This is probably the latest they could have released it. However I imagine all those interested in SLI would really appreciate this design and the STYLE of this block.

I was looking at that too. They do have that one screw in the bottom right. As long as its a hardmount I think it should be good.

Edit: Well, loking at the smallest width on the blocks, the channels must be tiny. Oh well, on a secondary loop it doesnt matter much. But i know people are goung to put it in the loop with the gfx\cpu anyways.. :(

I have to wonder how they make money on these. Only a small subset of people who bought a specific board will watercool the bridges and of that subset most proably already own blocks. I guess if you nail the product design in niche market you can charge enough to make it worthwhile.

Awesome looking blocks though, I just love the finish.

Also, no more overtightening on the top, because it screws in from the bottom.

What are you talking about, I'm still waiting for the 780i version of these :D. Screw Nehalem, I just finished getting my Q9300 setup, no way I'm handing Intel anymore of my money for at lest another year or two.

Well, mips survives since several years in that niche market, so it is possible.
Agree, the finish looks really nice, now we can just hope versions for x38 / x48 and p45 are comming.

could be tricky but the FTW looks very similar to the reference design.

For Main Block..Nvidia reference design is all the same...Only the MOS blocks have little bit difference..But...I think ours can match thier new version...

Depends on the manufacturer. Some of the 780i need only 1 block, some need 2... there's a chart someplace that lists what model has what blocks, I just need to find it.

Edit: This is from the EK site and lists compatibility of their blocks, but seems like a good enough reference. ASUS 780i needs 2 mosfets blocks, but the EVGA 780i (both of them) is listed as only needing 1 mosfet block. I know the EVGA 780i I have has a fairly beefy heatsink/heatpipe on the left of the 775 socket, but the mosfets on the top side of the socket only have a very tiny heatsink attached to them without any heatpipe. Presumably that little heatsink is able to handle the load just fine.

Yes 750i only needs one. By the IO panel.

Very nice looking, would love some X38/48 compatible blocks (I wouldn't use an nVidia mobo again if it was bought for me). :)

In our design schedule...We ignored that one far away from I/O...Will check with our engineer and add that to our MOS Block List...

No. they mount the same. screws go through the underside of the board up to the mosfet block...exactly the same.

I stopped letting my wife touch my computer. EVERY time she does, something breaks. Hell, last time, she just came into the room, and the psu shorted out.

Is there anyway you could combine the 2 mosfet blocks into 1 like that northbridge/southbridge? I was thinkn vincent, if you make the blocks higher, and went over the phase modules resistors, you could get a decient water channel. Also the inlet could be on 1 mosfet block, and travel to the second mosfet block.

Or vincent, if thats too difficult, can you make a U fitting that would connect the two blocks via hardpipe?

Yeah, I don't see a problem with twisting. I always experience a bit of bowing when using mosfet blocks and no backplate. Bowing gives you greater contact on the extents where the screws are but less contact in the middle.

Luckily mosfest backplates are super easy to make yourself with some thin alu, a dremel and a drill. :up:

Its very easy, and I wouldn't add Mosfet blocks to any board without them! Let me know if you need measurements or anything, be glad to help you out.

Blocks are georgeous, there's just something about all metal blocks that I like! But after going from my 680i to my DFI, I think I'm officially a DFI fanboi:D. I've just never had such a good stable board before..I'm spoiled now.

Would love to see some of that all metal goodness on the DFI X48 mosfet..:D

To fit that sexy N/S bridge block, you need to remove the passive heatpipe sync from the 790i, which in turn includes the mosfets.

To be fair, the neck between the NB and SB, seems really thin. I think it would be quite restrictive.

Besides, it looks sick and the SB doesnt really need that much cooling, as long as it doesnt affect the NB, then is cool.

Man, I will be done buying stuff in one more week and I really hope this blocks gets at least an ETA soon!

Yes, I also planned on having a fan on the SB (evercool gpu 40mm fan)
But with this, I know I will be able to do Tri-SLI (if I do it anyday) and one less fan

Now, if I could only hear one word from Vincent...

That GPU clearance being a Big issue with the EK block i got now on my SB & not hear a fan if i choose to air cool the SB to get a C/F up & running
Even a heat pipe over to the SB from the NB would work for me :D

I still think there's no need for the water to flow over the SB.

Having the water go in and out around the NB would lower the restriction and provide plenty cooling to the adjacent SB (as much as it needs and its not a lot).

Yes for those of you having a separate loop it's not a big difference, but it would help those of us running single loops if we could add a NB/SB cooling solution and not kill our flow.

Well is not that I dont care about the SB but I heard a review from kingping that the key to his overclock was voltage for the SB, I know it does not apply to everybody but thats one thing. On the other side, The SBs from now are getting really hot and not giving them proper cooling might bring trouble so I prefer to stay safe.

I don't have a place for a second rad, unless I want it hanging off the back of my case, and I move it fairly often, so that's a no-no. I would LOVE a second loop in my case. Getting 3 more San Aces for the rad might prove a little tricky, as I had to search freaking everywhere to find the few I do have.
