What X58 You Buying? I personally going to go for the Foxconn.
GIGA, its in the sig ;)
How bout the option - None :D probably upgrading next year for westmere
Asus P6T-Deluxe, MSI X58 Eclipse or Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
i wait for reviews and buy one of these boards.
And this is in the news section because...?
This isnt for the news section.....
entry for the news thread?????
a new entry for each x58 board that hits the net is already way over the edge let alone a pol.
I'm not sure if I'm going to make the transition for a while. If the Foxconn Blood Rage is as good as the Black Ops then I will make the plunge. I'm also interested in seeing if what EVGA come up with if anything.
I'll get the Bloodrage or if it should happen to be a disapointment I'd think about the eclipse, or a dfi one... anyway, what does this thread have to do with the news section?
Well assuming our dollar bounces back to at least 0.75USD, Foxconn for me. However it things remain the same, I'm going to sit tight.
im undecided, thought the gigabyte and the msi looks good (sata wise ;) )
I aint buying anything, atleast not within a year.
And i always prefer Asus, never had any bad experience with them so no reason for me to try out another brand.
I have 4 of them and best stable with great performance is Asus P6T Deluxe, but is not good for OCing QPI ... higher QPI then 140MHz = freez, best mobo for OCing QPI is Gigabyte X58 UDP, MSI has many problems with compatibility of RAM and Ocing is impossible at all.
i965 Extreme + Asus best choice of Ocing with multiplier and super great performance, for i940 and i920 is best choice Gigabyte ... i am here stable at QPI 170MHz + Turbo mode = i920 @ 3,6GHz Prime stable.
You are referring to the base clock, and not the QPI. QPI = QPI multiplier x base clock.
i would say 'none' but i chose giga, since it wasn't an option.
None for me as I won't be upgrading for at least 8 months but if I would Gigabyte would be my choice cuz of UD3.
Ouch, seems vanilla Bloomfields are no good for overclockers, as rumoured...
Evga
Asus ( rampage ii extreme i hope )
Evga, has the best boards to overclock on. And step-up, advance RMA, What could go wrong?
Not much info on evga?
Unless I see tangible performance difference in games from my Rampage Extreme/Q9550@4180 with 4870x2 CrossfireX I am not going anywhere. This time I will watch the others and see what the best of those is then chose. I am not in a hurry though.
Yup, MSI or giga, depending on reviews. Im not an ASUS fan.
Asus P6T6 Revo as secondary rig..
havent decided which for main.. but am leaning towards the foxconn
Some nice Dual gainestown mobo with OC capabilities and vcore control :P
Maybe Asus or Foxconn
I'm looking forward to a good RMA policy from EVGA.
None for me. I'll wait for the die shrink at least, or maybe even Sandy Bridge if I can hold out that long.
But if I did get one, it would be the Rampage II Extreme or EVGA
maybe all of them
Seens like asus is leading the way, I doubt the reviews will change peoples minds
FOXCONN all the way :D
psh i'm waiting on reviews with baited breath.
if that is indeed the correct expression.
later today we'll know right? As the NDA will be lifted ^^
ASUS Rampage II Extreme X58 or the EVGA.
None. I have no intention of buying i7.
Now, if someone was to give me one, then I'd have to figure out what board ;) but I'm not going to go out and buy one of these chips.
I'm hoping they'll make the Intel one available through their Retail Edge program.
Foxconn all the way.
asus p6t6 ws revolution here.
Holding tight( as per sig) but if i did have the coin for it. The gigabyte. With SLi support and a pair of 260GTX Core 216s. Perhaps one Core 216 and another dollop of ram.
I think it will be the ASUS. :)
Foxconn or Gigabyte .....
I think I will be going with the ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution card. :)
I have an Asus P6T Deluxe that should be delivered by the end of the week but it will only be a $300 paper weight unless I can find a Core i7 CPU and some memory. It looks like I'll have to wait another week to get my hands on them.
Going with the foxconn for main system and then 2 or 3 P6T6 for folding
bump
Where's the option for "Not sure yet"?
definitely the msi platinum, it's like 90 bucks cheaper than anyone else. Plus, the placement and layout of the nb cooler will be conveniant for my sycthe orochi. (there will be a 120mmx38 fan directly on the nb.)
Should put out some good numbers.
this should dispel some rumors:

i think i know what board i'm getting........
Msi plat for me also. I have always had good luck with msi:up: and Im not paying 400 for a mb.
For anyone looking to find non ES oc's i just found some pr0n (courtesy of ripping.org, don't know origin of chips)

I just pulled the trigger on 965 + R2E + 3x1 Kingston 2000mhz sticks. The asscheek where my wallet used to be is lonely.
I'm banking on R2E being as awesome as it's brother given sufficient BIOS support...and maintaining some resale value come december...
965EE + X58 UD5 is here...:)
that's no record by any stretch...
fugger's gotten 25k + 18.9ns with gigabyte's...
i woulnd't go with msi if they paid me, one reviewer already blew a fet on that board.
i mean, might be good for a budget, but i still think gigabyte UD5 is a better board for just a little more.
ASUS P6T is on its way along with the little number that's going to slot into it. ;)
GIGA's X58 UD5 soon, I can't wait for Westmere.
Westmere is still a year off.. And it'll be a simple shrink with some decidedly grey AES-accelerating SSE extensions. Wut?
Rampage II extreme or P6T Deluxe if money doesn't matter, Biostar Tpower X58 for best performance per dollar =)
My R2E just arrived with the rest.
Man what a beautiful MoBo.
Gigabyte, unless the foxconn blood is cheaper then i think its going to be
