ASUS (intel platform) BIOS thread

I decided to create this thread, as it was inconvinient for me to update different threads with latest BIOS builds for several ASUS intel boards.
I hope you don't mind. I'll try to support you here within your BIOS related issues, as well as others related to ASUS boards.

Please reply only about issues that could be 100% replicated and exists. Tell about facts, not your predictions :rolleyes:
Any other requests - PM's are welcome, though i can reply with a little delay due to a lot of other work to do.

Of course i would constantly update 1st post, within range of the boards that are most common here, so no low-end boards support from my side, hope you understand that.

ASUS Rampage Extrem Link is not working !!

after using p5q 1307 bios there is aone prob.
the mobo. logo show befor the vista loading screan for very littel period

No, they're not public, so please be aware of fact that some builds could be working worse than previous stable builds, but they're there for your pleasure :)
Of course some of those builds could become stable, anyway, i'm focused on not available through official channel ones. Please also don't feel, i'm trying to make a bunch of guinea pigs - just if you wish, you can try :)

Ket, changelog for every version will make the post huge. Is there any option on the forum to show/hide any particular text? I'm very lazy :)

Not sure, but if you PM me the changes I can include them under the "asus changes" heading in the readme files I do with the modded versions :up:

Dear PMP, I appreciate a lot what you are doing.
I hope you can correct or you can inform the people that can correct following big issue with BIOS of Rampage Formula 406-407-408-410:

- above BIOSes lock the PC at CPU INIT of POST routine or even before, if you have mounted on second PCIe x16 connector a SAS/SCSI disk controller.

Last BIOS working is 403. If you flash any of the above BIOS, the PC doesn't start at all. It acts like the boot block of BIOS was corrupted.
I noted that 406-407-408-410 use the same boot block that is different from 403, I suspect that new boot block has some code not compatible with a lot of PCIe disk controllers.
You can find a brief list of controllers not working in this thread.

I wish this bug will be corrected in a near future, thanks.

Anyone know what the latest P5Q-E 1402 BIOS bring? I'm guessing more RAM compatibility fixes?

I'm not entirely sure on the changes but something in the SMBIOS is changed for windows 7 compatibility or something, apart from that I'm not sure what is different. Right now I'm back on 1004 for this P5Q Pro with a bunch of my own improvements as 1104 was a little flaky and 1306 is a nightmare, haven't even bothered with 1307.

pmp, the Rampage Extreme BIOS 0503 is a dead link.. :(

1402 running fine here so far and I have to note that my idle voltage before was 1.316, fluctuated to 1.324, but now it is 1.324 and fluctuates to 1.328 (every so often)... lol .... Then in Orthos Blend test for the first 2 min it stayed at 1.328, but in the 3rd min it hit the same as before (on my 16hrs prime) 1.336 ... so i must say this new bios sems to be a little better on vdroop (for me anyway) and yes i still have LLC set on enabled like before.

installed bios 1201 on my maximus extreme (thanks for posting it up) can't tell any difference still same max fsb , i thought some of the rampage extreme max fsb magic would have rubbed off but alas not but works ok at all same votages speeds as 1104

just installed 0501 for Rampage extreme and load line calibration now works

fine, and doesn't compromise Vdroop no more.

I guess I'll bring it up, 400 strap barely works on P5Q Pro. Setting the 400 strap and leaving memory divider on auto will usually allow the system to POST, but is completely useless as memory frequency is very low even with a high FSB. Setting memory frequency manually immediately causes the system to not POST.

No its not my CPU. I can run 1800MHz+ quad pumped FSB. Even my old AW9D-Max could run a 400 strap with my E4400 absolutely fine.

j/k...no really...PMP...the link to the 503 bios doesn't work.

PMP, do you know if any future Rampage Formula bios will include bios options for MCH / CPU clock skew adjustment or if its even possible to implement them in current design? I believe they were added to the P5E3 semi recently so perhaps these two options are possible. Would be great having these 2 options and I'm sure a lot of overclockers would welcome them too.

PMP - great job with this thread, but as the others have said... 0503 link for the RE is still not working!

Is there any solution with the P5Q Deluxe in combination with 2x2GB OCZ XTC Platinum 1066?

Anybody here have the P5Q DELUXE with the new BIOS build 1402 i got the 0803 version still any changes? is it worth it?

Sir Pmp is it possible to add a new post once you post new biosses to the first post, eg we had the new P5Q Dlx 1403 bios since the 24th but this thread was already on page 3 so prolly noone noticed it besides the die hards that have this thread as a favourite... also are changelogs only included in the zipfile ?

sorry for the noobish question, but I just ordered a P5Q PRO (P45) and an e8400, to replace a dead Asus P5b-deluxe I had. Is the .rom file in these BIOS files good for floppy drive update via Bios, or is there a better recommended method?

The .rom file is too big for a floppy, most use a usb Flash stick/disc, whatever they are called :) There are other options as well, but not a floppy.

Burn the BIOS to a CD if you don't have a USB stick / thumb drive / whatever they are called. ;)

Oh yeah, USB drive needs to be FAT32 formatted.

Still working on that issue, check your PM around friday.

Didn't notice any changes with 0601 on RE ... but the problem with optical sata , speeding HDD enabled and Ich9R in raid mode hasn't solved yet . :(

In fact this one fixes eg. support for Intel Matrix Storage Console which now, with 0601 properly shows up Ports5/6. Some high density RAM modules interoperability is changed as well... :)

I am requesting the mBIOS builds by Ket added.

Btw, you should fix "Striker Extreme" to Striker II Extreme just to save people some time thinking it is 680i ;)

If there was an easy, fast and organized way to post the changelog, it would be great as that is what many times motivates people to upgrade (including me).

I have a request for the Premium X48 board:

could it be possible to get a Bios that allows more fine tuning for the NB GTLRef ? as for the Rampage Extreme for example ? As we have only 2 values to choose on Premium board.
