i hate you give me now!!! :D
i thought that they didnt have pins on the bottom of the chip?
the last pic looks like it has tiny ones, about 2/3 mm
ah, i always thought it was 1207 pin ... doh
haha, nice!
However who are the kidding with the 386 type heatsink :)
Cost cut much :D ... good
Bit of a weedy cooler?
I thought it would have a better heatsink.
What kind of temperatures do you get on the stock heatsink? Stock clock speeds...
indeed that heatsing reminds me of the one for Athlon 64 3500+ single core!
don't think you will be overclocking much with that.
gimme benchmarks!
I think AMD want heat to be a problem with OCing rather than the CPU being the limit
Amd still uses pins on their desktop cpus, they only changed the server versions to pinless design.
as for the cooler, it seems the same as the one that came with the single core k8's, they should atleast have used the one that came with the higher end x2's and FX.
@OBR pls, we want oc results:up:
who was making fun of the new intel heatsink? :D
this one looks like a K7 one :p:
Horrible heatsink!...70mm fan?!...eww!
wtf? why do they pair this with the the old heatsink?:shakes:
This is Xtreme Systems.... Who here uses the stock heatsink?
How is this "news"?
It's news to me because it means people from here will start getting their hands on them and start doing some real world testing. Some good O/Cing. We might find out a little more about these chips from people on here.
...and now put that thing in the socket and bench it to death, damnit! :D:D:)
This is news, because no one can see yet retail cpu ... only weird ENG samples ...
About damn time!
nice ;)
Actually, there have been quite a few sites that have had the non-engineering CPUs. Other than the cooler and the packaging, there is not much different from the tray parts some of us have.
add some benchs and OC and is decent news
how can you in czech republic get all this stuff before rest of us? :)
you can buy Phenoms in germany right now. but the prices are very high.
http://geizhals.at/deutschland/?cat=cpuamdam2p
I have in Czech rep. everything very very soon (mobos, cpus, gfx) ... if you know that right peoples you can get anything ...
Actually, quite a few stores have them here in Canada. I just passed by a store called Microbytes here in Montreal and they have a good half dozen in a display.
There seems to be quite a bit of stock about in Australia, not sure if it's going to fly off the shelves though ;)
Too bad Phenom sucks :(
You miss in AM2 real life compatibility too
http://www.pcinpact.com/actu/news/40...patibilite.htm
they said after that manufacturers works to provide bios butQuote:
What we did today with a number of motherboards AM2 from Asus, Gigabyte and MSI based on chipsets from AMD, NVIDIA or VIA. In any case, the result was the same: black screen.
Quote:
In addition, it seems that all models AM2 will not be concerned. We could not know if it was a willingness of manufacturers or to a real concern technical, but some users might find themselves behind.
This is probably AMD who want sli on there motherboards :D
You can say all you want, but the fact is the perfomance is not there. BIOS, errata, steppings.. a good Phenom, when? 2020? And for compatibility... if the perfomance is bad in AM2+ mobos, what about current AM2?
Phenom sucks.
What if you build a phenom rig with new 790fx chipset board and put some Toyo tire stickers
on the side of the case? :yepp:
Spawne says he's proven that it will give you 15mhz of more clockspeed...what if you put enough phenom stickers too and get equal performance to intel?!?
Yup I have undestand you.
And you want to understand me, or just defend a POS? I don´t really know ;) Phenom is good for me, at ~160€ 2,4Ghz part.
if that's all you have to say then stay out of the tread and go please you' re self in the intel forums. Phenom is a good proc it only misses some maturing and a bit lower price 10-15%, you forgot the first hot kentucky's already?, the new 790 platform is one of the best at the moment, there will only be minimum performance difference between am2 and +, because ht3 has no additional advantages to exist on a 1s system, on the other hand a + board does have some nice headroom for the future and better powermanagement.. Knowing AMD there process will get better, not only steppings but also the matured 65nm.
btw get rid of that F1 fanboy spot, he sucks bigtime.
I really wish ppl would stop btching about STOCK heatsinks... no one uses them and including a better one would only drive up prices.
As I already said, is good... at 160€ pricepoint, and for cold winter´s days. And I want a C2D killer NOW, when Phenom matures Nehalem would be here, so absolutely no need of it. I understand your frustration regarding this, but stop attacking those who are not living in a dream with Phenom being a good product, like you ;)
BTW, I don´t want to get rid of it, who the hell you think you are to tell me what avatar should I use?
yeah right 160€ where.
i think you are the one that is frustrated, for sure with you're fanboy avatar
if you want to make a comment make a decent one, not one full of rubbish
1 thread, 4 posts that have 0 added value. Idiots that believe that nehalem will arrive first for desktop. And yes hype it, why not, because for once in 6 years intel made a decent proc for desktop will they make another one?
9500 should be in today, then we see what all the fuss is about :)
... my is arrived from OCUK.co.uk today too!
Are u going to give us some results ? :D
testing at weekend on 790FX ...
Nice@awaiting!
any updates ?
lol i remember when i bought mine X2 4800+ from OcUK for £430 now Phenom 9500 is out for £170. What difference competition makes eh?
Still i wont buy it because if i was to buy a CPU it would have to have higher Ghz value then the current one or otherwise it does not feel like an upgrade.
It 'aint news here, I've had one for a while but no DIMMs and now that I have RAM I get BSOD on bootup with ATi card installed and only VGA mode which sucks completely. The AM2 Sapphire board I have doesn't boot with 9500 (black screen) and the MSI board gives only VGA mode so still waiting.
today will be some OC and performance report ...
OBR do you have the MSI 790FX board you can test? I'd like to see if it's just mine which is failing bootup with the X4 9500.
I cant to overclock it higher then 2450MHz ... system freezes ... if i set FSB highrer then 220 no post no boot ... i have last bios F2L ...
with Phenom voltage options are descreased ... only 0.1V + to CPU, i tested every voltage options in BIOS and mobo is not stable with stable FSB then 220, is not stable even i lower multi of cpu - that is strange, i am sure this is a memory related issue ...
Yeah I have BIOS issues too. Many of the options changed in BIOS don't make a difference in Windows. :(
370$ for a 9500 where i live. So it seems its on par with the Q6600 in terms of pricing. Only a mere 10$ difference, in favor of the 9500. Not quite attractive just yet i must say. Maybe a 20-40$ cut would be a better start for it.
