around when do 8.7 come out?
oh and do these include support for HD48XX
Doesnt seem too bad. CPU mhz low but these are the only settings i have pic with 8.6 hotfix (4850). CFX stock so 775mhz for all 3 cores, CCC default.

8.7b ?:

VC-1 DXVA playback fixed! Was good on 8.5 but broken in 8.6 and 48x0 hotfix :yepp:
They work fine on my 4870. Good for a slight FPS increase in Quake Wars (opengl).
These were supposed to fix EDID issue with some monitors that resulted in no image over DVI when the driver was loaded. I'll try them asap.
EDIT: Not fixed :(
i heard 8.7 would make PowerPlay more aggressive to lower idle power consumption. does it? i'll install on my rig when i get home this afternoon and report back if nobody else does before then.
no change in powerplay. the driver works though. i played a quick round in CoD4 and it looks like it renders better when i get flashed with CrossFire enabled. didn't notice any other immediate differences though.
These are supposedly for the R700

i tried these and I crashed everytime I entered 3d mode.
reverted back to 8.6 hotfix and everythign working like a dream
Had a quick run in Bioshock with 4850 - no problemsQuote:
"R700" = ati2mtag_R7X, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9441
i ran CoD4 with 4870 CrossFire and it worked. that's all i've tried so far though.
bata driver for r700

downloading right now!
I have to say, these drivers messed up my install really badly. I've never had a problem with drivers like this . My pc would boot up, and as soon as it logged on, my screen would go black. Had to start in safe mode and do a system restore to be able to logg back in....
There's reason they are still in beta stage i guess :p:, but I'm glad you got things back on track again with relative ease.
no issues here, performance down a bit on hd3870x2's.
it's a bata for the 4870x2 only from what i've read
these drivers borked my vista install when i started messing with my cards, directx issues and crossfire detection issues, its a good think i use the complete pc backup built into vista.... went back to HF 8.6 and everything is sexy once again....
Works fine on HD2900 crossfire and has long avaited crossfire profile for Race Driver Grid. Works fine on Crysis, Oblivion and GRID on Windows XP SP3.
Have anyone noticed there's new feature in Avivo video tab in CCC -ADVANCED QUALITY. It has two options; Edge Enhancement and De-noise. Haven't seen these before on 2900 series.
thats in the hotfix 8.6 also
Catalyst 8.7 beta, very bad.
yesterday tray Vista64 4870. gpu-z 4870 memory speed 1mhz bandwith 1mhz. sistem not stable... very bad
Tried these drivers, and they sucked.
I have no problem with these, other than dead DVI out...
So far been great drivers under vista x64. Return of the scaling slider.

Also enabled dual monitor (extended desktop) while running crossfire using 2900xt's :D

Driver issue. 3870s and 3850s work fine; with generic Microsoft driver it works fine; when ATI driver is loaded image disappears. Monitor is detected in CCC and I can extend a desktop onto it... only it shows black. Several people have the same issue with different monitors. One of them was told by an ATI technician that it's a driver issue with EDID on some monitors, and that fixed drivers are on the way.
Hey when does the lowered idle clocks fix come? I'd like to see my 4850 idling around 50-100mhz, not 500mhz
I swore there was one that let you run 160 mhz core and 500 mhz or so memory.
there's an MSI bios that allows you to do that, but I'm hoping a simple Catalyst update can fix everything, if not I'll just download the msi bios, mod it with RBE to get me above 700mhz 3d and then later on get some better cooling and push for 900mhz with some hard modding
I tried to install these drivers on a Vista 32-bit system I just built... Do not work.
Any one got an idea when the real 8.7 comes out? This is my first ati card so I don't know how long they take to update drivers
Next week, I hope. Last Catalysts were released on 18th.
im having some odd DX issues with Medieval II but otherwise they seem alright, i think these drivers are really holding the 4870/50's behind though. Im sure in a week when 8.7 final is out they will make most things right and the next few releases over the coming months
I also have some weird system hang today since installing radeon. Although it's been a full year since i installed vista LOL!with multiple beta SP1's and tons of hotfixes, overall performance is good..but a clean install is calling, maybe this weekend after i back ups
