Microcool banchetto 101 (bench table)
-
Looks really slick, can't tell how many radiators I could hook up to it though.

take a look at the source page (link I gave), they show many other views of the table.

Nice but too expensive-
Dimas solution is cheaper, as is Danger Dens

:shocked::slobber::slobber:
I think I am in love

just found  sounds it was already announced in an Italian forum, and relayed by VRzone earlier this year (March).

A prototype was presented at CEBIt fair this year and I had the chance to touch it. It's really a nice piece of work. Now it is coming the final version, I like very much the removable racks above all for water cooling.
Browsing the Italian web you could find some pics.

OWO!
Great Clean Look!

Nice but real benchers use cardboard motherboard boxes :p:
-
Yes but does it have a good airflow?
I see no intake fans!

:ROTF: reminds me of when i didn't have a case and i took a low profile cardboard box and cut holes for all the ports and stuff and screwed it in all ghetto style. worked well too :)
this would be awesome if it weren't so pricey...

I don't think this is supposed to be a pure "benching" setup. If I remember correctly, Engadgnet featured this as a different kind of case. Rather than having all your shiny components hidden away in a case, it's free for all the world to see, and in an elegant manner. :)

agreed, the "table" looks good enough and has enough features to allow a permanent build.

+1 I like to be able to see all my sexy expensive hardware. I quite like this case(?), more so than a torture rack or equivalent, i think this one has more class. :yepp:

Sorry 'bout the double post, but check this out: The radiator plate looks to have adjustable fan spacing, maybe it will fit a PA120.3?
-
yep, could be, adjustable fan spacing would be fantastic...
-
The Banchetto's water cooler rack is designed also to fit ThermoChill radiators, anyway if you don't use water cooling or use a radiator up to two fans, you could also fix fans directly on the rack.
IMHO Banchetto 101 was born to bea bench table, but it is possible to use it as a regular daily case if you setup all your hw stuffs in a good looking way and I know a lot of friends of mine on this modding way :yepp:

this thing costs way to much....
-
Look at that quality  They have done a really nice work i must say
-
ah, i still prefer a syrofoam box for the more extreme ln2 +dice setups...
this one is more for show
-
Just FYI. The upper part, designed for the motherboard, can be removed and used separated from the block.
Order is important and also safeness, in this way u can preserve your component from various kind of accidents that can occurr during a hard benching session.
Plus every single plexy piece is lasercut (no "blade profiles" that can cut fingers or hands during the handling), and it's quite expensive in production... the metal parts are made in anodized aluminium, another expensive material compared to others.
Also the buttons are "special", and the threads are hidden by chromed metal cylinder. More elegant, and plus u cannot touch the cable connection when assembled.
Every parts has been deeply studied to offer the maximum quality and safeness.
this product cannot be cheap, at all...
-
Looks really nice and all but for that price, screw it. My mobo cardboard box does fine.
Would be nice to see a less gimmicky but still very functional design of same idea.
-
I think this is another approach then Dimas, Dimas is the simple straightforward bench setup, made with quality and costs in mind.
With this one, they dropped the costs as something to worry about, convining themselfs to an even smaller market niche. I like the pics and build quality looks amazing as is the material choiches. But it's way to expensive for me to even consider.
-
Sorry, just to have an info...
But what about a 500 euro VGA card.... or a 1000 euro cpu?
The same u can do with a 500 euro vga u can do with another at half the price, if u mean benching... maybe u need the monster...
A 1000 euro cpu is useless for the 99,9% of users...
But i see tons of 500 euro vga around, or 1000 euro cpu... so...
What's the point?
If u want quality and performances @ top level.... u must buy the top..and the top HAS TO COST MORE!
Every cars have 4 wheels, and an engine... and with every car you can go wherever you want... so why someone buys a Mercedes or Bmw?
I don't think that "wasting money" has become a sport!
Another example... Canon produces various kind of Camera lens for its Reflex Camera...
U can buy a 70/300 @ 250 euro more or less...or a 70/200 @ 1500 euros... I mean.. they should be the same... but the image quality is completely different.
There's always a reason if something has a particular cost, as explained in my previous post.
-
Kamel you're essentially saying exactly what I am saying, without getting the part about limiting yourself to an even smaller niche. The people who posted it's to much for them do not mean it does not have it's place in the market. I just for a buisiness point of view you're not relying on bulk orders as you probably won't be getting them for that price even if the quality is superb, but that's just my opinion.
Now if you had a second version, allot cheaper and using a litle less fancy materials and less attention to esthetics ( though that contredicts allot off your current design and what set's you apart from most others ) I probably could be interested.
I'm not putting the product down, I admire the visuals I see. I'm just  at price that's all.

