Awesome! I absolutely loved the original FarCry. Graphics are kinda on par with CoD4. I hope they transfer over the awesome multiplayer experience too.
Farcry was great fun and though it never really took off, the multiplayer was loads of fun. I liked driving around in the boat spamming rockets at the shoreline. Or grabbing the sniper rifle, swimming out to a small island somewhere to pick off some nubs.
It was so versatile. I miss it. The Assault style maps were loads of fun too, I hope they keep that around in some form.
please.. please.. be no more plastic people who doesn't bleed like crysis, this spoils the fun so much..
People in Crysis don't bleed? That's lame. What happened to M rated games?! Even CS:S is more bloody.
if PC max out @ 1280x720 = console version graphics, and only with higher res. textures
i mean if that happens what do we PC gamers get?? the only genre left for PC is RTS (and MMORPG of course), and now that PS3 supports Mouse/keyboard, and if next gen consoles supports M/K on most games. They will prolly have the same RTS game as the PC version ...
Not that I think M$ would let their next XBOX, XBOx 720 or w/e supports M/K.. They prolly still wanna sell us vista/windows 7 for "games"
do we at least get some exclusive visual effects for Farcry 2?? at least DX10 stuff.. just seems to me that they dumb down the game so that everyone gets the same thing
And if you've ever pirated a game, you have no right to complain. Why should developers put effort into something that won't pay dividends? Believe me, the PC would be the lead development platform for every title if everyone with an 8800+ series card actually bought the games they play. I've bought every game I've ever owned, and was frustrated with devs for lame console ports... until I realized it's you I should be blaming. End rant.Quote:

The funny thing about the Dunia Engine is, that it's based on the CryEngine 1 (you remember, Ubisoft bought all rights of Far Cry and the CryEngine 1). But of course the engine was highly modified, so that there are just some little parts left of the old engine. ;)
But it definitly looks great! The fire (and it definitly can spread over) looks awesome!
Looks like crysis, but with even more cartoon like explosion FXs.
Game looks great, 1 complaint. Could just be video... FOV looks awkward.
Maybe it's just the video, but the trees and vegetations doesn't look as good as Crysis to me.

and still doesn't look convincing. no bullet holes and they go through the bodies like they where some kind of ghosts. the weapon customization was nice but the rest feels like some silly game for children.

To me the game looks terrific. I loved the Cry engine 2 in Crysis,
I can't wait to play in an african style environment rather than
the tropical style in farcry and Crysis that I am used to.
Grass fires, animals, and some of that scenery look spectacular.
Plus I like the open type environments, and not so scripted,
always get the feeling when I play CoD games that im playing
in small areas with invisible walls, love the vastness of Farcry
and Crysis.
All that grass though, might need another GTX lol.

Yeah looks good, although it doesn't look as good as i initially expected.. dunno why. Perhaps it all looks a little bit too cartoony.

This particular issue seems to be rendered at 30fps. I do hope PC version won't be capped at 30fps like most consoles ports are

the video I first seen about it linked from dev forums a while ago was far more impressive though. a long preview explaining all the capabilities of the engines of the game with quite a lot of explanations. I never found it back, only a few of the sort but shorter and in low quality

Oh and from the mouths of the developers "...engine was built from ground up...". Ubisoft own the FarCry licence, they have nothing to do with CryEngine.
