My new solid copper CPU tubes!

Today I got my new CPU tubes.

These are my own design and I think I have done pretty good job :D
Thanks to my friend Jami, who done the hardest work :up:

Specs:
Diameter: 80mm
Height: 100mm
base diameter:40mm / 50mm
base thickness: 30mm
weight: ~2Kg

Both tubes have a bit different design. These should be really efficient pots :D

LN2 tests are coming on this friday and I will update this thread then.

Yes, those three grooves are going through the base.

Both tubes are different. Thickness of the base is 20mm and 30mm. Grooves are 3x 15/10mm and 4x 4/6mm.

I don't know how Astra pot is looking, but I think there is nothing new in grooves or holes for me. Earlier designs were bad in other ways. (Too little mass in the base) These should work better.

Those are really nice! Ive had similar designs on the paper but i couldnt make them due lack of proper milling tools. In addition to extra surface area heat will spread nicely from the cpu to pipe part so i think they should kick ass.

Yes and the most important part in these are thick base. In earlier tubes, the base were always too thin. I heard that these weren't the easiest tubes to do :D

Only these are 90€ each. Next ones will be more expensive of course. (Copper is expensive)

Meh, i know than cu is freaking expensive. I know Jami well so might get discount :)

I have seen him couple times f2f and bougth my cpu alu pot from him...

This design is for LN2, but this should work with dry ice aswell.

I will show some pictures in next post.

These pictures are from my friday and saturday night bench sessions. Both sessions were full of problems, cause these were first LN2 tests with new pots and ASUS 790i. I used only 20 liters of LN2

I couldn't break any my personal records, cause there is no clockgen for 790i yet. I had to use 400fsb or else my mem bandwidth dropped from ~12500MB to 8500K :( Memset didn't work either.

There was some multicore bug at high speeds. If I tried to use 4 cores it just didn't use them all. My 3DM06 CPU scrore was around ~9K at 5.6-5.7GHz, but anything over that and motherboard dropped one or two cores of :confused: This bug was there only when using 9800GX2 :shrug:


These pots worked really well! Temperature was really easy to adjust. Temperature was really stable in quick benches and in longer benches there was some minor fluctuation. It was nothing compared to my old tube and results were better than I expected. Great! :up:

Some random screenshots! I just tested these pots, so these are not the max :D See the "low" voltage. Real voltage during load was almost 0.1V lower than in idle. 1.82V in load and 5.7GHz in 3DM06 cpu test :D
