Nice find there Oliverda !!!
She is ok now.. LOL... Did he want a K9A2 Plat board?.. I'd sell for $100.00
Thanks for the review oliverda.
Funny, I thought SB750 comes with an integrated clock generator but thet board still comes with an ICL9LPRS. Maybe used for PCIe only?
Very nice review,
Although the review somehow sucks a bit too.
They didnt test OC'ing with a Phenom, almost no word about hCFX (whether the Hybrid works with high-end cards and for example power usage)...
But well, first review, Im happy. Im quite impressed with the RS780D's performance graphics wise too!
check newegg again, looks like jumped the gun or something. it now says "deactivated item". too bad i was gonna buy one right now.
I am not sure

That was more of an overview (imo),nice BIOS screens not to many conclusions.
One thing I didn't like (guess they don't know?) is how they said
HT can go to 2.6 never mind the fact that NB has to be at 2.6 at least.
Oh well we know
The NDA might include any results from overclocking due to the new SB750 and ACC stuff... but they did include a few teaser benchmarks that aren't affected by any of that stuff so this wasn't an NDA leak.
INTERESTING QUESTION: If you turn ACC on and it automatically sets your CPU to a higher speed does that become the new STOCK speed for that CPU when using the SB750 or is the new speed an overclocked speed?
In other words... if you flip ACC on with a Phenom 9950 and it then runs at 3.0Ghz with no need for you do anything else is that now the NORMAL stock speed? (And you can always overclock above that if you wish to?)
I can imagine the flame wars that would cause. We know that there are many people that will claim the answer to the above question is that it is already overclocked regardless of how simple using ACC might be. (Some people won't want a Phenom 9950 running at 3.0Ghz compared to Intel chips running at their "stock" speeds.)
I might be, do you have everything that came w/ the board or just the board itself?
If you wanna throw in the 9850be, that would sweeten the deal. ;) jk
edit:
My ram kits are rated at 2.1-2.3v and 2.0-2.1v. Will this work on the board? I really don't want to have to buy new ram since I have 4 gigs already.
edit 2:
Your ram is rated 2.1v, so I should be good.
Remember this question when Deneb 2.8Ghz launches in Q4.Will the 3.2Ghz speed with ACC on K10.5 be a legit core clock to compare it with Nehalem,or will intel fanboys argue it's not fair(although intel will have its own TURBO function for boosting a single core clock when apps are monothread in nature).
Very good question indeed.
Enabling ACC does not change any core clock speeds or other performance enhancing settings. All it does is enable the new interface, it is still up to the user to properly tune and clock the system. Not every CPU will benefit (I have one that actually got worse with ACC) although on average most of the BE processors are seeing a 100~300MHz increase in speed over previous results with the SB600/700 Southbridge.
Ooops. I thought turning it on automatically gave you a certain amount of added speed. So you are saying that turning it on is just like chaning a bios setting from "AUTO" to "MANUAL" and having it unlock other settings which you can then change if desired... well fair enough. It was nice to see some of those settings in the bios screenshots I saw earlier today. Independently for each core. (I'm a Linux/FreeBSD user.)
I guess it doesn't matter: if people can get 3.4Ghz-3.5Ghz with 65nm Phenoms then that is good regardless of whether it is "automatic" or not.
Still waiting for the MicroATX flavors of this chipset, looks like currently theres 4 brands out on the egg so far
Yes It ship earlier today. Says Thursday est.. But I have never has go past Wednesday. So we'll see... My wife got over it, but I am still going to sell the board if someone wants it.. other wise, i guess it doesn't hurt to have a spare AM2+ laying around. I have 2 other systems, Phenom 9600BE, X2 4200+ 65nm.

Newegg just lowered the price on my board 5 bucks.. grrrr LOL.. Oh Well
If it makes ya feel any better... It went right back up! :p:
I only noticed, cause I was doing some research of my own....
I'm leaning toward the Asus M3A78-T. I know it's kind of silly to buy so early, but I've been waiting way too long for the SB750 release. :D
Look here:
790GX Review
They overclocked a X4 9850 to 3.1 GHz..
Nice review on the Asus M3A78-T

I'll wait for my trusty D.F.I:)
Curse you newegg, the board arrived today a day early but the processor arrives tomorrow!:brick:
Which one are you getting? If you didnt order one yet that is;).
Im waiting for my DK 790FXB-M2RS. Could have gone for the UT 790FX-M2RS however the UT doesnt really offer anything superior over the DK and offers about the same OC results. UT brings a few more features and that heatpipe, but I never used the heatpipe, so I decided to save me ~70 Euro's and get the DK:yepp:
Oh.. It is in pieces....http://3800z24.info/Phenom/h20_220_apagee.jpg
