Rampage Formula does 590*8 on air.

Hi all!
I am a member of the another Hungarian overclock team called HUN eXtreme OC Team and this is my first bigger result. Hope you'll enjoy it. Please feel free to post a comment.:)
Today I received my 1 week old rampage formula. yeah it is used :ROTF:
After the first booting at stock clocks I started to raise the fsb.
my max fsb in bios was 593mhz.

I booted easily into windows at 575*8 and ran superpi 1m.
my time is really weak for this clock but I didn't tweak anything and that is my everyday use dirty vista :rolleyes:

after these results I tried to reach max fsb with 8* multi and still safe voltages.

this is the top. I saw 595*8 at the same voltage but after the OS crashed I lost my valid....

vcore : 1.5625v set in bios
vpll: 1.6v real
vtt: 1.5v set in bios
vnb: 1.57v set in bios
vsb: 1.1v

Rampage can do more . I can run 3d's at 590mhz on air , 615fsb spi1m & 600fsb pifast .

subaruwrc , try to tweak the gtl & fsb termination .With proper values you'll gain some more for sure .

few more little fsb and spi gives me error...
Im on the fsb 600 barier but when I tried to validate I saw the message: please upgrade to cpu-z 1.46+ :mad:
but no problem I will give few more vcore and it will be sub 10 sec
this cpu is a monster. fsb 600*8 valid just frozen with only 1.52v vcore :clap:

It looks max fsb on 8* multi that can be validated :( maybe my half dead xp sp3 is not the best for stability....

my OCZ PC9200 reapers have a big wall at 1200mhz so I changed onto my another OCZ kit. this flex xlc pc9600 modules have quimonda IC's so they arent the best for me... but in single channel it was enough stable to reach fsb 604*7.

ambient room temp is about 26C now. closed windows keeps out 38c :ROTF:

Need a new mobo but with DDR3 just still too expensive but so close, kind seems like a waste...

When i played with a commando, the board reached 585 and got stuck there, not able to pass. then i popped in a friends Crucial and got 600fsb same settings. i want to know if it might be the same with this rampage? u and stelios got 600+ with both using OCZ ram.

can u try other ram and see if u can do the same fsb?

my teams can do 1333 so its not mem limited

Tomorrow I will test it with 2gigs of cas4 ballistix and a pair of oem micron d9gmh. today I played a little with 2*512 supertalent pc 8500 but I wasnt able to reach 7*600 with the same settings :shrug:

and the ram is cabable of 1200mhz?

Before the FSB test they did 626mhz everest bench and superpi 2m with 2.46v.

My 4850 is arriving for about 4 weeks so If it not comes I will wait until 4870X2 too.

No they are double sided. And actually micron d9 gmh-s. But maybe the mobo doesnt really love them :shrug:
little improvement that I can go back into bios at 7*600 ( before 7*590 was max) and windows boots at 7*590 but when I reach 7*597 its freeze.. dont know exactly why. I changed the cpu and nb gtl settings maybe because of this...

yeah she does :D I really love her. after my P5K ( 557fsb max) and my DFI DK p35 T2RS ( 570fsb max) it is way much better :clap:

for 600mhz I gave them 2.35v real. but they stuck at 600mhz really hard. after those sticks I wasnt able to reach anything above 597mhz...
my cpu is 43-44 celsius warm at 4700mhz+ in idle measured with realtemp 2.60. the nb is 51 celsius at 1.712v.

Some days ago I bought a pair of 16FD5 Ballistix :D they seems pretty good.
1150 4-4-4-4 benchable with 2.48v set in bios. There is an OCZ XTC cooler above them so they are cool maybe I should try max FSB again with *6 multi.

I have those stick's too.

CL3 @ 1000MHz
CL4 @ 1200MHz
CL5 @ 1300MHz

All that with 2.55V and 1M benchable ;)

CL3 1000mhz sounds hard :clap:
1200 cl4 and 1300+ cl5 is easy. I usually feed them above 2.55v :D

That E4300 is the only cpu u have? maybe it hasn't got enough FSB to reach 1300mhz or higher. but try 1:2 ratio and 325 fsb.

My max formula did 600fsb. I'm currently running 8x563 (4.5Ghz) for 24/7. I have a E8600.

nice result for just air , get some LN2 and show us some nice results .

are u sure that your cpu has a wall? maybe the x38 has :shrug: haven't u tired the cpu in a different board?

Yep, I am pretty sure that my CPU has wall. I got D9GMH RAM-s, so it is not a limiting factor either. And I have seen 560+ FSB with Maximus Formula...

i got this with NB on LN2 and CPU LN2.

cpu -85
NB -24 , didnt know the coldbug, thought it was -27 but i went over it later and it didnt freeze.

I got 610 FSB easy
and a pi run at 602 x 9.5 but that was my CPU limit. this board can easily do 630+ when NB is properly frozen!

Nice result. It seems my board has a limit at fsb 600 on air cause I can only reach that much with all the multipliers. So not cpu wall. Little more in single channel but it needs Ln2 or Dice on NB. Would be nice to see 630*8 on my little wolfie. :ROTF:
