Well seeing peeps are now getting their CPU's we need a thread for them to post their OC's, so come inside and show those overclocks!

OK well I'll post my latest..then tonight I am going for some mid 4's...stay tuned.

mmmm, me likes! I should see similar results with the Ultra Chiltech I am using ( I Hope)!
Whats with the blanked SPi loops charged? Afraid amd ninjas might come take it away? Nice clocks anyway.
Yesh, I am very afraid LOL..the president of my company is being a bit persitant that I wait. I think he is under NDA, and he gave it to me with the condition I not post numbers..He wasn't going to let me post any screen shots. Besides, AMD's ninja's I hear are Bad A$$ :p:
We should collect the seppings/batches in the #1 post like this.
need wikipost
I have one DICE Prime :D Happens to me sometimes that I have the 2nd CPUz tab on CPU also instead of mem :wall:

Nice...but who ever your hosting with SoF is terrible...what an annoying banner ad. Did you run any benches at 4.4ghz or just prime it?
I can be the updater. It'll give me something to do with all my free time at college. Empty Tuesdays and Thursdays are pretty sweet.
So some stuff to put in it would be...
CPU Used
CPU Clock
HTT Clock
HT Link Multi
NB Multi
Ram Speed
Ganged/Unganged/Single Channel
Vcore
VNB
Full Stepping
Windows Version
Cooling
(I like my data detailed.:yepp:)
Something new from the last list could be linking to the actual post of everyone's clocks so that people don't have to go searching through a massively long thread. Not sure what people would want to do for actual stability testing, I would prefer to have a set time for a specific stress test or have equivalent times for multiple stress tests because the last list had a few entries that were only an hour of prime. Beyond that I wouldn't know what else to include or require.
...Still need newegg to get the 940's in stock so I can buy that new system:D.
What do you think about this kind of form?
Anyone have any prime95 or F@H shots?
Do you mean just the grouping by stepping and then best overclock or do you mean completely like that? I would rather do an actual table to make its slightly easier on the eyes to read. I do like how its organized, but we didn't really have that many different "steppings" so to speak with the original phenoms. Most of the differences were in the week and the end of the stepping and not the beginning part of the stepping. For example people had the exact same stepping and week as my Phenom 9600 regular but couldn't clock nearly as high. The only higher clocking chips I've seen are all BE's and the occasional 9750.
And also after looking at that I forgot to add a validation link for it as well.
haha me too :) goes well until 500 - tomorrow gonna try some other 1x1gb sixx ;)
http://s11.directupload.net/images/081221/zofqqjek.png
It will be your task. I only try to give you some ideas for it. ;)
I think these data would be enough:
CPU Used (X4 920, X4 940, etc)
CPU Clock (3800MHz)
Vcore (1,375)
Full Stepping (AAAFB AA 0840BPMW)
Cooling (Air, H2O, DICE, etc.)
Windows Version (32bit/64bit)
Is it Prime stable? (Y/N)
...and a CPU-Z validation
It would be nice to have a thread on here, but I'm sure it would be a hassle for whoever had to keep up with it.
Personally I always liked this site for looking up OC'in info.
http://www.amdgeeks.net/
The admin is a pretty cool guy too.. :)
I would still add room for nb and ht link clocks since everything gets seperate clocks now. Maybe there could be a seperate list for highest average clock since we can clock each core seperately. I think too much...
I've posted some stuff up on amdgeeks, more than a few steppings, and I was the first person to tell them about the Barcelona AM2+ quads. Back when x2's were popular I feel it was a much better site, but with the advent of phenoms almost no information gets posted there. Its a shame though because the site has an amazing format for holding all the data.
I'll set up the thread tomorrow or monday.
I had the Phenom clock list last. It didn't get updated because people quit submitting scores. :) It's already dynamically generated.

