Fits Acrylic Dtek Tops work log
-
Nice!! Any pics of them on the desired product? ^^
-
-
-
Loving the look of the black ones....so straightforward and nondescript.
Any performance enhancement/change?
-
more pics added of finished look installed on a board.
has better flow than both v1 and v2 while still cooling very well. tests comming soon.
-
Two hours!!
Dang...I'd still be milling on the same top after two days with my ole manual mill...lol!
Very nice work!
-
$54,000 machine works wonders man.
thanks everyone for the complements.

Yeah, I spent all of $500 at harbor freight on mine. Heck I might have as much in tooling as I do the mill itself.
That's awesome....puddle o CNC drool is forming over my keyboard about now...:D
-
the black looks a bit thicker than the plexi one ? am i right ? or is it different top for v1 or v2...
is it delrin, or is it plexi with black colour ?
looking really good, really want the black one :D...is the thread has the same distance like the original top Dtek v1/2..because i'm using koolance 3/8-1/2...
thx..
-
nice looking tops. one question on the 3 holed tops, is it 2 in or 2 out?
-
WOW Nice work, you make it look so simple, but I'm sure it took you quite a bit of work, at least the planning, design etc. Very nice
-
Those really do look great! Is there any notable difference in performance or flow?
-
Amazing top orgy. Too bad I don't have a Dteck block :( (GTZ here).
-
Wow, nice looking!! How much will they cost? ^^

ports are same distance apart as the stock dtek top. they are delrin.

price discussed here... LINK

$83 piece of acrylic = $2500 in parts, apparently
they do look nice though.
-
machining them is expensive. You must compensate for 45000 dollar machine.
-
im interested! but i would like to see some comparisons between the stock vs yours performances. kgo
-
Great stuff fit, loving the DIY mass production stuff :p:
-
I'll have one on the way soon. Shame I don't have 2, or I'd pester skinnee to test one :p:
Can't wait!
-
i will possibly allow someone to test one of these if they contact me.
-
-
Cool to see the delrin and double outlet versions produced
-

I found this picture of Fits top, looks very polished
Makes mes wish I had of kept my D-Tek :yepp:
-
I'd be interested to know if anyone wants to test one of these, who might have a few other blocks or have tested other blocks on the same system, to give a comparison.
-
i ordered one....wooot i hope my brackets arrive this week..this is gonna be testing week again..yepp:
-
Nice Product!
Nice Advertising!
Nice Finish!
Nice Price!
Now all this needs is Nice Performance! anxiously waiting for some Nice #s...
-
it is less restrictive just by looking at it.
-
from my perspective it looks like this top turn the V1 fuzion into somewhat of a ghetto V2 (since the tops look very similar to the V2 stock top)

There is absolutely nothing ghetto about this top :)

ok i rephrase : into a V2 wanna be, to me look like a V2(inside not the outside look) ,"blingier" but also $XX more expensive.
We jus need some test results to see if the performance is better than stock that way the price tag can be justified.

You do know this is also for v2, right? ;)
To me, the price is justified by the part's obvious quality and exclusivity. Added performance is just icing on the cake.
To be frank, I bought one because it looks cool and has a potential performance benefit (higher with my v1 than the v2, I suspect). Priorities in that order.
If you really think about it from a performance perspective, a 1-3c improvement alone is hardly worth $xx, is it?
-
yeah it also works on the V2 and adds bling bling to it, but is it any better than a stock V2? that was my point ,since personally i WC for performance not aesthetics i run a completely sealed case with no windows...but that is beyond the point and to each their own.
Oh and on the if 1-3 c is worth the $XX, lets say you add 2c with a WB top, 2c with a Pump top..3c with a Better Rad....etc if you look at the end game it could add up to a substancial gain, that ""hypothetical"" 7c could be the difference between 4GHZ and a 3.6GHZ but again what do i know, i am somewhat new to all this.

The rule of thumb that Swiftech and others use is 2% clocks for every 10C IIRC :)
This of course varies....i7s don't really care much about temps, while Ph2 scales with temps. Core 2s are somewhere in the middle, closer to the 2%/10C :)
-
hey now... this isnt the forsale thread. i dont want to get this closed because you guys are talking prices.
the problem is... they cost alot to make. i cant go too low or i'll be loosing money.
money aside...
im sending a top off for testing this week then we will have some numbers. i guaranty you that its better than both v1 and v2. its a lot less restrictive and provides lower temperatures.
i didnt spend all this time on doing 5 different versions of these and testing them on different setups to make 60 POS tops that only look cool. i guess you need numbers to see that im not making this up.
did i mention these work on AMD too?
-
Yes let's keep this thread open shall we :)
I can attest that the top I got from Fits was very nicely made and fit fine...no leaks. It looked awesome with black coolant and a 4" CCL tube.
I can't attest to what benefit it gave in cooling because there was no before and after testing.
-
So on stock cooler my C2D 6600(2.4) runs at 61c IDLE 70 Load. as you might guess that chip did not want to overclock at all, so i water cooled it i dropped it to 40c IDLE and managed to OC it to 3.2GHZ and get a 55c load.(34% OC)(first OC value current is way higher)
Now if i were to go by the rule of thump i would gain 2% overclock for every 10c i drop in temperature ? so my OC according to the RT would be 2.5ghz*(4% increase).
Now please don't laugh if i bastardized the rule of thump or misinterpreted how it works, just trying to make some sense out of all mar"tian" hieroglyphs sometimes used here.
Edit. err my apologies i guess i went a little off topic.
-
look at the picture I found, this thing screams quality and we should give Fit the credit for making this lovely product for the beloved D-Tek, I mean BLING and function....
-
2 Attachment(s)
here is something to stir up some more chatter....
on the left is the older version from my last batch that CD spoke of...
notice how its nice but a tad cloudy without any water in it.
the one on the right is the new version made with a higher grade of acrylic.
also... the new version is shorter to eliminate the air pocket that some people reported in the first batch.(was difficult to bleed all the air out at first, new version is fixed)
-
1 Attachment(s)
here is the new version next to the first version i made. the first one was good only for dual core or single core chips.

