OH
MY
GOD
Time to buy a new rad!
http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...oducts_id=1266
Here is available since 18.07 :) And the price is much better !
would that fit in a atsc 840 at the top
i think a new size is a step back, sales will be low until cases can accept them, but that also means new cases and people buying new hardware, so it might help build business, if people are willing to pay
it will be a slow an painful transition to 140mm, but i think we can all see it coming in the next 5 years
I will buy it ! Will add to my PA120.3!
Yeah, I was going to get one of these from Gilgamesh reviews forums sponsorship but time constraints + a late release Borked it for http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/5181/flowcutlogos.jpg - I will still be getting the rad and my next build with feature it :)
Gonna to get 2 of that ... have been waiting for a while ... Hoooray!
Anyone know if it's available in the US yet?
I'm betting you could get MM to do a UFO front panel with 140mm fan holes instead of 120s with proper mount spacing for this rad, or?
I 've got 4 Koolance 140mm fans in an ABS-Li Canyon 695 case that move a ton of air while not being all that loud compared to some of the 120s I've used in the past.
Definitely would get this rad if MM can do a 140 UFO front panel..
I know a guy in Kingston new hampshire who can CNC route you a 140mm fan panel for your MM for 75 bucks - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=229320
Definitely welcome more rad surface area....would like to reduce the ~7C delta air to water on my i7 after 1h 180W (prime) load with 6 fans x 1500 rpms, and i am maxed on my noise tolerance/fan speed.
My next build will be either 420 or 480 rad for cpu and probably same for gpu just in case they get hotter. But need more 140 fans and no performance/noise data on them.
MM ascension is a monster...can you guys carry them fully built up and down stairs reasonably easy?
But looks like future case options for holding 2 big rads without sandwiching and compromising perf. is going to be very few, MM being one, ? Mick ever gets his case built with tower that holds 2 big ones.
Nice one, unfortunately not in stock. (yet)
In related news, the Thermochill 120.4 is available on SWC: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/thpa4xhipera.html :up:
What a ridiculously tiny rad.
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/2092/lulzxx.jpg
Get som REAL rads, come on!
im getting the feeling thats a photo shop?
Nope it's the real deal, Thermochill PA140.6 FTW :up:
http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1914/pa140laine.jpg
PA140.10 FTW! :up:
Yeah I'll stop ruining the thread now. :shakes:
i would like to buy this large rad :D
will laine's design fit in my tj07 i wonder?
i have a 120.2 and 120.3 already but i think this would be a great single rad solution for most extreme builds
thermochill have undercut tfc's monsta by quite a considerable margin - all we need is proof that it works just as well and thermochill will walk away with the money imo
No I'll stop ruining the thread now
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/3063/yodawgq.jpg
:rofl: This thread is killing me.....I love it!
142mm should fit perfect in the cd rom mounting
I ain't giving up that easy!
http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/2434/thermolove.jpg
what pump you gonna use with that?
He gonna use a DDC classified :D
I am waiting for a quadfire rad assembly now! :rofl:
Appreciate that Snipe. That was the funniest thing I've read all day.
Can't want to see the reviews pour in on the PA140.3 though
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2153/lainesparta.jpg
Things are starting to get way out of hand now.
This thread got funny fast. Great job guys! LOL! :D :D You'd need a Tri-SLI/CrossfireX/Sparta!! pump setup to move water through all those fins.
will this rad be able to mount onto 3x120mm 15mm spacing patterns?
that's awesome!!!
hahahahahahhaha :rofl::ROTF::rofl::ROTF::rofl::ROTF::rofl::ROTF:
ZOMG didn't think I would laugh that hard in the morning (it's around 9:15 here in the NL)
hahahah... but serious, I'm considering the 140.3 or the (also new) 120.4... it would fit in my case easily and be a bit cheaper as well :)
I think I'll go with the 120.4
The xzibit reference had me in stitches, then the Tri SLI edition wiped me out, lol. Well done.
140.3 has larger surface area
I'd like to see a 140.2 for smaller cases.
I got a good laugh out of this thread, especially the tri-sli 140x10 rads. Way too funny.
For the money, I think I'm just going to stick with my plain old dual MCR320s. I spent way too much money on my current case anyway.
it looks like a feser monsta......(please dont hurt me)
about time
but didn't they once say this would never exist?
there're already black ice gtx 280 (2x140) and 420 (3x140) radiators ...
imo, black ice and thermochill are about as opposite as radiators can get. Bout time a low fin density radiator came out, besides Feser's overpriced stuff
The only problem I see with 140mm rad's (besides the size ofc) is the lack of good 140mm fans. Or have I missed something?
Killer thread btw.
Well 140mm GTs dont exist but I should have noted that noise level of these 14cm yates is comparable to 1850rpm GTs (sidebyside compare)
And that is why I am glad I still have my RD-30 :p.
first thing that came to mind was 6 140mm YLs on the 140.3.
Wonder if my Stacker 101 could take it top mounted ;P.
