a 3x120 radiator fits inside this case with ease! Would be definitely on my shortlist for my next case since I'll stick with watercooling for some time I think.

I have mixed emotions about the 800D. Some of it's concepts are clever and even WiNDy-like. The problem is the attention to compartmentalization and silent performance left very little room, despite the case being so big, for air intake for the main compartment. This combined with passive unfiltered vents means if you put exhaust fans in the top it will not only be overwhelmingly negative in air pressure, it will suck dust in and even limit the effectiveness of exhaust fans.
Too few intake and too many exhaust fans seems to be common in many cases though. I really don't get why so many manufacturers don't think that out better, esp in cases that have passive, unfiltered vents. When mentioning this to Corsair the guy said the top vents can be used as exhaust or intake. He suggested installing addon fan filters between the fans and case if used as intakes and dust is a concern. I said they'd be a lot easier to clean if they were installed on the outside of the case.
Either way you cut it the main compartment of this case has very unbalanced airflow unless you leave it stock with mediocre intake/exhaust, that he could not refute. It's a nice try for a first case, but I think many will either be using it with WC or are unaware of it's tradeoffs. Hexus did a fairly thorough thermal test on it and it only performed average. I expect more from a case at this price point. Microcenter has it for $223 from what Corsair said though.
Corsair 700D has normal disk enclosure instead of hotswap one and windowless side door (which is orderable separately for 800D aswell btw). & probably priced 50$ less. Other specs (inluding case dimensions) left same. 700D @corsairQuote:
