Nice wiring job!
Thanks for the pics. :toast:
I like those blue fans, Xigmatek I assume. Nice clean job.
I have the Haf 932 and love it. 922 looks very nice.
Andrea what are those Enermax fans like? Performance? Noise? Quality?
My build was interupted by a motherboard RMA, but here's the case after disassembly, painting and reassembly:

Andrea,
I wonder if you might post a picture of those fans running. I'm building a HAF 932 with a Gigabyte board. So far I have all red LED fans and I'm worried that I'll have too much red light. I saw those fans on an e-tailer's site and think they might be a good alternative to LEDs. Plus I painted my drive cages yellow and like the blue mb. I don't want to wash those out with too much red light.
I hope it comes soon. What are you going to use for a CPU cooler? Is that a sideways Pci slot there
in a week...:yepp:
and this is the cooler:
http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/2442/img1209v.jpg
yes, is a pci slot for usb-firewire-esata bracket.
great
Oops
this is the 922 thread, not the 932 - that already has a large thread
This case looks great, my next purchase.
This is better looking than the bigger brother.
Better looking, 922 paint has good interior paint quality compared to 932. Also dimension wise, its only .5" shorter, but more wider. Great case at great price
where can I get one? Newegg doesnt have any.
I THINK they're Cooler Master fans. They look like either these or these, but probably the first.
Edit: Actually no, I'm not sure what they are :p: I've seen them before, but can't for the life of me remember where...
Anybody with pics of these with a rad installed in the top? I'm thinking of possibly modifying one to fit a triple in the roof, cutting into the plastic do-hickie on the top for air vents
Eller
It's Xigmatek XLF-F1254, the fan that comes with the Dark Knight heatsink.
thanks!
Yes...It's xigmatek xlf-f1254 with white led fans..
A few online shops have them, but SidewinderComputers is by far my favorite site to shop at.
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/prmeforinso7.html
haf 922 a really good looking case, I just glanced over at newegg and not a bad price at all
Though I think Amazon would be the wiser choice since CA residents don't have to pay tax. ;)
i want to buy HAF 922. What owners can say about this case? It's noisy?
This case is Awesome. I'd recommend it to anybody. The CM fans are not noisy by any means. I added a couple extra 120mm CM red fans and changed out the top 200mm with the CM 200 red fan.

nice thread.......
Love the CM cases :D
Just did a review of the cm 922, only one issue, where are the dust filters?
The case does have a dust filter for the Front 200mm fan. I purchased 2 DEMCiflex 140mm Magnetic Fan Dust Filters, one for the bottom fan I added and one for the side fan I added and they waork great.
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/5...rsqbk01.th.jpg
I am actually having them custom make me a side and top filter for my case. It should be here some time this week actually. Here is the measurements and a rough pic of what they will look like.

IMO the 922 looks better than its bigger brother.
Just got the 922 and finished installing everything.
Just 2 things to watch out for:
1. Some of the edges are quite sharp, I cut my fingers working with it.
2. The soft rubber part of case feet are damaged. So far, I used super glue to keep them in place. Will be talking to CM hoping to get replacement feet.
this seems to be the perfect mid tower case. I want to see someone run a LC loop in this puppy.
If i had seen this case before my most recent build, I probably would have just gotten it and never gone the liquid cooling route because it's smaller and easier to take to college, but I love liquid cooling lol so oh well. How's air flow in that thing?
Hello triggs75 or other, using your images (sorry:yawn:), you could tell the distance in space travel by the red line?
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/4018/dsc01363w.jpg
tnks!!:)
Nice...i am using the same type of filter from DCM for my cm590 and it does a much better job than the foam filters. Can u link us to them??
EDIT: got their home page, but what was the size u ordered, and do u have the file they require??
That is my plan. Just need a couple of months to get the parts. I am looking at placing the Rad out the back liquid cooling the CPU and the VREG. The way I was thinking of the loop going ---- res -> pump -> cpu -> vreg -> rad. Or res -> pump -> rad -> cpu -> vreg
Here is what I am looking at putting in my system;