Sorry. Price removed.
My point is that it's a high quality piece of kit. I like things like this even if they don't increase performance. It's not about the bling to me (my H2o PC is in p180), but knowing what I have is quality. I enjoy working with quality parts.
I'm certain this will improve temps on my v1, and also fairly sure it will better the v2, but that's just not why I bought mine :)
-
what do you guys think about a version of these made for the dtek gfx block or possibly the mcw-60?
-
Any way to make the inlet and outlet farther apart to accommodate larger compression fittings?
-
Whew! The new version looks fantastic, almost glass-like in comparison.
@situman
You're going to have to get those BP 45 degree adapters. Not to worry, they look awesome.

Why spend the extra money when a little extra planning on the manufacturer's part can solve the issue rather easily? I'm not sure if anyone will be able to fit 1/2" x 3/4" without a little serious effort but 3/8" x 5/8" shouldn't be to much of a problem.
-
Just got my delrin. Very nice work indeed. Great work, Fits. Mebe I'll post piccies later if there's demand enough :)
-
dude fits tops are nice.
And they look very simple and efficient.
the only quams i have is it costs as much as the block itself.
but besides that price point, there very excellent tops, and very well designed.
-
only way to get the price down is to make more....
i cant even sell the ones i have so why would i make more?
-
Been there. Done that. :o
I like the chunky Ice Cube look it has regardless of what it does. It's a cool mod to an already solid performing WB. And to answer a question about compression fittings I found that I could not fit two 3/8 Koolance fittings side by side. Someone would have to make a facetted top and port it at angles to get fittings on there. So 45 degree swivels are indeed the only work around other than a combobulation of M-M/F-F to extend the 2nd fitting.

I wish I had another FuZion after seeing this top. It's really first rate. I'm diggin' the gold "bling" screws, too :D
-
Too bad no one in the U.S. makes a I7 hold down bracket for it. I know Duniek makes some, but I don't want to wait weeks to get them. Anyway, very, very, very nice work Fitseries, you have some mad skills. I am assuming it uses the rubber 0-ring from the original block? Also, what are the lowest temps that the acrylic will take? I.E. -20c? Thanks, makes me want to get another D-Tek block. Maybe I will. :D
-
idk that acrylic has a problem going with low water temps. i would think it would get brittle at some point but maybe not.
they use the stock oring from the dtek top yes.

dude you live within driving distance of one of the best custom builders on this forum, and your complaining about a bracket?
-
No doubt, but dude, he is busy and I hate to ask for more since he is already hooking me up.
-
i need some ppl to take some of these off my hands. my FS thread keeps getting deleted though. hmmm....
-
These been tested yet with some data to compare to the stock tops? Interested if it does improve but not interested if it does not help and especially if it's worse.
-

looks sweet! thats the first delrin i've seen pics of. havent tried one myself. i DO have a few left as well as a few dual port AC's. no regulars though. they are all gone.

keep in mind this is a prototype. hand made to work.. not to look pretty. i'll get the CAM model going soon and machine a few up.
-
Hmm looks nice. Have any of u noticed any reduction in noice with theese tops vs the standard one? well... maybe i have to ask if u noticed the noice in the first place... Well, anyone?
Also, there would be no bow with this top right?

once the air is out(matter of a second or 2 on the first run of the loop) its near silent. i know the stock dtek v1 top sometimes gets noisy when air gets trapped inside. i've run the red nozzle's in my tops and its still silent.
my base is pre bowed and so far has retained its shape.
-
susbscribed! makes me want to buy one of these blocks, purchase your top if you have any left and then get one of your mounts :D
-
-
-
did use a buffing wheel or cotton wheel to polish?

Nah im not talking about trapped air. its not silent, i understand most people wont notice it since its not loud.... but its not silent. Thanks for playing tho :p:
-
so what versions of the tops are left?
-
a few delrins left as well as some dual outlet acrylics
