First Picture of Biostar Tpower X58
-
i think thats the best one yet
-
Looks good.... the RAM tabs dont cross the PCI-E line!!!!
the 8-pin ATX plug looks a bit close to the I/O for easy disconnection but even at that....
-
It looks pretty complete. I'm glad they don't have the ASUS/DFI pcie ram hate as K404 said.
Hopefully this board will be a good performer [and remain cheap too].

DDR3 2000 ?
I thought Ram voltages over 1.65v could damage the cpu ?

tony has said that less voltage is needed but didnt give any numbers, the core2 is dirty or something so it takes more voltage than it should

DDR3 manufacturers are working on low voltage and high frequency 3go kit of DDR3 ...
-
Looks solid! Waiting on the EVGA reply :)

Ok , thanks. Makes perfect sense now.
-
After using their TPower p45, I'm looking forward to look on this one  RAMs slots doesn't match with pcie, I don't know what happened to Biostar there.
-
COuld they have possibly made it look any more like Tpower I45?

best looking of any that have been shown yet, IMO.

If it's as good as the i45 this one is mine.
-
why such ugly colors? Anyone else kinda put off by using pastels on a motherboard? Is Martha Stuart doing the color design for these or what?

what's wrong with it?
no pink, purple, cyan or lime green, about 4-5 colours max used instead of 10, and most importantly the layout looks great.
-
lol i dont get people that complain about colors... are you guys stareing at the mobos the whole time?
-
best layout for me so far.
could get my two pci cards and double height pcie gfx card in there, then my pcie areca and a second pcie double height gfx at the bottom, if i ever needed to AND 2 eSata! bonus.

2 firewire! That excites me! Seriously.
Nice layout too. Much better than alot of the x58 boards I've seen so far.
-
-
wont buy a Nehalem coz I can't afford one but this is a really nice mobo.
-
Having eSATA, and the ability to use a pci and pci express slot while running SLI, might push me into the Biostar camp for the first time.

I dont understand why the MFG cant just turn that thing (ATX jack) 180 so I can get my fat fingers to the lock.

i would assume this mobo is tri-sli capable, if so awesome, i think i found mine then, i could still use my old x-fi card in there as well :) :) BTW, kinda noob still if tri-sli would the cards (gtx280's) be bandwidth starved at all because of running x16, x8, x8?
-
I personally dont like the molex connector positioning, or the positioning of the front panel audio header, but I use dedicated sound, so that doesnt bother me as much

The lack of firewire on the i45 was a dissapointment for me, good to see they have added it this time. I'm sure it will be a cracking board.

Looks nice ;) good layout !

Firewire is a dead I/O I thought....
-
Really nice, the best so far.....
But, was necessary all that metal to cool SB?
Is there something to do with N200 under that too?
-
sxs112, that's some pretty OMFG bandwidth, but how long will it last ?

When uses 2.08 Volt test, has not any problem

So far, Gigabyte has the sexiest mainboard.

Nice looking board, i think this will complete my 3some of Gigabyte and Asus :)
-
I'm drooling for a new X58 board... what will be your suggestions?

All test use Triple-Channel ,Everest reporting it wrong

why can't ide and floppy connectors just 'go away' now... not like you can't shove a floppy on a usb if you REALLY want one anyway, and if you're buying cutting edge nehalem, you're prob not looking at ide either...
thats a fair chunk of space liberated...

Only a matter of time before theyre dead... im waiting for the day myself.

By far the best layout for any of the X58 mobos so far IMO, looks very clean, this would be my choice of X58 without doubt. I also like the 12 phase design and power & reset buttons.
-
I always thought floppy is useful for booting up RAID drivers or some such on a windows installation.

The color scheme looks straight out of the 70's

yep, i use a usb stick for that, detects as a floppy drive :) or you could just use a usb floppy drive... and vista lets you use a regular usb stick anyway. think of the 4watts you'll save by not having one running the whole time hehe.
and it's a shame but i would of prefered that small pcie slot to be a x4, looks like a x1.