They custom made them for me off the measurements I gave them.
If you just email them off of their website. Let Vincent know you want the same size filters as he did for me, Chad with the HAF 922 case, I would assume he would know who you were talking about. I am sure he still has all the measurements and set up for it as it was just a couple of weeks ago and he was interested in the fit and pictures of it to possibly produce more of them.
They are in South Africa. It took him about a week to custom make them, but know they have the dimmensions and they fit perfect, and it took 6 days to be delivered from South Africa.
It might be a little pricey for some, but for custom made pieces and the quality, to me it was worth it.
1x custom Side Filter with HAF motif @ $24.00
1x custom Top Filter with HAF motif @ $22.50
Postage $11.00
TOTAL $56.50
from your line to line it's 13 inches or 33.02 cm. Hope that helps
Yes thanks a lot!!!
I planed put there my radiator, but its to big :(...
http://www.hwlabs.com/images/stories/alpha/bix3h.jpg
Width 397 mm (39,7cm)
Height 133 mm
Thickness 40 mm
thanks again...& sorry for my bad....bad english..
After a big favour! ;)
Please can one of you guys with a HAF922 check out the dimensions of that 200mm MegaFlow case fan. Desperately need to know the mounting hole positions. There are two sets of fixings. I would be very grateful if someone could post the measurements between hole centres top to bottom and side to side of both sets (A,B,C,D). Thanks in advance!
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...Dimensions.jpg
if anyone knows, tell where to buy 200mm LED fans :D
Nomadsoul - You can purchase the 230mm genuine CoolerMaster LED fan in either blue or red lighting from FrozenCPU.com.
I have also seen links posted in the HAF932 thread here at Xtreme Systems to the large LED fans which are also available directly from the CoolerMaster website.
Personally, I used FrozenCPU for a swap to the blue LED for the case front with no issues.
I purchased mine from the CM store here.
It is from the CM storm section on their site. The only difference is it runs 1000rpms instead of 720rpms.
Hope that helps.
Chad
Thanks, Ordered :D
seriously considering ordering one of these cases for a LC build... I have a swifty 2-120 rad which should fit no problem up top right?
It's rather tight, the space betweeen the motherboard and top. Depends on where your motherboard got it's mosfet sinks and how high up the ram dimms are placed. I have about 6cm~ from top to when the sinks on my ram is in the way.
So 25mm fans, 34mm rad, is just about that.
This is with an Asus Rampage II Extreme though.
You should actually have more clearing in the door, about 8cm. (Depends on where the PCI-E power connections are located on your gfx).
My plan is to fit a 360 in the top, gonna be some cutting to do that though. I was first hoping to fit a PA120.3 by moding my mosfet sinks, and ram sinks. But 8.5cm was just too much. So I'm going with a swifty in the door, and a swifty 360 on the top, or a GT stealth, not sure yet. (Cause it gets really tight).
Hi Zoqiet,
may i confirm the distance between the top of motherboard to the top of casing to be around 50mm and more?
I have a GA EX58 UD5, which i think Andrea deluxe(TS) has the same mobo in his HAF 922.
I am going to watercool the rig. my radiator is a thermaltake measuring 25mm height, going to mount it with 25mm height fan as well, resulting in about 50mm. so i need to know if i could fit it into the top of the casing
That will be very close. I am planning on putting in a XSPC RS360 @ 35mm in height and I am not able to fit 25mm fans on it as it will hit my RAM. I am planning on placing the RAD inside with two of the fans on the outside and the third fan inside in the bay drive area.
Chad
It's 50mm +/- 1 mm.
Remember though, this might slighty differ from motherboard to motherboard. The UD5 seems to have the dimm slots even higher than the ASUS as well.
But a 25 rad with 25mm fans should be no problem. And even if it don't you can use Slim Yate Loon's (20mm).
Here are a couple of shots of mine. It's at 99% completion; I found red LED 200mm fans for $9 so I'll be installing those when they show up this week. I need to zip-tie the bottom fan cables in place and then I'll be set. It's an i920 on an EVGA x58 SLI board, 6GB RAM, EVGA 275GTX in SLI and the Megahalems for cooling.

