TYR PC-X500B - Quick build

Hey guys, My dad's studio capture PC crapped out the other day so I took the chance to build something futureproof for him to shoot with in a form factor that is protable yet capable :)

the goal is for this system to be finished by tonight or tomorrow :)

All black and it has some really great features :up: This thing is gonna be REALLY quiet I can tell you already. These scythe gentle typhoon fans I got for it are amazingly silent and still push a lot of air.

Ive got 1850 rpm ones for the cpu air tunnel and 800rpm ones for the other slots. I turned on the 1850rpm fans and I had to check the box to make sure that I hadn't grabbed an 800rpm one....

thanks :) I dont have any sleeving here at school, but I've got some zipties and heatshrink to work with.... I will be bringing it home next weekend so it will get finishing touches when I have my full arsenal of tools :D

Star of the build is, definitely, Lian-Li X500. Big, black and elegant. Tough case. SSD is also cute and those Scythe Gentle Typhoons are looking hardcore. (:

Sniipe Dogg, why are you selling the Permafrost?!! It's the next best thing other than sliced bread :D

I have a bunch of pics for you guys but they wont be up till later :) the computer is finished right now, I need to buy a copy of windows for it but other than that it is ready to rock. it is SO quiet, its ridiculous!

@Ikiller - I need money for hardware in my next build that will be over the top amazing! :D

Also I forgot to mention, I went over to the campus computer store and I found out that I can get copies of vista ultimate 32-bit for only $20 :rofl: :up::up::up:

Great cable management and a nice system. Fantastic choice in case too, It's hard not to love a blacked out interior.

That's a pretty nice build. Although why did you go for an mATX board in an ATX case?

With 6 Gb of RAM, a 64-bit OS is a must. Although if it's not an OEM disk, the license will cover a 64-bit install too, you just need a 64-bit disk.

watercooling later on ;) probably summer sometime.....

and yeah for now I will be putting in the 32-bit and later on I will probably just buy an upgrade license and use my 64-bit disk I have at home.

and NVIDIA or ATI...

All that nice stuff and you put in a HD4650:/. Should have put a 4850, or even a 4870 or their Nvidia equivalent.

did you even read what the system is for?

Dont worry, I have received word from lian-li today that I am due to get a v2110 in the mail someday soon :wasntme: sponsorship from other companies TBD and (hopefully) a new MDPC in the making :up: keep an eye out

you dont know the half of the no sleeving look :p:, wait till you see what I do with project flow as far as "sleeving" goes :D you'll be happy :up:

here's a thought on a new "sleeving" idea. Clear sleeve with clear heatshrink, anyone? I think i'm going to look into it.

these were taken with a 5D mkII and a 35mm cannon af lens. I used one elinchrom bank, some foam core and a reflector and did time exposures @ f11-14 with available light. Some areas come in really hot because of this method but I got some effectively dramatic shots so I was pleased.

This case, with Enermax Magma fans, Bloodrage, and a 4890, oh, and a True Black with a Magma on it as well.

Any overclock on the i920? If so, how do u like the bios? I've never used a DFI, but I'd like to hear some feedback on this mATX board.

I'll be doing some OCing in the first week of may when I get back from college, I'll post results and thoughts on the board up here :)

yeah it is, but I tend to buy 750w - 850w PSU's for all the computers in my house because If one fails and needs to be revived quickly or a board needs a test on another PSU I have the ability to do some transplants :D

also I plan to put watercooling in this summer and do some overclocking on the system :up:

OMG I love this case. I thought I seen every Lian Li case but some how I missed this one. Your hardware is killer in the case too. What a nice job.