New TC Rad = Stacker Rev. 140.3 :up:
Correct. I don't care what anyone says atm but there are no decent 1500-2000rpm fans. You have the full blown insano 40dba+ fans and then you have the silent ones which don't do it for me. I guess we have to wait until 140mm becomes more common in case design so that manufacturers have a valid reason to start producing a wider range of 140mm fans.
These are in stock now at sidewinder for those that are interested.
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/thpa420ra.html
so what the best fans for pa140.3? Yate loon D14SM14, any other choice?
xigmatek 14cm.. don't know any others...
Anyone tested this rad yet?
Whoopsy.. double post...
just hooked up my d14sm14 to my fan controller - very very nice, exceptionally quiet even at full speed actually, for 5 fans it sounds like 2 120mm M's and thats being harsh
main question here, how much rpm will be good for this rad, or how much cfm
i can get scythe maru 1,200rpm 26.58dBA 61.30CFM, is it ok or d14sm14 would be better?
and 1000 rpm won't be efficient to use, or i may include 1000 rpm in my search also?
You might want to double check those. I'm not sure those Scythe Maru fans would work with a 140mm-based radiator.
The reason why is because those Maru fans have mounting hole spacing that is the size of a 120mm fan, not a true 140mm fan.
As a result I don't think it will mount to a 140mm-based rad as the hole spacing would be all wrong.
From the Maru's specs:
Quote:
Features:
* 140mm Fan with 120mm Screw Holes
Compatibility for 120mm case fan holes to be the versatile 140mm case fan in the market.
here... I just assumed on the nomenclature, I didn't check it sorry: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=20771
may be it was already said, but perfomace-pcs will not offer Termochill anymore - I wanted to buy 140.3 there :(
So what do you say, better to get a 120.4 or a 140.3, which one would perform better?
so ... is thermochill is making a comeback?
I would guess the 120 radiator would cool better because of more surface area over the 140.
How about hydro restriction, is there big difference between 120.3, 120.4 and 140.3?
Will be DDC1T 10w enough with Heatkiller LT and NB block?
OK. This radiator is big.. but what fans it can take? I mean what 140mm fans do you guys know ?
I know these, wonder which would be the best:
* Xigmatek XLF-F1453 LED 1000 RPM 63.6 CFM 16 dBA
* Sharkoon 1500rpm 33db(A) 140.7m³/h
* Sharkoon 1200rpm 27db(A) 109.6m³/h
* Sharkoon 900rpm 22db(A) 82.8m³/h
* Yate Loon D14SL-12 1000 RPM 46.0 CFM 25 dB(A)
* Yate Loon LED version (which is same as above)
I just got reply from Noctua about their 140mm fan NF-P14 - it will be available Q4-09/Q1-2010..
However look on photo.. it will be round fan, with 120mm screw holes... so don't think it would be ok for 140mm radiators....:(
http://www.dvhardware.net/news/noctu...computex09.jpg
Yeah, those Noctua fans will have the same problem as the Scythe 140mm fans = 120mm hole spacing so it won't work on 140mm rads. The only 1400m rad I can think of it would work on is the TFC Monsta because its shroud has holes for both 140mm and 120mm fans.
I hate Noctua and Scythe for their good fans with 120mm mounting holes :mad:
Did anyone test this radiator? Anyone bought it?
gilgameshreviews.com tested it, I will be getting one in the next 2 weeks supposedly
140.3 is better than 4 x 120 ---> more surface area on the 140.3 and the fan blade area to motor hub area ratio on 140mm fans is greater by a large amount .
120.3 = 43,200 mm^2
120.4 = 57,600 mm^2
140.3 = 58,800 mm^2
120mm fans is 6.09:1 fan blade area to motor hub area ratio
140mm fans is 8.64:1 fan blade area to motor hub area ratio
then by calculation of fan blade area ((Pi*fanradius^2)-(pi*hubradius^2))*#fans) we can say utilized area.
120.3 = 29,127 mm^2
120.4 = 38,837 mm^2
140.3 = 41,373 mm^2
therefore PA140.3 is ~6% better than PA120.4 @ equal fan speed and design on each (120mm yate loon and 140mm yate loon for instance)
I am quite sure one of the part manufacturers on this board could whip up a quick adapter that would allow those Noctua fans to fit 140mm fan screw spacing... at the same time, their bracket could seal off the remaining area the fan doesn't cover, so all of the fan's air is directed into the radiator. This would also be nice in a shroud format.
I actually thought about it few days ago, that would be a great idea, using your favourite 120mm fans and having that bracket as shroud!..

here we go, PA 140.3 and LL PC-P80
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/8803/img4682q.th.jpg
this thing is bigger than I've expected :shakes:
Nice... still looks huge in that case.
Is there a proper review of that radiator?
No proper review yet, only the one at gilgamesh but that isn't a review at all
SNiiPE_DoGG is right, he nailed it spot on:)
It is a bit better than 120.4 - but it would be easier to install 130 rad than longer 120.4...
Agree. It is easier to fit wide rad, rather than long.
I dunno how I've calculated height but I hoped that I will have enough room for one hdd cage with 140.3 in P80 :D now I see that I have place only for dvd or fan controller and I am glad - with 120.4 I wouldn't have even this :)
