Q6600 @ 4.976GHz On 4 Cores

Hi, yesterday me and my mate Pcuser benched my Q6600 on his cascade :D I used my Gigabyte UD3R, which i'm amazed still worked since some of the CAP legs were burnt out around the CPU.

On hwbot, 11th in the world, 1st in Australia, 2nd best on 4 cores.

I started to run out of time, so next time we'll use LN2 on the CPU and dice on the NB. I'll also remember to disable some cores to see what I get.

I forgot to take a screenshot at 4.976GHz, however I got one at 4.932GHz.

my q6600 does 3.8 on air Vcore 1.56 temps max 73 on prime idles usually around 39 im happy with that considering its summer. :)

pretty good chip. nice clock for 65nm quad

Yeah we had a good time :) I can't wait for LN2 either, i'm thinking 5.1GHz on 2 cores. Shame though we wasted so much time on my classified, which could be dead now, I'll test it tomorrow. I didn't even have any volts high.

Anyways, i wanted to tell mine is a 1.325v VID one... not very lucky i have to admit. It still does 9x400=3600Mhz with 1.5v (havent tried higher with my WaterCooling system). I'm disapointed i couldnt reach 4gigs but now you made me even more disapointed ! thanks :p:

I just had one question : what is your VID and your BATCH ? I'm very curious

Thanks everyone, the VID is 1.2375v, however it does 0.95vcore @ stock GHz. The batch number is L747A437.

that is actually one of the first G0 (SLACR) steps, isnt it ? i found out that from the B3, all G0 were great, but by the time, they became worse. Probably because intel left the quality aside and knew that the Q6600 had a good image and people would buy one... a shame

Guys come on, how come you all got awsome quad cores when mine needs 1.5v to reach 3.6ghz under damn water ??? :eek: i really aint lucky, and my VID is awful :(

Mine is in the newer packaging, with the batch : L811B323 (VID = 1.325v)
my brother has one in the older packaging, batch : L738B427 (Vid = 1.278 or something like that).

Do you think his Q6600 overclocks well ? :P i'm curious to find out (he doesnt overclock so i could change my Q6600 against his) :) thanks for reply

CB= -125° temps ln2 ~ 120° @ 1,75VCORE

Curious what fsb you can hit with the GB. The enabled cores are not that interesting because that depends only on the cpu and not the board..try 2 or one..the fsb is impressive enough for that old quad :)

I didn't have time to actually test max FSB last time, though I will this time with LN2.

Im awaiting a Giga UD3p should be here monday. New toy! Will have some fun seeing what my G0 can do on a more robust platform now. 3.8 24/7 is the goal, over 3.6

the chip i have can boot and run 32m super pies on 2 cores @ 4.1ghz on air..with semi aggressive voltage.

will be fun to get back in the oc seat, been away for a while. Even if im just aircooled lawl

picking up an E8300 from a friend, he is in financial trouble and is selling alot of crap. Will have a dual to bork.
