+600mhz FSB Benchable With Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 & E8500

Tonight i have some fun with Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 & E8500 under my 2stages Cascade (~-103°).

First i m tested max fsb on a new E8500 i bought yesterday.

Motherboard isnt vmodded, and NB cooler is stock cooler.

Q809A655 , it takes 4ghz stable for only 1.2v under radbox. :D

And here is validation on max fsb on X48 chip ^^ , chip not supposed to go as high in fsb with Wolfdale :ROTF:

Bios parameters are easy

RAM 1:1 (2.00B) all in auto exept 8-8-8-18 and perf on extreme :lol: i forgot to change it...
CPU Skew control +150ps
Vcore 1.3v
vdimm +0.25v
vFSB +0.25v
VMCH + 0.4v

After this i m testing some maxscreen and super pi 1M but >605mhz fsb system was very instable.

Max in 9.5 coef (Vcore 1.75v), i did 625*9.5 but corrupt ...

And super Pi 1M @ 605*9.5 (can be improve by tweak and if the board can take high fsb and other than 1:1, not tested yet)

Damn Thomas, pulling some sick clocks from X48. You give me hope, now I must find an E8500 :yepp:

very impressive : Gigabyte made bigs improvements with the bios and the wolfdale cpu (564 MHz with the F4A bios and a e8500 when Florian76 test it)

did the tweaking of CPU clock skew help a lot ?

Finally decent result for X48 + 45nm dualie :) I just hope you dont have golden MB and 600+ will become norm

What Memset performance level you have?

will try that bios as i've got some cold start reset issues with F4 on my board

the board i'm testing is pretty fast too....sub10m under 4.6Ghz isn't too shabby :) heh

I am having issues with ram speeds. 1600 doesnt want to run at 400 FSB. swaps sticks and it runs fine...put those modules in another X48 board and they run fine..totally weird.

i used 3.20B or 4.0B RAM ratios to clock my Corsair Dominators and Curcial sticks and both can bench 32M Superpi just shy of 2Ghz 8-7-7-18 1T

i did an entry in 32M challenge thread while messing with the board last night

sweet board...i really like it so far

i do need that FSB though hehe and i can only get around 520-530 with the board which is the same as all the other GB and Asus boards i have based on intel chipsets

but skew at +200ps helps me attempt to boot at high as 580Mhz but it does not stabilise it so i am close but no cigar just yet hehehe

I have also tried F5C but Vcore Stay on stock vcore With Quad core.

i flashed to this bios

it's the same behaviour as previous bioses in terms of FSB tuning with CPU Skew

i can hit much higher FSB in boot as per below (compared to 530 on auto settings)

this is using +150ps
+0.50 vdimm
+0.35 VTT
i also tried as high as +0.55 on MCH and no difference

Eric if you're using 4GB Kits make sure you flash to F5a ;)

Hmm new BIOS. Time to clean the board and make it do some high FSB :D
BTW, I hope this was done on first revision only.

All of you have PCB 1.1? Is that the latest?

I have a Rev 0.1 (probably 1.0 backwards) with F2F bios and these modules run just fine at 1600. On the 1.1 board...it is no dice... even with F5a.

It works fine with CellShock 12800 , 14400 and 15000 :yepp: , +1000mhz stable on CL7 with all module in the Nice PINK slots :p: .

excellent FSB! wish my ga-x38-dq6 would go that high. I will have to play more with the cpu skew settings

i think that +150 is need over 550 fsb.
i did with f4 validate at 615 but i cannt remake that result, i did max 585 stable and 600 shot.
you use GTL ?

F5D is the best for fsb and i dont touch to glt .
