"705.5*8 with Biostar I45..This time on LN2 "

My Biostar I45 just arrived yesterday, since we didnt order LN2, i just checked fsb on air. It was able to set up to 668MHZ but i wanted to record vid of it so 662 was enough :p:

that was just a quick try, i got camera and boot the system, even no driver i installed. Now i am away home, i will more deeply try on this and sure more care about settings when i came back.

This is a sick motherboard indeed, in the good way :D

Biostar can push this old E8400 chip easily over 600FSB with air cooling.
650FSB was the maximum it was able to post.

On any other platform this chip has maxed out at ~530FSB, so the increase is indeed very massive.

I am not really sure if the difference comes from the chipset or tampered VTT, but there is a difference and it is huge.

The only thing we need now is a DDR3 version of TPower I45 ;)
Even at 1:1 mode the memory is becoming the limiting factor very easily.

And what's up with distributors not liking biostar anymore..:down: My wholesaler has drastically decreased the line of biostar mobos and is likely to get rid of them completely :( Probably because nobody cares about anything else than Asus, Intel and gigabyte

you guys think the ddr3 board will reach same speeds?

Yesterday my with my buddies tosunermc and AbsoluteZero had some fun on that mabo, it s too bad although i figured out ovp mod, after i did it save-existing bios was not possible :), then stuck at 1.85v so only 6g validation and some fsb try. it was able to do 1m at 5864 but didnt try to optimze it since too low speed with this cpu :), well, here the ss.

btw, coldbug for nb was around -70c :(

i was working on ovp mod of this mabo and did it :D , i gave 2.040v without any problem, here an ss of 1.94v vcore validation ;), i will add mod after get a camera from a friend.

I dont think so..

I have yet to see a P45 DDR3 board that clocks ok, the DDR2 ones are fine...its just the DDR3 versions that suck bad.

My advice, P5E3 Premium/DFI T3R for DDR3, P45 for massive FSB DDR2

Offtopic: Tony, which bios is that you're talking about which would bring DFI T3RS to the level of memory clocking close to P5E3 Premium? Personally I haven't found such one yet :D