Very nice and clean setup Rucker. Like the paint job. Doing that to mine shortly as well, looks much cleaner.
Just finished installing my loop today (testing for leaks atm ^_^).
It was really really tight to fit a MCR320 + Standard 25mm fans. Here's a few pictures and you'll see what I mean :p
http://bildr.no/thumb/475890.jpeg
http://bildr.no/thumb/475891.jpeg
http://bildr.no/thumb/475892.jpeg
Had to chop off one of the mosfetsink fins. Also did some mods to the top for better airflow, just need some repaint and I'll upload more pictures with a better camera :>
Rucker - That's an awesome HAF922 build you have done there!!
Very well done on the black paint for the interior case - this is a role model for how I want my 932 to look after the paint mod. The cable management is also done to perfection. :toast:
Question: how has the Prolimatech Megahelems air cooler worked out for you?? I will be using the soon to be released Megashadow in my 932 and it would be great to benefit from your experience with this highly regarded heatsink.
R2E is a little bit wider than most, but it's still the same height. It really all depends on where your mosfet sink, 8pin and ram are put.
Haf922 is a fantastic medium size tower, just wish it were full alu! ;)
Next up is adding a 120.2 rad in the side for my gfx ^_^
nice cases.
Thanks. The cable management in this case is so easy with all the room. For painting, I drilled the rivets out to paint it and riveted it back together afterwards. It would have been too difficult for me to paint it otherwise, unlike the Antec 300 I painted previously.
The MGH has worked out great. See http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=232483
For my EVGA x58 SLI boardk, adding two 60mm fans to the VREG heatsink has made world of difference. I haven't see temps over 67C since I've added the fans, and I shut down Prime95 previously when the VREG temp hit 97C.
Stupid question, but do they give you wheels for the case, like for the 932? And if they don't will CM wheels fit?
IMHO some of the CM casters suck... My brother bought a HAF 932 a month ago and when he first got the case he swapped the feet for the casters. Keep in mind this is an empty case they are installed on. He wheeled the case from one side of the kitchen to the other and one of the wheels snapped clean off, with an EMPTY CASE.
OK got some update on my build.
This case I thought would fit the slim 360 on top with the fans inside it as well for my build. I have the XSPC RS360 Rad with 25mm fans and it hits my RAM clips along with my Alpha Cool CPU Block.
Thats ok going with plan two. XSPC RS360 still inside with 1 fan inside and the other two on the top. I will get a cover to cover the top two fans. The 360 fits fine, just had to drill holes under the top part of the case, but easy to drill. I am adding a 120 RAD as well on the back fan. My system will be set up kind've like this;
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/370/dsc01395m.jpg
So far have these parts;
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/727/dsc01380f.jpg
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/3726/dsc01392y.jpg
Waiting on the parts still to purchase;
- EK-FB KIT EVGA X58 Full Board Northbridge/Southbridge Water Block
- EK-Multioption RES 100
- Swiftech MCP655™ Series 12 VDC Water Pump
- EK-D5 X-TOP Version 2
- BITSPOWER Fittings
- (UN)Designs Pump Z2-Bracket
- PrimoFlex Pro LRT Tubing
- Distilled Water with Silver KillCoils
Until then, back to Air
http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/6527/dsc01400ajz.jpg
That's gonna be one damn nice looking case triggs75 when you are done
Just sucks that you weren't able to fit the rad+fans on the inside due to mobo. But, have you considered Yate Loon Slim Fans though? Saves you another 5mm, and they still push a lot of air. (And are really cheap! :))
For anyone else wanting to fit a 360 or 240 rad in the top, slim loons and black ice stealth is 50mm combined and should fit in any 922 regardless of motherboard.
Smoking...................
Thanks for the heads up. I will get some. That should clear the RAM clips as that area was barely touching.
I am getting the Alphacool CoolCover Universal CPU Mounting Kit that will replace those flat disc's on it so hopefully I will be clear the CPU block as well.
Chad
could i get a measurement between the top of the motherboard and the top of the case? there seem to be a few different answers here...
here is mine, with brand new cm megaflow on side panel:)

Most ppl usually cut out only the mesh area for a window. But I thought that was a little small. So I cut mine a little wider and just bent the acrylic window a little to match the panel.
Nice set up. Great job on the window as well.
Lol, 10$??
Here in europe it's 30 euro,thats about 45$...
I believe this is a Europe site here.
that side panel fit ok no problems?
they sell it on the coolermaster website for i think $10
Very nice build Aviduser!
just bought mine today along with the 200x200x30mm megaflow fan for the side panel...
so the sniper clear side panel will fit the 922 with no problems? any mods needing made for it?
Hi Andrea deluxe, tell me, this vented pci slot are Nexus pci-300? Thanks a lot.
