X2Beach Mountain Mods Pinnacle 24 Core I7

I just couldnt Live with the high Temps my Core I7 was giving me in my Coolermaster HAF 932 so I bough all new stuff and Will start this build tommorow When my MM pinnacle 24 arrives.

Here is what I got going in it


Rampage 2 Extreme
Core I7 920
Ati 4870X2
PCPC Turbo cool 860
Koolance CPU-350
xspx 4870x2 Block
MCP 355 Pump with XSPC Reservoir Top (1st Loop)
XSPS DUal Bay Reservoir With pump (for 2nd Loop)
TPC 360 Rad (top) For CPU
PA 120.2 Rad Front (GPU)
Kaze Slip Stream Fans 1600 rpm

be careful, you may or may not be able to mount that rad up top even with 4 fan spacings because of your rom, unless you flip the face which i even had to consider with the 18

look at the top mounted rad, the fan is pushing up against the DVD ROM

i dont know how much fatter a TFC 360 is but im sure there will be some conflict.

now if you flip the face plate so the ROM is on the bottom, problem solved, or even filp just the ROM cage and mount the rom at the lowest point you may be able to mount a 4x fan RAD

ps DON'T use the scythe slipstreams on your rads they are terrible rad fans
(because of the smaller motor space they have verry litle static pressure)
further this is gonna be a nice build good luck whit it :up:

ive used them on MCR320s, they only thing that i can see that makes a difference is how they sound aside from that, they are adequate fans for either operations (ie. as rad fan or just case fan)

there are obviously better fans, but if he already has them, id say use them

yeah treu they do work :)
i only recently replaced mine on my rad whit some ultra kaze and wow what a diference :)

your going to compare the slip streams to a ultra kaze... :rofl:

different class fans obviously, if you were to compare something within its class its not all that bad

evil.. Thanks for the tip. I will have my case in the morning.. I take a ton of pictures. My case is the same black wrinkle as yours...

can you post pictures? i am contemplating buying the Pinnacle 24. also looking to internally mount my 120.3 pa rad.

Haha, the most annoying thing is screws because you never buy enough. I went to a couple of stores and totally lost it when they didn't' have what I wanted, further delaying my build as I needed SCREWS lolololol.

Can't you fit a fan there by placing the fan between the front panel and radiator?

Something like this:

Radiator : Fan : Front Panel

Mountain Mods cases eat screws like crazy. I thought 2 boxes from McMaster Carr would have been enough, but I fell short. Now if only they offered some sort of screw package, or fan grill package.

hey, sorry i couldnt get to your PM, theres really nothing we can do, i just left it open

maybe MM could make a wrinkled finish 120mm fan cap so we could close up the holes.

also just noticed my freaken case didnt come with the HD mount... i got ripped

its all good evil, I am going to call MM and get him to make me a custom front with only 2 120MM fan holes.

This case was tough get the cables undercontrol


I really like the HD mount. simple and works well

I'll second the suggestion to mount the fans on the front radiator to the case and then to the radiator. That'll push the radiator far enough back that you should be able to fit a third fan in the top space.
Hopefully I'm on top of the screw situation for my upcoming MM build, I should have enough hardware to have everything replaced with black socket cap screws including motherboard/CD drives/RAID cage/PCI slots with enough left over for anything I forgot

IMO those cases are just too big for what they do. It looks an absolute nightmare to get tidy cabling and the tube runs need to be excessively long. :S

Hey X2beach, I just came across your thread.I'm thinking of getting the same case and mobo as you. I've read all the posts on your thread but I would appreciate any extra input and or suggestions you might have regarding this case. One of my concerns is cable management, do you have pics with the completed build?

The 99% picture is probably as close as one will get. There just isn't anywhere to tuck the cables in this case. It's more of a workhorse than a showcase.

I can't wait to see this finished product. I am going between this case and a U2-UFO CYO for my next case when I do a Core i7 build. I wanna see how wire management will be in this case compared to the UFO.

nice hardware & case... I'm not feeling the tubing runs though. Any particular reason for the long fittings on the GPU block? seems like its adds unnecessary distance to the loop between the GPU and the 5.25 bay.

Also, are the radiators not the same hole spacing? Because if they are, id defiantly run the 320 in the front, and 120 at the top.

Black SATA cables and somes wire sleeving will do wonders to the overall look of the PC (even w/ the window on).

I have completely redone the system. I am running 1 loop now.. and Quad on top, 360 in the front. Just cleaning it up I update with pics soon

Wow, I never realized how big those cases are. That is an awful lot of tubing :p:. Looking good so far and it seems that you have some really nice parts to enjoy.

Of course the gap is extremely handy, I just though it might be a problem when you have to start pulling cables straight accross the case. When you have a case this big, you're involuntarily going to either have really long cable/tubing runs along the edges of the case or straight but strange looking runs from one component to another. It's just a very open case, if you'd get cable extenders you could tuck it away for real. I find the case has a rather odd feel about it, like it has too much room around the motherboard tray.

That being said, you're the expert, I don't own this case. This was just the feeling that I've gotten through looking at various examples on the internet. :)

the front fans on the front 360 radiator are intake air inside the case or exhaust outside?
if exhaust outside of the case i think you should put some fans on the rear of the case.

it comes with the screws.. just I have kids who got into them before I finished had to order some more

i just got my Pinnacle in last week. I love the case. I see some people are having some concerns about wire management. I am not really having any issues with it. Having a Modular power supply definitely makes it easier. Currently waiting on some longer sata cables (in tomo) to finish off the cable management.

If anyone is interested I can post some pics or start a new thread. Let me know.

Looks good , finally finished. but now you need to start up the Quad Fire GPU's :D:D:D:D
and give us some benchmarks!:
