Eddie included the Techpowerup review for the dissambly of the card :

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Z...Edition/6.html

I woudl first unscrew all the top screws and then start popping off the covers, I damaged mine slightly , so fragile plastic and metal...

oooh nice sexy block there :)

Did you get the backplate? I still do not see a way of ordering the block and the backplate for the GTX280.

Looks good though,

Nope mate no backplate, I will put some Swiftech copper heatsinks on the rams (if required)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. nice!!!

has eddy given any idea on a backplate?

or so called extreme version ?

That thing is huge.

internal shots please

Jesus that was quick. Hopefully it wont be long before we see 4800 blocks aswell.

cant you just use the original backplate?

does replacing the cooling on the card reduces it to a single slot card?

with this block yes

Nice block Eddy!!!! Can we see one with a clear top please? I know others here might disagree . . .but as far as I am concerned, the difference between EK and DD really does not come down to waterblock design but really just miles apart . . .both companies just exude quality + great customer service. . .

hey! it doesnt look like a snail any more!

Bumped up the GPU to 740, Shaders 1480 en Ram at 1250mhz :

Idling at 37-40°C need to verify max temp as I see max 45°C in precision during a 3dmark06 Run (quick interrupted it before the CPU test) If I leave Precision or Rivatuner monitoring I get weird lag in the benchmarks so ignore the score lol it's kindda low then...

Is this block realy singleslot?
Cause on the 8800GTX blocks i had before, the screws where to high to be single slot.

For the rest Leeghoofd, this needs a vmod :D
Beetje meer prik kan geen kwaad ;)

The second part of the block (for the ram) should be available in approximatly 7-10 days, Eddy wrotte me

If that's gonna cost another 80 euro it isn't worth it for just the ram.

30-40€ like for the ram block for the EK fcr600 I think. I have a full cover block, I want erything coolled by the block

now ask him how much they will cost together ;)

Hi!

The back ram cooler in also in manufacturing.
Firstly we will release alu backplate, then in 2 weeks block for back RAMs that will be compativble with all EK 280 GTX blocks.

If I'm right the ram is pulling 5 watt, so alu heatsink will be more than enough to cool the back of the ram.
Is that back plate like Iandh's plates ?
So the card will still be single slot ?
Or will it be higher (fins) ?

quick question.

those of you that have viper john's nb block.

will the backplate interfer with that block?

The difference between stock cooling and the EK fc8800 with a 8800GTX is 30mhz for the ram. Better cooling = better frequency. Better performance in the game, not sure ....

Oh yeah, I like the snail too :rolleyes:

Some piccies with the card installed... will post some benches this weekend and temp readouts

No sinks on the memory?

Nope beefy 25cm fan in the sidepanel... even at 1250mhz they ram chips are cool to touch... but will order the backplate just for my piece of mind...

Did a 3dmark 2006 run at 740/1480/1250 and max temp I got was 46°C... CPU was an E8400@4ghz 1.22volts... cooled by a Thermochill PA120.3 rad with Laing pump and EK reservoir...3/8 tubing :

Good looking block! ;)

Keep us posted...

Let us know how the ram chips are doing as I'm thinking of WC'ing my GTX 280 when I order it but I'm half hoping the 23mm side fan will be enough to keep them cool (TT Armor+)

I checked them and they are barely warm at 1250Mhz with the 25Cm fan... without they are hot... but I'm going for the Alu backplate once Eddie puts it up on his webbie...

I finally tested my stock gtx last night after getting it in last thursday afternoon. I can run about 10mhz shy on the core (linked) as what you show, but can't seem to push my ram much faster than stock. I need to do some more playing around, but it is almost looking like a wash between water and air on this card.

some more testing today : 760GPU / 1520 Shaders and 1296mhz on the ram... 3DMARK2006 stable :) no artifacts whatsoever

Alu backplate arrivd and will install it today and take some piccies lads...

Backplate has slightly longer screws then the ones from the waterblock...installation is a no brainer... I opted for the Alu backplate as a waterblock on top would have left me very narrow space with the top PCI slot on my P5Q dlx mobo... secondly I have ran the rams barenaked at 1250mhz for a few weeks now, just a 25cm fan in the sidepanel blew some fresh air over them... no hickups there... with the backplate the card is straight again and doesn't bend at all due to the weight of the bottom copper block...

Top ace job again Eddie !!

Can the AL backplate come in a chrome version for consistency? And on either black or chrome version, could those screws come in black? Probably I could work those out on my own, but they'd be a nice detail improvement.
