For a first test on a beta/ES board, I think it's safe to say there's nearly no CPU nor GPU bottleneck, even with SLI with todays best GPUs at least, compared to X58.
-
Cool benching tray ;)
Only thing I don't like so much is those power components sneaking into our CPU socket area!

Looks like it. Course, this also kills the idea that i5 can't be overclocked as well :p:. Cool deal. I might have to invest in one of these eventually :).

mhhh nothing new there... nothing at all  : /

Check the video.

Hmm..insulation style and that temp meter looks familiar.. :)
-
are results from these boards under NDA still?
-
I would like a pair of MARS cards:shocked:

Hope Marcus doesn't read this, but I recognised him by his shirt and the way it wraps itself around the body of the overclocker

Yeah, you can see the similarity here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...38&postcount=1
-
Nice! Can't wait to see more cpu numbers.
-
I recognized that thermometer, just like SF3D. Also, I know someone's been somewhere some time.
-
heheheh lol well spotted massman hehe
Tony are you asking or suggesting?
-
pfff whats the big deal, as if performance would be diferent from 1366 :P
just show some results and say its 1366... whos gonna prove you wrong? :D

unfortunatelly YES, i have lot of results of Core i7/Lynnfield + ClarkDale ... but this time is NDA more deadly ... post something - We will kill you :)
NDA was signed not only for CPUs perf, but for mobos too ...

Hmm but the youtube video showed a 3dmark vantage score?
ninja edit: when are results from these boards/processors no longer under NDA?

I was being serious....so suggesting more than asking.
No respect for NDA in my books means no respect for the people breaking it.

There seems to be no problem with NDA regarding Asus P55 boards as long there's only pictures...
ASUS P7P55D EVO - Picture Preview
«..ASUS has delivered one of the first P55 boards to our labs and granted us permission to provide an early look at it as long as performance numbers were not generated and we kept the BIOS options private. We know, this will be about as fun as playing with a stack of wet blankets on a cold day, but at least we can start the process of providing first looks at products that will be on sale shortly..»

«..Update - This is a picture from ASUS tonight of the final production board design and color scheme. The revised heatsink designs certainly have an artistic flair about them. Otherwise the new color scheme is not bad at all, although the light blue tends to make us think of Gigabyte's recent boards, especially with the 2oz Copper PCB silkscreen plastered below the second x16 PCIe slot..»

Is the date for NDA expiring date also under NDA?:D
-
-
Really happy for that...seems not so different in performance from i7 :)
-
There is an NDA for results. Even pics of the boards were under the codge until yesterday, someone shot early..
-
pictures of mobo are not under NDA, in document is : if you want to publish some photos, tell they are from Computex! :)
NDA will end in few weeks ... i dont know exact date (+/- day)

So I was right, im under personal NDA with MSI and under Intel's with OCZ and everything i have read says post no results.
I am amazed XS allowed this to be posted
-
If I remember correctly, ASUS doesn't mind their P55 boards being shown off, it's just that Intel is a tad more restrictive with the new CPU's.
-
My impression was Intel cared and ASUS didn't care that Intel cared. We've had pics of various P55 boards for a while now.
-
I'm not bothered about board pics, I have written instruction I can show the board...it was just results..the 3Dmark run that had me curious.
I have to sign many NDA's, never broke one of them, I know tier 1 review sites that don't break them either, but I see them broken often on forums and no one seems to care...this is most unfair in my eyes.
-
Since when people started to complain about broken NDAs here on XS

Oh c'mon, loosen up ;)
This is what this section is about: tech news and gossip.
If it was after NDA, it wouldn't be news.
Also, I don't see any results posted here, in the forum ;)

i dont get it... whats the big deal here?
anybody could emulate an 1156 cpu since last year when 1366 came out... theres no magic to it... nothing new at all except for robson and a tweaked doubled up G45 igp under the ihs, whooooooo!!! *waves arms*
:yawn2:
and those revised heatsinks on the board... come on... still looks like a really cheap aluminum heatspreader and somebody stepped on the center and the fins bent left and right
come on asus... seriously, you can do better than that! :stick:

IGP? I thought 1156 boards had no IGP, as the whatever-it's-been-renamed-to
2c/4t 32nm 1156 CPU will have IGP on-die.
-
Am I seeing this correct: cpu's running 234x22?
-
Gary Key let it slip that it will do 230MHz easily :)

ASUS is utilizing a 12-phase power system that has allowed easy 230+ Bclk rates in early testing.

looks like 224 x 22 (or 23)?!
