Project: Bruiser TJ07

:welcome:
hi there,
had this build going on in another forum so i thought i'd post here to get more opinions. Its a Silverstone TJ07 Black. It has CPU and GPU watercooling with a triple PA.
Hardware-wise its an E8400 (@ 4.07Ghz 24/7, Hopefully upgrading to Q9550 very soon) Asus P5Q-E, 4870x2 (flashed BIOS to top) 4gb RAM, Spinpoint F1 1TB, Blu Ray, X-Fi.

The Mods I have done so far are

• New Custom window with smoked acrylic
• Lian-Li Bezel Mod
• Replaced all stock fans
• Custom Hard Drive caddy
• Watercooling (DUH :D)

Still to come are hopefully:

• Powdercoated internals (should have done it first really...but oh well)
• triple rad roof mod
• custom TJ07 'Floor' (i.e cut holes in it)
• Custom Faceplate.

Im guessing ur using some kind of coolant or dye... what you using cuz i like that color.

just one question, you have an X-fi fatal1ty, so do I, does it fit in the pci-slot above your graphics without touching the ram? need to know that because I want to order a p5q deluxe/of -e and want to place my x-fi there because otherwise I wouldn't be the effort worth to make a mirror on the bottom of my case to see my HD4870 waterblock, thank's ;)

Edit: Yeah it fits nicely! there is even room for the dominator cooler. go for the p5Q-e....its exactly the same as the pro, but cheaper :)

Thx for checking, You mee the P5Q-e in case of the deluxe, well I'm still a bit doubting, but yeah, last year I got a P5K Deluxe in case of an -E, I like deluxe versions ^^, and the box of it will sit nice in my cupboard of the box of my p5k deluxe, wich will go to my second pc again :p

by the way, if you think of Ideas to improve my current progress, or if you have any ideas of mods you have, fire away!:shoot:
Im trying to make this as good as possible so please tell me!

sleeve the CCFL cables ? :), and the right tubing on the X2, maybe on the underside, would also improve the flow I gues ?

You also we're planning to WC your mb I've read, I would do an appart loop for that ;) and maybe WC your RAM (with a mips ram block ? ;))

btw for your GFX like I did on my HD4870, ow, don't look to much @ the soundcard, because I moved it today and P5Q Deluxe is coming so the good looking block of my HD4870 will be viewable soon :)

okay I wont be doing much for a while becuase of a few things, but i will still answer any questions or comments made :) this is becuase

a) Still waiting on a few bits (WTF is that dremel?!!)
b)Replacing the fans (seemingly an easy task, but no...) which i would have done already to stop my ears bleeding becuase of the thermaltake crap i put in, requires i drain the whole system...
c)...and there is no point in that to have to put it back together, to then take it apart AGAIN to send it to the powdercoaters, and add the new loop (yay)

I would in case of putting passive things on your ram watercool it with a MIPS ramfreezer, these are so shiny ^^ :D

yeah they are easy to fit, and they feel well made, they come with pre-installed thermal pads to :)

but I don't like route of the tubing very much, for the GPU I would put the barbs at the down side, will look much more cleaner ;) :up: and the cpuloop, erm, I've got to think about that

slight lighting adjustments, no cosmetic changes except for removing sensor dust spots on the background of the external pics. All internal pics are as shot with color balancing only.

nicely done, looks to be pretty tight with the main loop :up:

where did I get it, or what kind is it?
its XPSC blue 7/16" tubing, and you can get it at chilledpc, specialtech, WCUK, loads of places :) if you are in the US I have no idea though, sorry.

Do you think any type of sealer is needed?

oh, we have similar reservoirs placement :)
i have windows from both sides, so that one res could be seen through the one and second through another.
don't u want to cut more from mobo tray? it seems u have several cm of unused space.

those acrylic res holders, my was broken very fast so my advice is to get reliable from black plastic.

where are temp sensors will be?

just interesting how do u plan to mount your pumps, it was a bit difficult for me to decide, but at the end i managed to place them so that just 2 bays were ocupied.

great setup in overall, and good pics quality :up:

dont think so, as if you use newly cut tubing (i.e it hasnt been on another barb) its a very tight seal.

we cant buy the black res holders any more, just the clear :(
temp sensor will be in unused 3.5"bay slot...i'll post pics of how pumps are mounted for you :)

btw first time i turned pump on i was in a little shock, how incredible loud it was
so after all was assembled and filled with water i had to drill my case more, so pay attention to insulation of it

okay, here are how the pumps are mounted.
First, I got two XSPC DDC stands and put the pumps on them.

Then, I discovered that they needed modding to mount them vertically (look at the bases) dremel to the rescue!

then, I had a bright Idea. I used the USB/Firewire/Headphone bay device as a flat base. Then I drilled a few holes to secure the stands & pumps in place.

I think that way of mounting is only a problem when the inlet of the pump is facing down. So his pump is more orientated like the 2nd and 4th picture.

should I get my waterblocks nickel plated? (i.e silver instead of copper)

good then... i've always been cautious in having it pumping downwards... i guess if the experts here vouch that it's ok, i can also consider this in my next build. thankssssshhhh! :ROTF:

it's interesting idea about pumps, great. ur zalman controller does not need whole bay and may share it with pumps.
couple moments i'd like to highlght though.
if u will not use any gromets or insulation pumps may be very loud. also it is good idea to rise pump or make a hole, to get their basement access to fresh air.
should res be a little higher than the pump inlet?
and u driiled a basement for the outlet. is there any space for clamps?

as for thermo sensor - u gonna use only ambient? i use scythe kaze with 4 temps, and found pretty useful it. now i have temp measurement for loop1. loop 2 (sensor in the res unused plug), inside case, outside case. most difficult thing for me now is where to plase sensor for ambient temp :)

should res be a little higher than the pump inlet?
and u driiled a basement for the outlet. is there any space for clamps?

as for thermo sensor - u gonna use only ambient? i use scythe kaze with 4 temps, and found pretty useful it. now i have temp measurement for loop1. loop 2 (sensor in the res unused plug), inside case, outside case. most difficult thing for me now is where to plase sensor for ambient temp :)

and its a good one, I promise ;)
I FINALLY have my PC back! I filled her up this weekend. still not finished though - its a little rushed becuase its half term (i.e a week off school) and I just had to have my pc for a week with no school or I would go INSANE.
so here is why it is a litle rushed in more detail:

After a long time figuring out where everything goes & connecting it up, I filled one loop. for 30 seconds. drip, drip drip. :(
turns out I forgot to put the O-ring back when I replaced the pump top (yes, I am an idiot). Anyway, sorted that after 2 hours cleaning and starting again. filled loop 1! (the GPU loop) yay!
started filling the second loop with deep purple...ahem...BLACK feser one.
filled it full, bled it, thought I'd leak test it for a while, and bam! 3 leaks. :(

all to do with F***ing O-rings. turns out whoever sent me my G3/8" to G1/4" reducers sent me the wrong size fupping o-rings. AND a barb on the res had a bust O-ring. FFS!
4 more hours later, much lost fluid, I finally have a working system with no leaks!

It looks very nice. it sucks that you had some leaks, but glad you got it fixed!

Looks great man but I have to encourage you to clean up that bottom section! you have done such a nice job on the top section but the bottom looks like a different computer.

Yeah, just noticed that. The top's so perfect, make the bottom the same way.