agreed; believe it or not I was thinking about cases' prices this morning for my next build; was thinking about the new LL PC-X2000 (just thinking, I won't buy it) and its price. It's just out now in Germany at 399 euros. Expensive for a case? so what...what's the price of a QX 9770, a triple SLI of GTX280, a high end motherboard...Just came to the conclusion that cases, all cases, are very cheap...a case is a major component in a system right, and you can already get brilliant ones under 300 euros ...so the price of the Banchetto doesn't disturb me at all.
-
That's true, a good case will cost a bit and this is one of them.

True again, but how big of a market share does LianLi have :)
Edit: I'm begining to see that no matter how much I stress it's just my opinion in the end it will look like I'm putting the product down and I don't want to spoil the thread. \thread for me.

the thing looks hot i want one
alot better lookin then the hspc techstation i have now....no more cases for me thanks

Damn, that is one nice looking piece of kit. Forget about using it as a bench table, it would be my 24/7 case, its different, love the way every component just fits into place.
Got one major problem though, I'd have to remember to turn the computer off every time as my misses, she'd try and polish the motherboard or clean the fans whilst there on, I really wouldn't want to think of the consequences. Then again a shock or two might not be a bad thing :D
Anyway's less of the negative talk, anyone know where I can get hold of one of these?
Found some more pictures:
-
Ideal bench table , but 200 euros is pretty expensive
-
It looks absolutely fantastic, and I'm sure it's a great product, but especially with the exchange rate it's just two expensive. It'd be kind of nice if it had a ark mount option like on the Dimas tech bench table.
-
Only problem I have is the power supply location. It really should be on the back of the enclosure.
-
Haha...my wife saw this and wants one, told her she could buy it for me. :D

i noticed that too...i wonder why they'd do that?
-
-
For the moeny, it should have a shell so you can use it as a case. Just under 200 Euros? I'll get a mountain mods case instead. Damn... that's way too much money.
Very nice looking though, artistic imho. Just not worth that amount of money.

If you look at the layout, it would make it problematic because of the radiator.
Either the power in is on the front like now, and the mess of cables coming out the back, or the mess of cables from the PSU is on the front.
-
NIce bench table but as said so many time, for lN2 users the space between plexi and the back of the mobo still to tight...
it can be an issues with some "exotic" LN2 block or big insulation !
-
Or just longer stand offs.

I was searching for more info on the Banchetto 101 case when I came across another unusual design. It is designed by Antec and its called the Skeleton and it has a huge 220mm fan with 3 speeds.
Quote:
Antec's new Skeleton chassis is meant for gamers and perpetual tinkerers. The motherboard sits on the upper level. One the lower level, a power supply, two optical drives and two hard drives can be fitted.
The ~220mm fan blows down onto the motherboard and creates enough airflow to keep everything well cooled. It has three speeds, and a unique LED feature.
The outer frame is made mostly of plastic. The steel component tray slides out easily for access. The PSU tray also slides out similarly. The motherboard tray can also be removed from the main tray. A bar across the side between the component tray and the fan is meant to screw down the video card and PCI slot boards.
A system was hastily assembled into the Skeleton. The drives slide and lock easily into place. This is the front side of the Skeleton, complete with the usual complement of power and reset switches, and USB, Firewire, eSATA and audio connectors.
The Zerotherm tower heatsink was a very tight squeeze but it just happened to be on this motherboard. A fan-on-top CPU cooler is strongly recommended, probably without the fan. Because of the right spacing, a typical 120mm fan PSU does not appear to be a good fit. The in-line airflow design of a classic 80mm fan PSU appears to be more suitable. Note: These details may change by the time the Skeleton is available for purchase, in September.
Interesting, anyone know of any other chassis out there with unusual designs like these?
Here's ya go:

Banchetto 101 for sure it's not the first bench table on the market, but probably the first one to be so compact and modular. I find very usefull the removible aluminum cages. Regarding the design you could like it or not but this is an other story.
-
I like,
200euro is a lot but its looks Fab. :D I hope the PSU location gets sorted.

