So, I love this case, its not too huge but still has space for everything. its from the "silent" series so everything has extra thickness and there is rubber vibration killers all over the place. enjoy the pictures, ask any questions, I'll be posting regular updates to this first post as the parts start rolling in. Mainly I'm waiting for the yates from petras and my video card for Extreme PC. once I get those I can take the pump and Fuzion out of my current rig (Sg-03, in sig)

My advice is not to put the pump directly onto the gel. You should make a mount for the pump.

I think he means that if you put the pump on it directly it could get to warm. So it is better to create a mounting for the pump and place that on the gel pad. So the bottom of the pump can have fresh air too.

I already run a ddc 3.2 stuck directly to a piece of double sided adhesive foam and have no heat problems. Maybe this was an issue with the ddc-2 ?

well i have few laing ddc 2 pumps 1 is modded (thread about that in my sig) and i cant say that they get considerably hot or even warm in use.. :shrug:

I have seen a couple of occasions where someone puts a ddc on the gel stuff directly and it overheats and dies.

delrin parts look sexy, and no the 90 degree bends don't kill my performance, it is a single block loop anyway.

But why the rad fans pulling air inside the case ? they should push air outside.

the idea is to bring the colder air from outside through the radiator, this means they need to blow into the case.

Very neat job.
These V series are better to LC than folks think. The v2000 isn't the only one, if you think a bit.

In your way you bring hot air into your case.

but its cold air into the rad


and u need to take the case to the next lvl and paint the inside of it

omg, yes the radiator heats up the air, but the air colder going through the rad. I dont care about the air once its in the case, I only care about the coldest air possible going through the rad.

bumping up an old thread but wanted to see if you had any new updates? also wanted to know what sort of temps you were running using your water loop?

i tried for a while to pick up a windy soldam case but it looks like i'm going to go with this case as well and possibly water it. i've currently got an a05b that is passively cooled and quiet, love the inverted design in it so that plus the chambers in this one appeals to me.

another question as well and maybe an idea for you, but could you de-rivet the hd cages in the bottom and flip them around, that way you don't see the cables? trying to plan this out before i actually go with this.

I didn't notice one, but do you have a reservoir in there?

I'm going to take more pictures in a bit, maybe a day.

my quad idles at 28C, not sure what ambient is.....
load it never breaks 55c during my everyday config.

never thought of flipping the drive cages (sounds like a good idea), when I take pictures I'll have a peek and let you know.

big update, maybe this could get moved to the worklogs section plz?

so I added a second loop :) made my own window and had a pain of a time cutting the very thick ALU these doors are made of, I need some u channel edge molding to make it look proper ;)

Otherwise it has come out great, next time I get around to draining my cpu loop i will be sleeving that with UV yellow techflex sleeve. enjoy the pics, it looks downright dirty, the green isnt as light as it appears in these pics (I color corrected the first pic to show a more realistic uv effect)

I have updated my sig, i am getting excellent performance out of this :D

rotary tool, i was careful to leave the mountpoints for the fan shroud intact and i did a bit of modding to the enzotehc ramsinks as the fan made a bit of contact with them.

in my process of modding i also discovered that the ati stock GPU heatsink has 0 copper whatsoever in it only painted at the base to decieve consumers :shakes: (I chopped it to a million pieces)

this is one of the cards, not as clean as the second one i did, but i dont think i have closeups of that (this includes my voltmod as well)

seriously thought the case sides (v1000 style obv) on this case are 1/8" ALU and they are nearly impossible to cut. I started with a high speed rotozip + a 20$ metal cutting bit and the first cut went fine, then my guide slipped out of the clamp (read vertical side). Then the bit stopped working and wouldn't cut. I finished the bottom edge with a few cutoff wheels and then tried my second rotozip bit (another 20$ :() but that started melting the aluminum and ruined the small angled corner (as you can see :mad:) then I finished the last side with big cutoff wheels. overall not great but I' will be moving to a PC-p80 around Christmas.


I bought some rubber edging to clean up the look but it was too small to fit on the 1/8" aluminum of this case side :down: anyone know where i can get some that WILL work with this case side? (same case side as v1000 series, just different square edges)

What kind of temps does this guy get? Those two huge rads must keep it unbelievably cool.

clocks are in sig,

IDLE: CPU-28C, NB-30C, GPU1-30C, GPU2-30C
LOAD: CPU-42C, NB-34C, GPU1-36C, GPU2-38C

Did you change the fan direction when you retooled it? Next time try to use an electric Jigsaw for the side panels. You just have to make sure to tape off the sidepanel real well, cut in with a rotary tool or large drill bit and start going. File down the edges and you can make it look clean even without u-channel.

Noticed you went through 3 different Corsair power supplies heh.

this is 1/8" ALU its twice as thick as every other side panel in the world, it eats cutting wheels and cant be cut with a jigsaw. I'm gonna buy another panel and cut it at the machine shop once im back at college in a week

I have just looked at your temps on the 4GHZ CPU how did you get your Q9650 that cold on load when myne hits 55 C @3.47Ghz with thermochill rad and higher flow rates from my large pump? I MUST be doing something wrong?

what size / type of braiding on what size / type of tubing is that?

IDK, i have always got incredible temps from my setup, i think the its the combo of 3/8" tube and a DD 3/8 barb (small inner bore) of the d-tek fuzion v1.

I don't expect to upgrade to a new cpu block any time soon. what are you using to measure your temps????

Looking good, what did you use to stick the reservoir metal brackets on to the thin vertical edge of the 5.25 bay? How much better were your idle/load temps from moving the radiator externally vs internal?

long L bracket included with the res, bolted to some spare mounting holes on the bay side
