Project: Lian Li A01 - HTPC - Watercooled - 56k Warning

Hi there!

currently i´m building a little htpc which will replace several single components like music, tv, vcr...
basis for this build is the Lian Li A01. some people call it the ugliest Lian Li case ever but i like it:

first of all i removed everything from the case i will not use later like hd and dvd cage. after that i painted the mb tray white (i want to have i nice black and white contrast for the wohle case).

at this point i sent my MB to AnFi Tec Germany. it is a little company which produces verry nice watercooler and in my opinion the most beautyfull 775 cpu cooler which you can find at the moment. but you will see them later.
in the time i had no mb i was walking arround the case and after a few days i noticed that the white mb tray is not really beautyfull. so what could i do? exactly - i stripped down the case and painted it black.

the first problem appeared. i mounted the radi a little bit to low. the tube folded. so i had to attach the radi 2 cm higher. fortunately i stuck the radi with double sided tape. it was easily to remove. after mounting it 2cm higher i got a nice radius for the tubes.

I love your lian li v350 and this one is going to be awesome again, MDPC for sure.

Just one thing I don't like is the motherboard because of multiple color, you should have go with DFI JR lanparty but for the rest it's really amazing.

as i started this project the asus p5e-vm hdmi was the only black board with hdmi available. and that orange and yellow you got on that dfi .... hmmm, no, to screaming for me.

no overclocking for two reasons: 1. i still don´t have the cpu. :D and 2. this is not really an overclocking setup. i don´t think a passive radiator is a good choice for overclocking.

what should i worry about? there are more than enough good anti corrosion fluids on the market... if someone uses only distilled water i think corrosion is his own fault.

as i said - with a good anti corrosion fluid that is no problem. in my v350 i have also mixed metals and not a single problem. ;)

what will you be using as a fluid? ive seen my share of corrosion with a number of different fluids.

not sure if there are any extensive tests on anti corrosive fluids and how effective they really work

but i will do a search, and im sure there really isnt alot to worry about. just something everyone questions

I used both products both for more then a half year and both sucked (not both at the same time). The first one turned my distilled water into pee. I mixed it with some blue UV stuff, so that turned out green. It didn't even help. I had lots of corrosion in my loop after 6 months.

The second one is better but still messed up my loop.

sorry, but if you mix diffrent products without knowing how they react with each other, that is not the fault of the product.
i´m using anti corro fluid in a mixed metal loop and i have no pee, corrosion or any other things.
it has a rason that on each product you can read "don´t mix it with other products". ;)

Read again. I didn't mix both products. I used the anti-corrosion pee combined with distilled water.

all i can say is that with the right mixture i never had any problems...

there is one problem with the p4 cable. it also has this new plug with 6 pins and this plug doesn´t fir behind the mb tray. so i had to remove it. looks not so pretty but you wont see it later.

it´s a mix of two sleeves. i use techflex flexopet as ground and the second layer is filter flexo. but it´s getting very expansive because of the two layers. i spent 70€ only for the psu sleeving. :(

2 layers? ahhh...so that's why the wires come out so clean :D

I love it, white is perfect for my next project, where did you buy it ??

cant see the new pics but i saw the psu progress pics and sleeving supplies last night. looks great trem.

What's this filter flexo, I've never heard of it?

Also, kick @ss job on the sleeving, very inspirational.

That's very extreme :P That you also buy a white sound card for your system.
