Project Blackline worklog.(still in progress)
-
-
Watch out for static, working on that carpet.
-
not placing any electrical components out of the box, atleast not yet but ya, the RAM is actually on my bed I know the comforter is the same color as the carpet hahaha.
-
Hopefully the plastic film is still on that Fuzion... but still looks like an awesome project! I'm watching this one...:)
-
that case is so sexy too bad it isn't designed for watercooling at all. internal is no hope because the front is totally blocking intake by the cover and the back is blocked by the extra "bling" so external on the back isn't possible without taking away the looks
-
heh ya the plastic stuff is still on the fuzion and the swiftech I havent removed any of that stuff yet.
-
looking good...
btw which radgrill is that? kickbox? where'd you buy it?
i see they have oblong mounting holes, good for diff radiators....

It's for Thermochill compatibility. I just wish they had flushmount versions without the exterior holes for external radiators.
-
Yup that is a Kikboxes grill, bought from FrozenCPU the only place I could find it in stock. The oblong holes are actually really nice if you plan on getting some aluminum and build a housing which is what I am working on right now will post pics as its done.

I think those 2 cases are the most awful things I've ever seen in my whole life, including the ugly radgrill with the simple soul "tribal" theme.
but keep on going, within a year or 5 you're fine ;) sorry m8 not really my taste
-
Saying sorry after a thread crap does not make it OK IMHO.
-
ehhh I am allowed to have my own taste, really dont care if you like or not cause its me whos is looking at it everyday not you :)
btw I love the old case I have right now the one from aspire it has served me well.
-
I managed to Internalize the Radiator will post pics soon.
-
Looks nice. Though, I am not a huge fan of the spaceship look, but I like the way you designed it.
I will say, from the look of those big legs, that you may have been able to mount it underneath the case and still had room.
Look Good either way :yepp:
-
I tried it but didnt fit too well had to mount it on top.
-
Update time.
I had a question what blue dye do you guys suggest or UV light. Cause the stuff I have doesnt seem to provide a bright enough contrast. I think the UV light is fine but the dye seems to be the problem part. I am using FrozenCPU.com's blue dye.
Any suggestions

see if you can shorten the tubing going from the fuzion to the rad, otherwise lookin good !
-
Ya I was being lazy there and didnt wanna wrap the tubing.. ill prolly rerun the tubing a little later. btw that mushkin PSU died during install which sux ass so i ended up getting a Corsair HX520.. I was looking for modular support otherwise I woulda gone OCZ
-
I probably would have sprung for the HX620...especially if you plan on OCing.
-
was debating going 520 or 620 will see once I get the PSU and how the output is. I am not crazy about OCing i like to do it to an extent not pushing the limit
-
So are you WCing just for the sake of it then? :D

Are you saying that WC'ing is for OC'ers only? If so, that's a pretty snobby attitude. I've built only mATX/SFF rigs for the last 7 years and until late, the MoBo manu's haven't paid much attention to mATX BIOS OC features. Air was just starting to get too loud for me back in March of '03, that's when I started using WC. It's just so much more quiet than air that my HDD's are now my biggest source of annoying noise.
-
I guess I just don't see why someone would go through the work or spend all that money to not OC at least a little...especially with air coolers like the TRUE being dead silent. I'm not snobby about it...I guess I'm of the mind that WCing is usually so you can get better OCs. Anyway, I'm not saying you shouldn't OC, it's your prerogative :)
-
heres my thing with OCing... I didnt build this unit with the purpose of OCing yet. Theres a reason I did this build the way it is. I am planning on adding another 3x120 radiator in the future with a bigger case.
I just dont think the one 2x120mm radiator will dissipate enough heat to OC yet. This was my first time getting into water cooling also..
I agree to a certain extent where if you are going to spend 300$ buying parts for WC then you might give OCing a shot but it depends on setup.
-
Understandable :) Sorry if I came across like an a-hole

Air coolers have made some pretty nice gains since I've stopped using them, I'll give you that, but I've gotten used to the better temps and TBH a TRUe isn't going to fit in any of the cases I have. In fact, there are very few new air coolers that will even come close to fitting many of the cases I have.

You will probably find it pretty easy to overclock with the setup you are making. I only use a 2X120 Rad with no problems running 3.6ghz 24/4 on my E6600... But like you said, you might overclock, but this rig isn't being built to push the limits. Though I think you will find it pretty good.
Anyway mate it looks terrific. The color scheme looks mint. You might need a cold cathode to get the most out of your UV reactive die.