DAMN, the more I see the Banchetto the more I want one, so sleek looking.
I went on microcool's website and it will be available on Aqua-pcs (UK e-tailor) in September for around £170 pounds, for anyone in the UK who is interested.
-
don't think the Antec Skeleton could be used as a bench table, but I admit it looks fantastic
-
-
I think this toy looks great. Only problem for me is that it doesn't mix with young children lol.. What does this little button do? Now, what would happen if I were to rip this card (what is that.. it says Nvidia) out of here... lol :)
-

I really like it! Typical Italian flair :) It's not that much more than the other tech benches I've seen and is far more aesthetically pleasing :) No 3 on my wish list. IanY the children scenario was very good....... "why is the fan not going round......" as pencil goes in it lol
pic one Dimas Bench pic two Tech staion ( which has had patent pending for 8 years lol )
-
I can't wait to get hold of one of these, sleeeeeek.
-
im going to Italy next month anyone know good pc hardware stores that will have this and other stuff??
-
it's smooth and nice id get one for 24/7
id just have to make sure it was sitting above my table other wise when i spill my captian and monster id be a pissed off drunk
-
Hahaha. My system will perpetually smell of coffee as I repeatedly knock my mug every morning before I'm fully awake. :p:
-
Hahaha the video cards will smell like a combination of tomato sauce, curry and soy sauce as I keep eating take out food at my desk, no doubt aided along by the twin fans above the cpu. Lol. :)
-
-
Very nice.. how much does it cost?
-
Wow. Very, very nice. I quite like those black barbs, are they built in?
-
can we buy these in the USA yet? :D
-
the cost in Italy and in Europe will be about 200 € tax included ...
everything you see but the hardware and the modding items (as push fittings) are included in the box ...
I don' t know when this bench table will be sold in USA, I think quite soon ...
-
Very nice, has a very high quality. Also love the way the liquid matches the Nanoxia fans.
-
A real bencher would never buy this.
-
Hands down the prettiest attept to horizontal computer open-case.

Banchetto 101 is very compact, the measures are 400(L) x 350(W) x 362(H) mm
Yes you can put in a shelf but don't forget to ask your wife to dust it from time to time :ROTF:

is this bench table available anywhere?

why 92mm fans instead of 120mm

I think the two 92mm fans at side mobo are more compact and enought to cool down the cpu area (mem included)
Anyway with a full system setup you have 3 120mm fans on radiator blowing air inside the system and 2 92mm fans on mainboard. Due to the fact it is open air case, I suppose it's right

Any further news on the release of the Banchetto 101...i thought it was coming out in September but I have heard know news in ages, anyone...
-
still nothing on this? i want one!!!!!!!
-
Hi mate, i'm the same I really want this case/table, I've been waiting for this badboi for a while now. :)
This is what I know, I contacted a certain shop and I was told this
"I believe there was a manufacturing issue in china plus the recent Chinese holidays would have delayed the case slightly."
I was also told it is now expected in stock middle to late November, quite a slip from early September but I guess that's the IT business. I did speak to someone from Microcool but they wasn't exactly helpful. Hopefully it will be November, i got a feeling it could be 2009 though, so i wouldn't hold your breathe.
-
I dont get it.
Cant fin them anywhere.
-
No you won't do because they are not out yet, middle to late November, so i was told.
-
-
you can pre order them from sidewinder computers
info as of 17 oct
-
This is nice but I would take the dimas table over this guy any day. :)
-
I can't find this case for sale anywhere. Does anyone know what happened to it? Is it still coming out? Any ideas when?
-
Neither can I, have been waiting for that though

It is available at "www.tdshop.it" but they do not deliver to the UK so i very much doubt they will post to the US of A. I did e-mail Microcool and they said it is only currently available in the above shop and a USA shop, but they never told me which shop. Still an American e-tailor isn't much use to me either. I do think aqua-pcs might be stocking it in the UK soon, but no idea when, more than likely after Christmas