thats a great cpu score Jon. Yea a better MB and GPU and you would be wailing on it. First pass at 3d06 for me...forgot to set it back to default.
3.22ghz stable at 230 HT multi at default vcore....im really liking this so far.
Can some one with phenom II 940/920 post a untweaked ( XP OS ) single 4870 512mb 815/925 or asus top bios with cpu @ 3.6g for me in 3d06. Would like to compare it to my intel results.
You forgot ram speed/timings.
bump, no one has a 4870 they can test with Phenom II 940.............?
Could UK peeps please post the stepping you are getting and the retailer. Chew, I keeps seeing you mention that the lower the batch number the better the chance for a good overclocker.
Back in the day, there was alot of discussion about this and the impression that I got was tht low batch number was NOT important. What was more important was the stepping.
Some steppings have historically shown to be good overclockers, the x-x-AW usually are good also x-x-MW showed good pedigree. If I remember correctly the third letter was to do with the marking of the wafer i.e. A is better than B. The reason M is good is that the marking does not go from A-Z, but something like A-B-C-M.
I may be completely off with this, but there is a thread here at XS which discusses this in depth, probably dated around 2005-2006
LMAO @ chew, heheheheheeee
I went in search for the thread here at XS and I came across this one, LOL
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...light=stepping
We had this same discussion THREE years ago
:rofl::ROTF:
I couldnt find the info I was looking for here at XS, it may be over at overclockers.com. Will try to find time later today to dig up the thread
:p:
-- EDIT --
Ok, I have found that tidbit of information that was bouncing around in my head, lol

Will try to find where ocdetective originally posted this, as if I remember correctly that is where most of the discussion regarding steppings took place.
Here's mine
all setting are set in bios
So 3.6GHz is the predominant OC for a PII 940? Not 4GHz? :(
depends on v's, people going up around 1.5v's are getting 3.9-4ghz it seems
Well i've been working all night long on this thing, It's hard adjusting to learn how to OC a Phenom. I've tried as hard as I can to hit 4ghz with it on my Lapped True Black 120 Dual S-flex setup. It's an incredibly fast system! I can get it in at 3.9 but 4.0 is simply a no go, i've even tried a run at 1.6v (was idling about 40c) I'm sure I can get better with it by learning how to mess with the north bridge and such.
THe one thing that's seriously bothering me is the fact that I can't run Dual Channel. The true sits too low and my Corsair Dominators are just too tall :( I'm going to shut it off for the night and let the poor thing rest. enjoy!

and with water cooling....1.45V for 3.9Ghz!!

http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/393...pg/1/w1001.png
For the above, my graphics cards are running at stock speeds. CF 2* 4870 1gig each.
Any clue why AOD reports 4.5GHz in windows when I set 3.7GHz in the BIOS?

3.01Ghz NB clock! :)
Water 2 20c idle..
Chilled slightly, buy trying to avoid concensation..
It's summer over here in AUS.. and in brisbane is frigging humid and hot!
http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/2750/39773gnbty9.jpg
4Ghz/3GHz NB is crazy mAJORD! Nicely done.
What's the temps under water with these clocks?
Mine 940BE is CACVC AC 0850BPEW
batch 80193
For now I'm doing comparison between 9950 an 940 at 3.0GHz. Clocking will start later today.
PS. this post was typed on a PH II 940BE running @1.2GHz/0.88Vcore under full load :)
Temps are in the jpg, informal :)
21c at idle, 35c 4 core load.
As mentioned, the water is chilled. I can't reach 4ghz on ambient water atm, it's just too hot over here, especially in my workshop so i set the chiller for about 15c to avoid too much condensation :)
wish i had a board i could insulate fully and go nuts on the chiller, but i really want to keep this board "unscathed" so to speak for my main system
Thanks mAJORD,i saw it too late :slapass:.
Anyhow,I'm jealous :D.Those are just sick clocks! Imagine someone told you 3 or 4 months ago you will run AMD 10h gen. QC at 4/3Ghz clocks, you would told him he was crazy :D
NB @ 2940 here,,, still pushing NB---- CPU score 3dmark06 5584
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/246...rk06378fb4.png
I've got 256x16 working at 1.575v, left the nb and ht down at the 8x multi though so I can find the max cpu speed first. It actually overvolts to 1.6v at load though, but it doesn't matter cause its cold.
