Time for Nv to upgrade driver. 9800GTX sli test & 9800GTS 2GB

can't express how disappoint am I right now.
driver sux, (174.20)
mobo sux, (nv780i)
overclk sux, (<500fsb, <4.5G, <30k)
benchmark reaults sux !!!

finally have time to set up SLI rig,
but...got such a bad 3dmark03 score :(

driver now is ok for 9800gts but not ready for 9800gtx.

i give up tri-sli testing on 780i,
not worth spending any of my time on this platform,
'coz i have no working DDR2 at hand, and the mobo really pissed me off :(
i can run 500*9 3D03, 475*9 3D05,....but...can't finish 3D06 at such clks.
less vcore or more vcore will bring me blue screen :D
btw, the CPU can run 1.47v 500*9 prime all day long on other mobo @.@

so...gonna put my hands on 3870X2X2 now, wait until 790i coming and will start sli benching then :D

well all besides CPU and RAM

you are lucky you can even reach that high FSB to be honest as 680i and 780i were not the best FSB OCers

790i = different story :D

i've managed 464fsb out of my 680i and q6600.. i think it needs more fsb voltage... but it only goes to 1.5! gay... :(

Not surprising since the 9800GT*-series are slightly tweaked G92's, nothing more. They overclock better than the 8800-series but that's pretty much it.

Are these cards released on the 18th of march together with 790i ? Nvidia better catch up in that case with it's drivers.... but I'm kindda liking the 2300mhz on the ram of the 9800GTX...

Btw, VR-Zone has the new drivers for XP and Vista on their website for the GX2 and GTX, Driver Version 174.40 and 174.51 i think, Once someone mods the inf, I'm going to make a public news post.

Well, they sure surprised many with the sneaky "overclocking-via-the-PCIe-bus-without-reflecting-it-in-drivers-or-tools"-function it incorporated which caused many review cards to be unstable and fail even simple overclocks (since they were already overclocked by 10-15% depending on the current PCIe-clock). In essense they're shrunk, overclocked and very slightly tweaked 8600GTS's (or practically half a G92 8800GTS). If they hadn't cheated with that PCIe-bus clock trick the 9600GT would be a compelling mid-range card right below the 8800GT. As it is it feels shoddy to me. In fact, the whole 9-series feels kind of unnecessary since they're essentially G92's. They should've used a different nomenclature like 8900GT/GTS/GTX or something, not jumped to series-9 because they're not a generation ahead, just slight updates (shrinks, higher clocks) of G92's.
